First Impression: not impressed. Which was disappointing because we have been wanting to try Bonelli's for a while. We had reservations at 5:30 got there at 5:25. No one greeted us though three employees locked eyes with us and did not acknowledge us as we waited outside for 7 minutes. My brother finally went inside since it was our first time and we didn't know it there was a hostess stand inside or not- the employee inside was dismissive and said the hostess is taking a to go order right now and told us to wait in a demeaning manner. When inside we saw on their menu that they are slow and that they have a 3.99% credit card fee... wish they told us when I made the reservation so I could bring cash. They also wrote on the back of the menu. if you don't leave a tip with the server, 20% will be charged. We ordered appetizers and entrees- my mom and I wanted to share , there is a surcharge for sharing (our server graciously waived) The restaurant is small- just a handful of indoor tables but decent amount of seating outside; though fairly hot. Food was alright- but pricey even without protein. Nothing to write home about. Our waiter Logan was good, but overall not the best experience.

After reading the 4.5 Star Yelp reviews and a couple failed attempts to get reservations, we finally got our chance to try it for ourselves. Unfortunately, Bonelli's does not live up to the Hype for us. Growing up around Upstate NY Italians, I've enjoyed an endless amount of delicious authentic Italian Food and Bonelli's was not it. The inside of the restaurant was very small, with limited seating. The outside covered patio with was much bigger than the inside. We ordered Salbo's Meatballs which were moist and tender but the flavor was more Mediterranean than Italian. Dad's Mushrooms had almost the same Med flavor but greasy and gritty. I ordered a small side of Alfredo Sauce for my wife which the server had to ask permission from the chef to get it. All in all, I'm glad we tried it for ourselves, but still need to find a favorite Italian Food in Pensacola.

Friendly staff and atmosphere! Was so excited to finally try this resturant! Took my sister there for her BD. The special of the night was lemoncello flights. No lemon cello was available.they had watermelon??? Honestly, the food was just terrible! Example: chicken parmignon...chicken appeared to have been boiled, dusted with raw breadcrumbs and covered with mozzarella, pasta was almost raw..and I like al dented! The lasagna was weird, came in a casserole dish and was just a mixed mess. Would not reccomend if you truly like Italian food!

The food and service was a 10/10! The staff was very kind and attentive. They made sure to provide updates to us while we waited, but the food... one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever experienced. You can taste the love and authenticity of each dish and so does everyone else in Pensacola! The lines were wrapped around the building on a Tuesday, get in early or book a reservation soon. It won't disappoint.

My husband and I love Italian Cuisine and since moving to Pensacola a year and a half ago we have been looking for our favorite local Italian restaurant. I read the raves about it including the 4.3 stars on Yelp and we decided to try. Upon arrival at the restaurant, we were surprised to find how small dark & dingy the inside of the restaurant was. I requested the meatballs with Alfredo sauce just to be told No. It was explained the meatballs are cooked in the red sauce. And the cook was not willing to accommodate my request. Regardless we ordered the Salbo's Meatballs. Scrapping off the red sauce & eating it with the "I Know It Was You Alfredo Sauce". The meatballs had a delicious flavor with a mixture of spices & very moist. I have to say the Alfredo sauce did not live up to the hype online. Lacking both flavor and salt. The food is overpriced.

All around amazing!!! The food was incredible and the service was just as good. Sweet little mom and pop restaurant. We were impressed with every part of our meal. Though without knowing it is a small business, the decor was a little concerning, we were made into believers with the first bite. 10/10 and will absolutely be returning next time we're in town!!

Authentic, Authentic, Authentic. I say again Authentic Italian food! The best Italian food in Pensacola, by far. My wife and I shared the Special - baked pasta with Diablo and chocolate sauce, and Greek salads. The rest of the family had chicken Parmesan and baked ravioli. Everyone loved their meals. The server was on top of everything and very knowledgeable about the menu and wines and she was very friendly. It was my mother's 85th birthday and the hostess and server went out of their way to make sure it was a delightful and delicious evening.

Everyone is town says this place is a must but I was a little disappointed. I called for a reservation day of and they were able to fit us in right at 5pm which was great. When we got to the restaurant we were very rudely approached by the hostess. She almost yelled at us "we're full" before we could even get a word out about our reservation. Thankfully there was a server nearby that saw this interaction and took care of us. After that experience I almost wanted to leave but my mother convinced me to stay and dine. We were greeted by our server Grae and he was wonderful! He completely turned our experience around! The caprese was wonderful and so was the German chocolate cake! I think I may take some time returning due to the beginning of my experience but I will return.

How is the dress code? We will be on vacation in the area and wanted to pack appropriately? Thanks for any info! 😎

Jeans and a nice shirt is fine. I wouldn't wear flip flops either overall pretty casual.

That was me heading into Angelena's Ristorante Italiano. By this point, I was fully expecting the usual "it's amazing" translation, which in restaurant terms often means nice lighting, tiny portions, and flavors that peaked at olive oil. Instead, this place did the unthinkable. It actually lived up to the hype. The menu reads like a beautiful collection of words I absolutely cannot pronounce with confidence, but luckily fluency in Italian is not required when your taste buds immediately understand the assignment. I went with the bolognese lasagna, and this thing came out like a love letter to comfort food. Rich, bold, deeply flavorful, and gloriously rustic, the kind of dish that tastes like somebody's grandmother has been perfecting it since the Roman Empire. Every bite had depth. Nothing fussy, nothing trying too hard, just serious flavor delivered with confidence. The focaccia showed up doing exactly what great bread should do: crisp in the right places, soft where it counts, and impossible to stop tearing apart even when you know your entrée is on deck. The appetizer played a completely different game, more delicate, more refined, and smart enough to leave me wanting the next course instead of filling me up before the main event. That's restraint. That's craft. That's a kitchen that knows what it's doing. And the room matches the food. Clean, classy, polished without feeling stiff. The kind of place where everything from the lighting to the plate placement quietly reminds you that yes, somebody here cares. Service was equally dialed in. Professional, on point, and smooth enough that the whole meal just flowed. No awkward gaps, no disappearing acts, no "how is everything?" drive-bys while your mouth is full. This is the rare restaurant that survives workplace hype and then casually exceeds it. Five stars. Angelena's didn't just meet expectations, it made my coworkers look smarter for recommending it.

It wasn't bad, just nothing special. I had the curry wurst the first time I was here, which was nothing like the Curry Wurst in Berlin. Tasted like an American interpretation. This time I had the buffalo wings, which were decent, definitely better than the curry wurst. My mom had the Jaeger Schnitzel, which came with potatoes, she also ordered a side of red cabbage. Jaeger Schnitzel was ok, potatoes were fine. I did like the red cabbage, but it is vinegary, which is the way I prefer it. I noticed other reviewers mentioned this as well. I had the apple strudel. It looked like the ice cream was plated over a week ago, I don't know how to better explain it. The whipped cream was frozen in the center. The strudel was good, but you could tell it had been made a while ago and they had reheated it. It did not come with berries and powdered sugar like it showed on in other pictures on-line. The only staff that seemed to enjoy working there were the young new trainees, you could tell the rest of the staff didn't really want to be there. The deck is quite enjoyable for a number of reasons. It is shaded and surrounded by lush vegetation and it's much quieter than inside and more conducive to conversation, especially for folks like me who have profound hearing issues. Service is prompt and attentive here. We decided to share the hot pastrami on rye and the antipasto salad. As you can see from the pic the sandwich is ginormous. So good. The antipasto salad here is unlike any I've ever had in my 77 years! It is composed totally of Capicolla, Genoa, and cotto salami, pepperoni, provolone, Swiss and mozzarella cheese, green and black olives, and artichokes marinated in an Italian dressing. There is no lettuce as in all the antipasto salads I've had before. It is absolutely delicious. We were unable to finish our shared portions of the salad and took easily a whole half portion home to enjoy later. As I'm sure I've said before, there's a reason this store is always packed.
