Gonna give it a 3.5. Good chicken good yucca but was nothing special. The chicken had pretty decent flavor and was cooked decently but wasn't super juicy (maybe just that batch). The flavor was good on the skin but I expected a little more when it comes down to the meat. Yucca was pretty average. They wernt over fried and super crunchy like a lot of places. The fried rice was probably the best thing about this meal. Not just regular fried rice but had an extra little umph in flavor. The gripe I have with a lot of places (including here) is that they charge you for extra sauce. I mean if it was a small mom and pop...sure I can understand a little more, but the line here was practically to the door...come on. read more

***3.5 Stars*** Finally finally! A Peruvian chicken place in the TyCo area for me to get my chicken fix! Yeah son!! I hit this place a few weeks ago around the time this place first opened. Prior to this visit, I had driven by the big "Coming Soon Super Chicken" sign many many times and knew I had to try out this new place sometime soon. I managed to drag a few coworkers with me for a chicken run and we were all pretty excited to try out Super Chicken. As we pulled into the parking lot (Super Chicken is located directly behind the Hour Eyes in Tysons Corner, in the same parking lot as Marshalls and Sports Authority), I could already smell the delicious odoriferous emanations coming from the Super Chicken kitchen. Ummm...the sweet sweet smell of Peruvian style rotisserie chicken. Follow your nose, it always knows... :-) We arrived shortly after 11:30am in order to beat any potential lunchtime rush. Boy, we were smart! As soon as we walked in, a huge crowd of patrons lined up behind us. It was as if they were waiting for us to arrive and then said, "Hey, let's get in line behind the fat kid!" The inside of Super Chicken was brand spankin' new. Everything was clean and the layout was bright and spacious with plenty of natural light coming in via the huge front windows. The inside also had that delicious rotisserie chicken smell that added to the rumble in my tummy as I waited to place my order. In line, I scanned the side offerings which were astoundingly plentiful. There were beans, fried rice, fried yucca, french fries, corn, fried plantains (my favorite) and all sorts of yummy offerings. I decided on a 1/4 chicken dark with a side of pinto beans, fried yucca and fried plantains. The service line was quick and very efficient in putting my plate of food together. Even the register lady was quick and I was in and outta that line in no time. Finding a table, our group sat down and we proceeded to tear into our chicken like raptors tearing into Sam Jackson in the first Jurassic Park. The chicken was delicious, but the spices weren't the same as other Peruvian chicken joints like Pollo Rico. The meat was juicy and tender with a skin that was crispy and delicious. In my opinion the side items were the stars as each of my choices were taste-a-licious. The fried yucca was crispy with a moist inside and the beans had a great mix of spices and flavor. My fried plantains were super sweet and cooked perfectly in that way I love where the outside caramelizes and adds a slight crispy candied outside to the plantains. I was happy with my meal and thought the chicken was good, but not the best Peruvian style chicken I had sampled. What a great discovery! There is some awesome Peruvian chicken sold at this place. And I highly recommend the mashed potatoes because the gravy is sooo so good. But I think all the sides are amazing - they have so many choices and probably one of their biggest assets. My co-workers and I were trying to think of something new to do for dinner near Tysons and settled on roasted chicken. Got out my trusty Yelp app and found Super Chicken was right up the street. Plus, I have a couple of Yelp friends that check-in at this spot all the time and swear by it. Decision made. And we were not disappointed - this place fills the bill as the chicken is just amazing. There is a distinct open fire taste to the skin and the meat inside is was so juicy and full of flavor. The only drawbacks I can write is the poor location #1. It sits in a strip mall that is blocked by all the construction going on. Getting in and out can end up being a real pain. There is also a little bit of a language barrier among the staff. This is probably one of the best lunch spots in Tysons. For about $7, you can get a quarter dark meal with 2 sides. This is cheaper than any of the food trucks by far. Be warned that the line tends to get pretty long, but it generally moves fast. The chicken is just absolutely amazing. Perfectly seasoned and cooked almost every single time I go here (about once a week), the chicken is so juicy it just melts in your mouth. The menu includes things like chicken fried rice, chicken cheese steaks, cheese steaks, carne asada and much more. Personally, I just get the quarter chicken meal cuz it's super fast and I'm in and out of there in about under 5 minutes. Hands down, this is the best-priced, best-flavored Peruvian chicken within the Belt. I'm actually surprised that it's a chain -- I'm not sure about the other locations, but the quality and delivery of the dishes resembles those of smaller home-grilled Peruvian restaurants. Staff is fast and efficient and you are in and out or dinning in just a few minutes. I usually get the quarter chicken and two sides. By the line in this place I assumed the meal was going to knock me off my feet! I'll tell ya looks can be deceiving! I had two chicken breasts (skin still on) covered in their special sauce with two sides. The chicken had been flattened (??) out and it really wasn't all that tasty. I'm not into skin so I had to peel that layer off first which took away most of the flavor. The pieces were decent size though so if you like eating the skin I guess the chicken breasts might be more up your alley. Next time I'll go chicken on the bone for sure. The rotisserie chicken did look delicious and juicy. The sides I had were just bland. I ordered fried rice and steamed veggies. The veggies were veggies so no complaint there. Have been taking out from here for years, and is a regular staple for us. Obviously not a white tablecloth culinary experience, but cannot get any fresher and consistent with value to boot. Love the seasoned chicken, spicy garbanzos and green sauce. Fried rice and black beans are nice but mild sides. Yucca is nice but can depend on latest fried batch, but you know it has not been sitting under a lamp, depends how you like it. Have not tried any of the other dishes. I ordered pick up during peak lunch hours and it was ready on time. The place was crowded as expected. The restaurant is located in a huge parking lot/shopping center so parking isn't an issue. I ordered the quarter dark with chick peas and steamed veggies and got two small cups of sauces, one green (spicy) and yellow (more mild and mustard like). The sides were pretty good, the chickpeas is in a curry broth. Now for the chicken, it tasted really good and it was well seasoned. It was a little salty but nothing too bad. However I noticed even though I ordered dark meat, the chicken was mostly pink.( I'll post photos). I lost my appetite afterwards and couldn't finish all of it. 3.5 * This isn't as good as El Pollo Rico, but it's a decent alternative and has a couple things going for it in addition to the food: Tysons Corner needed a good chicken place, there is a ton of parking, it is nice and new. On the food side, the chicken was good, but not amazing. It was juicy and flavorful, but the skin wasn't as crispy as I'd like and was a bit oily. The yucca fries were better than the ones I had at Super Chicken in Falls Church, these ones weren't dried out and were well fried. The cole slaw was okay, but had more mayo than I like, but I don't really like mayo, so it should be fine for most people. We also tried what looked like a shortbread-chocolate sandwich cookie, but it turned out to be hazelnut not chocolate, which was a bit of a disappointment. If I worked in the area I would probably eat here regularly since I love peruvian chicken, and the quality-convenience balance of it may bring us back sooner rather than later. read more

4.5 stars My favorite Peruvian chicken place! About time they opened one of these places in Tysons Corner. I'm surprised it took so long. If you are in the area and need to scratch that Peruvian chicken itch (okay, not the most appetizing description), you will not be disappointed here. Not as good as El Pollo Rico (THE BEST), but it is still VERY good. They have a wide variety of sides to choose from which I like. I tend to stick to the classics like yucca fries and salad, but I understand people have differing tastes and it's nice that they give you options. As one of your side options, try mixing the regular salad with the onion/tomato salad. It gives the regular salad an extra kick and goes great with the chicken. The green and yellow sauces are delicious, and after many visits I have yet to be charged for asking for extra sauce. This location hasn't been around long so the interior is brand new, clean and has lots of seating, even booths. Parking is never a problem. The only annoying thing is with all the Metro construction happening on Leesburg Pike, you can only access the shopping center where it is located if you are on Rte 7 going eastbound. Check this place out if you haven't already. Oh, and do not cut in line in front of the big Filipino guy with the shaved head who comes here on a weekly basis. I will HURT you :( read more

We come here almost every week. Their food is consistent and delicious. The staff could use more attention to detail when touching my container. For example they touch everything such as the cash register with their gloves but also touch/handle my food container. It would be helpful if they paid extra attention to this.
