We have passed this place many times and finally decided to try it. Going by all of the reviews I thought we were in for a treat.. When walking in you have to order at the front counter and pay in advance. There was a drink special 2 for $10 for a slushy alcohol drink. There was 4 different flavors to pick from. I had strawberry and it wasn't bad. We ordered some wings , they weren't bad but small compared to some places we have been to.The sauce was ok. They give a ounce or 2 of blue cheese with the wings Got the combo which came with fries and a drink.My Mom decided to try the Philly. It came with some fries and a drink too. She said it was ok. It didn't have much flavor. It was quiet when we went in. Pretty big dining area. TV was on . There are No waitresses. So when the food is ready they call out your name. The menu selection wasn't that big, I thought they would have more dinner specials, especially being a soul food restaurant. I ordered the 10 piece bone in lemon pepper wings with ranch and a side of collard greens. The wings were really good. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and coated with plenty of lemon pepper seasoning without being too salty. The ranch on the side tied everything together perfectly. The collard greens were a nice surprise too. Full of flavor, tender, and tasted like they'd been cooked low and slow the right way. The spot has a casual laid back feel, and the food came out hot and fresh. Staff was friendly and service moved quickly. This was a great restaurant to eat at especially after a night of going out. I chose Mr. Wings due to the variety of sauces and dry rubs. I always get my wings extra crispy and the wings were exactly as I asked. We ordered 40 pieces. The two sauces I got were the hot honey and the Cajun dry rub. This place was one selected on a whim based on driving by and everyone being really hungry. We were so happy we did and will be going back soon. To start the building isn't fancy or overly inviting but the food was to die for. On the journey to entering they have it posted that food is made to order so that allowed for realistic expectations to be set. Once inside there was a table waiting and one customer ahead and from all the factors we were not expecting much. Once we had ordered customers started flooding in and it got busy. As for the food I was disappointed that they ran out of cabbage but everything else made up for that small matter. With two picky kiddos with totally opposite palates I can confirm that our entire group enjoyed everything down to the super sweet and flavorful kool-aid. The wings were good and sauce seasoned just right. Collard greens... man oh man they were grreeeat. I caution you if you don't like a lil sugar in them as these definitely had a hint of sweetness. The boneless wings good. The fries seasoned, crinkle cut and downright enjoyable. The star of the show for me was the banana pudding!! Great wings and pretty decent prices. This is a long time Fairfield/Pace Blvd area restaurant - just a new (and very nice location). The owner clearly spent a lot of money and hard work remodeling the new restaurant - he did a really nice job. Went with a large group at lunch - no drama from the staff and plenty of tables to sit at, even with them being pretty busy. Two great ladies working the orders. Wings were really good and they'll let you have 2 different flavors with a 10-piece! I got garlic hot (garlic via a dry rub/sprinkle) and extra hot. Extra hot wasn't all that hot though, will try hotter next time. Lost a star for 2 reasons - had to ask the staff for drink refills (I need more than a 12oz cup for extra hot wings!) instead of the fountain being customer accessible and their credit card surcharge. Edit: Moved this to the end for clarity - Probably the #3 Wings in Pensacola, but that is up against stiff competition from Grover's (#1) and W.O.W. (#2, across the street). W.O.W.s might be a touch better, but the closed their inside seating and the drivethru line is normally pretty long at lunch (and doesn't move like that Chik-Fil-A). W.O.W. has also seemed to have started to sporadically close. Mr. Wings blows W.O.W. out of the water as far as the customer experience goes. Maybe there is a new #2 in town?! read more

We got a little of everything: wings, spicy boneless chicken and chicken and waffles. Everything was fresh and beyond delicious. The Mac and cheese was so good!!! I hadn't had wings in several years because I stopped eating meat. When I picked up meat again, I decided to wait and try wings at a place that was actually good (didn't want to settle for a Wingstop). These did not disappoint at all! The wings were cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly, and were coated in the perfect amount of sauce. We tried five different flavors: lemon pepper, garlic Parmesan, honey garlic, bbq, and teriyaki. They all tasted soo good. The service was also excellent. If I find myself in the area again, I would definitely visit Mr Wings again! Also, make sure you try the Daiquiris. The food taste really good. You have to try the sweet potato casserole but warning get two servings. I always want more of it but I know with the taste it has to be 1 million calories. I get the whole wings fried to perfection. Cornbread is good. Collards are seasoned well. Drinks are great. The green beans taste amazing and seasoned like grannies. The service isn't fast but is culturally exceptional. They're going to be friendly to everyone but extra friendly to people they personally know. The more you go the more friendly they become. Two stars because the lady at the register was super nice and thorough making sure all the food was accounted for... however we had separate orders totaling forty wings three kids meals and a sandwich... the wings were so small over cooked, and bland. The kids meals fries were stone cold, I've never seen my six year old ask to throw his fries away. Also the outside and inside of the place is a train wreck. The wings were huge entree size ones and tasted good. I'd say they were 4/5. The waffle was great. Together it was divine.
