I tired the pizza there it was super good it felt really fresh and well done the servers were all nice and welcoming! The ambiance was nice and chill.

Bar inside Bavaria

The seating process needs work. This review would have been 5 stars but for the service and culture of the restaurant. The food was terrific! We have not been inside the building before and didn't know the process and same for several other diners we discovered. We walked in and saw a sign that said "Please allow us to Seat You", no punctuation and capitalizing some but not all the words (just as I typed). Also the emblem for Bavaria was on the sign. We wanted pizza so we thought since the back of the restaurant looks so different from the front, maybe they had separate hostess, and separate seating practices. We thought if it was meant for both the German and the pizza restaurants both emblems would be on the sign. We waited a few moments and since no one was acknowledging us not even the bartender who looked at us as we came in, we walked to the back part of the restaurant that is the pizza kitchen. We stood at the opening of that area of the restaurant and we were ignored by all the staff in the back including one server (who walked right past us) and two others who appeared to be cooks. We stood there along with the other couple, looking stupid for a while and then once the other couple headed to the front, we did too. We still stood at the hostess station for several minutes before someone came to see us then after being seated we were left so long we almost got up and left. We had set a time of two more minutes before we got up to leave and our server came with less than one minute to spare. Look I don't expect the bartender to be a server, but she stood there and ignored every single customer that came in that door. All she had to say was "someone will be with you"! She was doing nothing but filling cans of beer. This restaurant needs a culture overhaul. There's no teamwork, and there's very little concern for the diner. The front should be staffed by a hostess and not the servers functioning as one. The bartender need not be a hostess or a server but should acknowledge patrons when they're standing at the hostess stand clearly wondering what to do. I sat by the door and as we ate I watched several groups of diners stand confused, wondering what to do. No one turned around and walked out, but I'm sure it happens. Now for the pizza. It was excellent! I liked the crust. I love the sauce! The cook on the pizza was nice. There was decent char on the crust, which I expect on Neapolitan pizzas. I suspect they sat for a long time before coming out to our table though. The centers were very soggy and not very warm. I get a lot of Neapolitan style pizza, and I expect the middle to be soft but this was mushy. It took over an hour from when we walked through the front door and got our pizzas. Neapolitan pizzas cook in less than 90 seconds on average and less than 5 minutes to make. We also had the Dieci Trio which was delicious. Fantastic beer cheese! So........GREAT pizza with great toppings and very nice seasoning. The wait staff need help figuratively and physically. There were just three employees in front of the house that we could determine for such a large restaurant. They are stretched thin. That is not their fault. What is their fault is the fact that you can stand at the entryway and not be acknowledged at all, by anyone. Really, not a sound out of the staff. The seating sign needs to be made clearer and lastly you need servers that care. An hour to get a Neapolitan pizza in a restaurant that had two tables seated is not ok. You can have the greatest product and still not make it if the front of the house is not pulling its weight. I do have to say, management needs to set them up for success.

Food and drinks are amazing, the owner took care of me when I was feeling terrible as well! Bless his soul, if you guys want an amazing experience and good food eat here!!

Undercooked dough

Don't order pizza here. This is the worst pizza I have had in a long time. It wasn't cooked and the center was almost raw dough, tons of grease and two pepperonis per slice of pizza (yes I literally counted.) I couldn't pick up the pizza to eat it because it was so flimsy and undercooked. I will always eat pizza even if I don't love it but I couldn't even eat this. Two stars because the customer service over the phone was super friendly and polite.

German shot and German beer

I will be returning to this place!!! It may become a regular spot for my husband and I. The staff is so friendly and great with conversation. Our pizza was cooked just as we asked (we prefer light sauce) and the drinks were amazing! I don't enjoy many alcoholic drinks because the price usually isn't worth the low feeling (like many American drinks), but these were wonderful! The wine I got is warm (not on the menu so you'll have to ask for it) and then after I tried a German shot with whipped cream. The drinks made me feel warm and happy! The pizza tasted wonderful and cheesy, the flour is imported from Italy. The low lighting of the restaurant brought a calming vibe. I will always recommend this place. A place 100% worth tipping the staff.

The deck is quite enjoyable for a number of reasons. It is shaded and surrounded by lush vegetation and it's much quieter than inside and more conducive to conversation, especially for folks like me who have profound hearing issues. Service is prompt and attentive here. We decided to share the hot pastrami on rye and the antipasto salad. As you can see from the pic the sandwich is ginormous. So good. The antipasto salad here is unlike any I've ever had in my 77 years! It is composed totally of Capicolla, Genoa, and cotto salami, pepperoni, provolone, Swiss and mozzarella cheese, green and black olives, and artichokes marinated in an Italian dressing. There is no lettuce as in all the antipasto salads I've had before. It is absolutely delicious. We were unable to finish our shared portions of the salad and took easily a whole half portion home to enjoy later. As I'm sure I've said before, there's a reason this store is always packed.

This is complimented by the large, striking art pieces that occupy the entire wall along the north side of the store. And I'm declaring right now the lovely patio area to be one of the most, if not the most, delightful al fresco dining venues in Pensacola. And right now in early May, the patio is graced with the lovely fragrance of the blooming jasmine vines that adorn the trellises of the patio. Though most of the wines on EHWB's list are unfamiliar to me our lovely, efficient, and attentive server, Nadia, was quite knowledgeable and able to steer us to exactly what we were looking for to accompany the Muffuletta we had our sights on. The list consists of a nice variety of moderately priced wines. And at lunch, there are several wines offered at half off per glass. As we're old timers we shared a half Muffuletta. We could have shared a quarter. LOL. It is large. It is served on a bun that looks like a Gambino's, and may be. The bun seemed rather dry to us, not perfectly fresh, but nonetheless the sandwich was quite good. Loaded with all the traditional ingredients and very enjoyable. Would definitely do again, though for next week we've got the Cuban Press locked in on our radar screen. There are several things on the dinner menu here that are calling out to us so we very well work an evening visit in while here. I'm saying this store is going to a winner and a mighty fine replacement and more here in East Hill for City Grocery.

I hadn't had it in over a decade, so back then I was a literal child. Now that I've seen some stuff, I recognized the great pizza here. That, or they upgraded their recipe in the past 10 years or so. Either way. As for the pies, we ordered the Ponderosa Stomp and the Carnivore for the table. Both were very good. The sweet heat of the honey and the jalapeno just lovely, and the addition of the cream cheese, that traditionally pairs well with both those things, was just lovely. And the Carnivore was pretty good, too. It had a good array of meats, and not too meaty, just meaty enough. A nice pie. Overall, an excellent evening meal. It was stomach turning. The pasta was no better. Some sort of gross lemon flavoring or something, I'm not sure, but after a couple of bites I couldn't eat another bite. $47 in the garbage. To add insult to injury, the prices are stupid high. They also add some BS 3.5% "operational charge". It's minor compared to the price of the food, but it's just a shameless money grab. I'm beyond tired of businesses using COVID era nonsense as an excuse to completely fleece patrons. The prices don't even remotely reflect the quality of the food or the location or the atmosphere. It's in a liquor store for goodness sake.

The waiter, Marlon P., was very nice, and explained the specials, one of which we ordered: the Muffuletta Baked Rigatoni. He said it was like a deconstructed Muffuletta sandwich (which I didn't get to try in New Orleans). I ate the angel hair with vito's il diavolo sauce with sausage.
