Super chicken is super Delicious. Yep, these Peruvian rotisserie chicken places are all over nowadays, but El Pollo Loco in Arlington and Super Chicken in Vienna are pretty darn good (well, El Pollo Loco is the best in the metro area, actually). The chicken is great. Before putting the chicken in the oven they rub the skin with some awesome spices that make it taste soooo good. Stick to the chicken and the yucca fries or the regular steak fries. The other sides are hit and miss, mostly on the overcooked side. Although the line is to the door at lunch, the servers are pretty quick and before you know it you are holding a dish of deliciousness in your hands. Oh my. I came here for the first time on day where the A/C was broken and the humidity was a billion percent. Didn't matter. The chicken here is bonkers. Roasted perfectly crispy and still juicy. This restaurant was excellent. Visited on a whim while passing through the area. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the staff was friendly. I had the chicken taco salad, a huge, heaping portion of juicy, flavorful chicken, with guacamole, beans, and lettuce, all in a big fried tortilla shell bowl. The salad was great. They seem to be still working out a few kinks as a newly opened restaurant, as one part of our order (the plantains) went missing initially. Once we notified the guy at the register about the omission, he was quick to remedy the situation. I think as they settle in and are in business longer, the minor problems will go away. This is the best chicken I have ever had. I've been here a few times with friends. I haven't had a chance to go to their other location(s) yet but will in the future. The yellow honey mustard sauce they have with the chicken is amazing and compliments their succulent fall off the bone chicken. Good prices too mean that everyone should eat here. My only complaint is this location either doesn't have or doesn't use air conditioning, which during this current heat wave with a oven running inside doesn't make for pleasurable dinning conditions. read more

Delicious food. I tried the pollo saltado just because I'm not a fan of chicken on the bone (wimp... I know) and it was awesome. My boyfriend got dark meat chicken and thought it was delicious, but I think he liked my dish more for the unique seasoning and sauce. Yucca was great, as were the sauces. For me, the second best Pollo a la braza in terms of taste (El Pollo Rico is better imho), but the sides here are better (I like the fried yucca and white rice), and usually buy my own tortillas at the grocery to eat at home (why take two tiny tortillas as a side dish, when you can get a whole bag of them at the grocery?) I eat them "El Pollo loco style", putting rice with the chicken deboned, on a tortilla, with green sauce heaped on top. Flavor is excellent always. Only reason I give this play 4 instead of 5 is the cashier guy. Used to be friendlier service at this place. The one manager (NON-Latino guy) there that runs the cashier is always dour faced, and he is so stingy with the green sauce packets. Some evenings, the thought of having to hand that guy money and try to coax him into giving me the right number of little green sauce packs, sometimes makes me decide not to go to Super chicken. Its tacky. I know they're so busy here, they don't care about losing 1 or 2 sales to attitude, but hey, its still amazing chicken, and a decent price (used to be quite a bit cheaper only a few years ago) The shorter, friendlier guy who cooks the chicken is great, has been there longer than the cashier guy. Always working hard on that rotisserie. He's so fast at cutting those chickens. Eating in is divey, definitely. Would not take a date here. read more

I absolutely love Super Chicken! I usually get the chicken with the two side orders. I especially like getting the soup, pasta salad or fries as side orders. I've only eaten at the restaurant once, but when I go there I see it's so amazingly clean. Their chicken is as good as it looks. If you look at the back wall, you can see them smoking their chicken. The food here is delicious. I had the half chicken with two sides. The portions are plenty and I have enough food left for dinner tonight, not bad for about 13 bucks with the plantains and fountain drink. Chicken is juicy and flavored perfectly. They give you two sauces white and one green. The white is great and I used both containers for a quarter chicken. I bought 2 extra for 50 cent for my dinner leftovers. The chicken fried rice is good, I will try something else next time. The plantains are fresh and delicious. Plenty of sides to choose from and many menu options. Men's bathroom was ok, just passed lunch rush so I give them a pass this time, did need some work. Floor in bathroom was very slippery and someone could fall. Seating was plentiful and they had 80's and 90's dance music playing, interesting to listen to "rythem is a dancer" while eating my Peruvian chicken lol. The food is decent. However the day I went, the AC was off. It's too hot and humid to truly enjoy my chicken. The fried yucca and chick peas are tasty, but again hard to enjoy in this heat. This has been a long time favorite of mine as many who know me can attest. It's addicting and delicious, so be careful, because as soon as you have some you will want more! It's hard to make a recommendation because it's all wonderful. The first time I came I had the burrito and it was outstanding. The second time, I had the taco salad bowl. The third time and just about every time since, I ordered my staple: 1/2 chicken (light&dark), rice & beans (some locations will count them as two sides but this one lets me get away with it sometimes) and yucca. Oh, the yucca. Don't waste your time with fries you can get literally anywhere. The yucca, especially dipped in the green sauce, is outstanding. I'm not a big fan of the yellow sauce- the green sauce is where it's at for me. I like the consistency of this sauce best too. A lot of Peruvian chicken restaurants make it more watery, but this has a nice consistency that balances the spice very well. Every meal I've had is fantastic, I just like to get the 1/2 chicken because the price is so reasonable and then I can have leftovers the next day. The chicken here is delicious and never dry. I love the various selection of sides that you can order with your chicken. The line moves fairly fast. For other dishes like lomo saltado, you have to order it and wait a few minutes to get it brought to your table. On Friday lunchtimes, it gets busy and the line can extend to the door entrance. Seating is ample as lots of people do take out, and they usually have 2 large TV's lockd on some Spanish speaking channels. Parking is ample, too. The prices are very reasonable. read more

This is the best Charcoal Chicken i have ever had, wow! I do not know how they season it but its so flavorful. So glad we stumbled into this joint one day we were starving (HANGRY). Place is always packed, service is good and quick, price is perfect for the amount of food served. The fried Yuca, love!, and i mix their spicy green sauce with their yellow sauce to dip the yuca. I travel for work a lot and looked up a close-by Peruvian spot in the Vienna/Tysons area. I came across Super Chicken and as soon as I parked, I could smell the goodies. I was VERY pleased not only by the different variety of sides, but the portion servings as well. I tried the Lomo Saltado several times (delicious!), yucca, rice, black beans, Pollo a la Brasa, and to drink I had chicha morada (which was also very tasty). I was hooked and returned many, many times during my stay. One day I arrived at around lunch time and the ordering line was all the way out their double doors. They also sell other non Peruvian items to please everyone. Try it, you wont be disappointed!! :-) read more

OMG! Was blown away and had the best lunch I have had in a LONG time. In Tyson's you get used to the usual office building cafe's. Today I decided to venture out in my car and was so happy that I did. Food was wonderfully seasoned, especially the chicken and fried rice. Can't wait to go back. First timer for Peruvian chicken. We did take out, half a chicken white meat. Scary to watch that guy whack the chicken with his little machete! I had no idea what yucca was like and asked if I could taste it and was given nice two pieces. Liked it, ordered it, along with mashed potatoes (which were a little too creamy for my taste but I baked them at home that crisped them up a bit and they were good) . The half chicken with two sides was, with tax, $9.19 and my husband and I had half a chicken left over for later and a little of the potatoes. No language barrier noted, by the way, which often happens in fast and semi-fast food places in NoVa, and it was incredibly quick service. I liked the yellow sauce, but boy, stay away from that green stuff unless you really need to clear the sinuses because it will hurt you. For 4 dinners at less than $10, it certainly was a price performer and I had never thought of cumin for chicken, but I am sure that was the spice. Parking is plentiful enough, but getting in there is a problem as long as Metro is under construction. Still, while service was incredibly fast, the place was jammed. read more
