Every time I come to visit Pensacola, this is always one of my stops. I love their food! We don't have Newk's where I live in south Florida. I wish we did!! They're always so friendly too, which is a huge plus. Great place to just hang out and vibe!! I highly recommend their Green Goddess or Newk's Favorite salads. Had it delivered via Uber Eats. Ordered Green goddess salad/ chicken. Very good. Good portion. I also had the strawberry cake. I'm a cake snob. I've also had the strawberry cake at Coffee Guy. The strawberry cake at Newks was made with strawberry buttercream- no added cream cheese in the icing (not my favorite). It was moist and SO delicious!!! It's taken me years to find a cake that I like from a restaurant. Definitely better than Coffee Guy's strawberry cake! The peanut butter chocolate rice krispy square was delicious, too. Some people just love the food at Newk's, and really like it is a catering option for office lunches. To me it's just a bit too corporate and the food always seems a little bland. Can get crowded at times, but that's a good thing and means a lot of other people are satisfied with the offerings. Great healthy options. Everything is fresh and made when you order. The salads,pizza, and sandwich I have never had anything bad. You order at a front counter get your number and seat yourself. This place has always had great food, but the service has improved greatly over the last few years. Background: I frequented this place for lunch and dinner from its opening day until about three years ago. I stopped going when a new manager took over, got rid of the hard-working young people who worked there (maybe not college students, but college-age) and replaced them older, nasty women who addressed every customer as "honey," "sweetie," or "darlin." I stopped going for several years and even addressed my concerns to the company CEO when I recognized him at the airport. I stayed away and only resumed going there about a year ago when I heard there was a new manager and the younger, more diligent employees were back in charge. I'm now back to my three-times-a-week Newk's habit. read more

They were pretty busy when we went in but still took our order in a timely manner. Our food came fast and we had three different orders. I liked that they refinished their table tops and always clean environment. I really appreciate that I can watch them make the food! And I can see where it's coming from. It's not frozen or out of a can or being microwaved. Everything's freshly made. To sum it up - great food, fast, friendly service at a reasonable price! So I'd been wanting to try this place for a bit; as I'd seen a couple coworkers eating meals from Newk's and it looked appetizing. I'm a big foodie and always willing to try a new restaurant. So the first experience was the same as the one I'm reviewing on now. However, I didn't leave a review for that because I wanted to give them a second chance. So both times I ordered off the choose two menu; which is the sandwich and salad (for me). Both times the sandwich tasted fine; but wasn't anything to rave about! The salad however, both times looked exactly as the one in the photo....BROWN! I didn't eat the first one either. Which meant that I paid $13 for a meal that I only ate $8 worth of. I called this location yesterday as soon as I opened the salad and promptly explained to whoever answered that the salad was completely brown and uneatable. This was supposed to be my lunch that I'd just paid for. The woman on the phone told me that "the produce providers and had switched the lettuce they use and the restaurant has been having problems maintaining it, resulting in lots of complaints". She then said that she'd put me on the IOU list to get a new salad made. Wth kind of response is that? Why would you not offer me my money back?? And why are you knowingly serving brown lettuce??? I'm so disgusted at that fact alone. I won't be going back to Newk's Eatery. read more

I stopped by here when I was in town the other day. I'd never heard of Newk's before and had no idea what to expect. I was just looking for a place to grab a sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised. The good: The way this place works is you walk into the foyer and order off the large print menu posted on the wall and pay at the register. Once you've payed, you're given a number and you pick your seat (there are lots of booths and tables to choose from). You get your own drinks. There's an island set up in the middle of the place where you can grab napkins, flatware, breadsticks, condiments, whatever. I liked the breadsticks. Pretty much the only time you deal with the staff is when you place your order and when they bring it to you. After that, you're on your own--which is fine with me. I got the club. It was really good. The bread was great. I also got the six-cheese mac'n'cheese, which I would also recommend. The bad: I don't have anything to complain about. This isn't super fantasy or artisanal or anything, but it's good, and the service is pretty quick. Aperçu: Would I go here again? Yes. It's a big space. You get plenty of privacy. Service is good, but they leave you alone. The food is good. It's located by the mall but far enough away that it isn't super busy.
