The smell instantly transported me back to my adolescence, when I worked at an ice cream shop on Catalina Island. It's amazing how something as simple as a scent can bring back such wonderful memories. Their homemade candies are absolutely decadent and bursting with flavor. It's impossible to leave with just one treat! My all-time favorite is their newest addition--the Dubai Buckeye. If you love rich chocolate, creamy, nutty pistachio filling mixed with kataifi (shredded phyllo dough), you have to try it. Don't leave without grabbing a bag of their Nutcracker Sweets. It's so much more than caramel corn--it's an irresistible blend of fresh popcorn, crunchy almonds, buttery pecans, and rich homemade caramel. The sweet and salty combination is absolutely addictive, and I can promise you that you won't stop after just a handful! As for the ice cream, narrowing it down to just one favorite is nearly impossible. The Chocolate Peanut Butter is incredibly rich and chocolatey, with ribbons of creamy peanut butter swirled throughout every bite. It's the perfect combination for any chocolate and peanut butter lover. Another flavor I can't get enough of is the New Orleans Praline Pecan. It's unbelievably creamy, loaded with crunchy praline pecans, and swirled with sweet caramel that brings everything together. Every bite is rich, buttery, and absolutely delicious--it keeps me coming back for more. Whether you're stopping in for a scoop of ice cream, a box of homemade candy, or both, this place never disappoints. I've eaten a lot of pie over the years, homemade, fresh baked from a bakery and from the freezer, this peach pie was one of the best peach pies I have ever ever ever eaten hands down. The crust and lattice work was amazing, the pie was loaded with larges slices of peaches folded into a slight tart filling and for me the most impressive feature of the pie besides the taste was the texture of the fruit which was still relatively firm instead of being mushy like you get in some fruit pies. I am definitely a fan of this bakery and fortunately for me I have a camping trip planned next month in very close proximity to them and will absolutely pay them an in person visit to see what other goodies they have to offer and to fill my freezer. Southern Baked Pie Company is definitely a company you should try...

The sign on the door was flipped to "open" (see attached pic). I went in and was informed upon entering that they closed at 4. They were very nice about it but they were in the process of cleaning. The friendly faces and the warm smiles that greet you are truly one of a kind. I went there for breakfast with my sister, and the homemade apple danish was absolutely delicious. I also ordered a coffee and it was delivered with a smile, and they ask if you want cream or sugar right at the counter. They also have a coffee kiosk area, where you can add your own cream and sugar. We were able to sit inside for as long as we wanted, and our server, Stephanie, came over to make sure that my coffee was hot and asked if I wanted a refresher. You have to understand that this is not a full restaurant, but a beautiful bakery that serves breakfast and lunch items for Pick-Up or eat in as they have tables available, but it is not a large place. While the new spots are fine, we decided to revisit Inman today. In my opinion, they're still the best coffee shop in town. First, the coffee quality is on another level. You can really taste the pride they take in selecting their beans. I ordered the "Fresh Start" latte with coconut milk, and it was easily the best latte I've had in Gainesville. They have the most impressive selection of non-dairy options I've seen. Most places only carry oat or almond, so finding coconut milk was a huge win for me. They also have a massive coffee menu with specialty items I haven't seen elsewhere, like a Breve! My husband got an iced mocha and a panini and absolutely loved both. Second, the food menu is incredible, especially if you have dietary restrictions. I have gluten and dairy sensitivities, and usually, my options are limited. Inman has the biggest gluten-free menu in the area--GF muffins, brownies, and actual GF bread options. I got the avocado toast on gluten-free bread topped with scrambled eggs. The bread was delicious (not cardboard-like at all!), the avocado was fresh, and the eggs were perfect. If you've been distracted by the newer shops, do yourself a favor and go back to Inman. Between the extensive menu, the high-quality coffee, and the dietary options, they are beating the competition by a mile.

The only patience needed to prepare this food order was the time the toaster needed to do its job and that bread maybe experienced heat for 30 seconds. The trainee at the register was extremely pleasant but should not be left to manage the register, and juggling drinks while two more experienced employees appeared to have absolutely no sense of purpose or urgency. The onboarding program is sink or swim. The staff deserves better than that. I kept my drink but asked for a refund on the meal. It tasted like the effort put into making it...nothing.
