5 stars for excellent chicken! I am a sucker for peruvian chicken and could eat it everyday. ANNNDDD their yellow sauce is good, which can be rare to have good sauce and chicken at one place. I won't say they are better than Waku Chicken (the best) on this side of town but pretty damn close. The huge portion of fries came to me hot and perfectly crispy. The plantains is one complaint, they seemed dry like they've been there all day..not a fan. Definitely will be back to get more chicken! read more

Just picked up 1/2 chicken with beans and yucca yesterday and somehow the chicken was even more amazing! Crispy skin crispy yucca and food was a lot less salty and BEANS were sooo good. Food was okay; nothing really authentic tasting to me. The chicken Saltado was ladened in some sauce that tasted like soy sauce which isn't what this dish is supposed to be like at all. I had it to go and the container could barely hold the food. Sauce spilled all over inside the bag which made eating a mess. Service was horrible. The chicken is indeed- SUPER. Very moist and juicy. You won't be disappointed. I had the dark meat and it was very large portion. The sides are the very same- HOW EVER.. the reason this is 4/5 stars is because, me being Puerto Rican- I feel that rice AND beans should be considered one side. Not separated. Chicken it self should be a 4 star the sides are what kills this place. Mashed potatoes are so nasty and water down. The corn on the cob is either sold out or nasty due to it's been recooked a dozen times. Remove half the sides since non of it is any good and maybe focus on sides people want. I've had lomo saltados at the Country Club in Lima, at Michelin-starred restaurants, etc etc, and this is one of the best lomo saltados I've had in awhile! What sets it apart from other lomo saltados is the sauce -- it's thick almost like gravy. It's got the right balance of soy sauce and cilantro. A lot of places will overpower you with the cilantro, but not this place. I highly recommend checking out the lomo saltados here. The only room for improvement I have for management is that I tried to call my order in but the phone was busy. I would prefer to order with the restaurant directly and cut out the middlemen like grub hub, door dash, etc since we all know they gouge restaurants. read more

I am so happy I wandered inside. I like to get a family special - whole chicken with large sides. The chicken is delicious. The yucca is crispy. The onion salad is weirdly addicting and goes perfectly with the chicken. It's nice to find a place to quickly grab dinner and lunch for the next day without breaking the bank! I felt really nasty after eating here...rapid heartbeat, a splitting headache, dry mouth and general sense of malaise...MSG-type symptoms. The sides (beans and yucca) tasted like they were straiggt out of the can and frozen/reheated (respectively). They were both a bit mushy as well. The chicken itself had a ridiculously salty skin (and this is coming from someone who likes his food more salty than most) and a funny flavor. I want to like this place because I love Peruvian-style chicken and there's not a lot of good places in Sterling, but something in the food just made me feel like garbage and it just didn't taste all that fresh either. Ghastly-- absolutely ghastly. The place is filthy, the service is hurried, the yuca was pre-fried and sitting in a warmer so it was hard, dry, and not hot. The burrito was lukewarm-- tasted like they threw it in a microwave. The trash was overflowing and all tables were dirty. No effort was made to clean. I hope we don't get sick. Not only is the chicken moist and delicious but their carna asada is amazing too. My husband goes here for lunch once and a while and has been raving about it for a couple months. I was finally able to go this weekend. It was packed in the restaurant but all of the staff were friendly and the food was amazing. I enjoyed both sauces and the fried rice as well. A few days ago I went to this restaurant, they sold me a raw chicken. I talked to the manager of this restaurant and he was very rude when he didn't want to change the chicken, apparently this restaurant is selling raw chicken, I really don't recommend it at all. Cheap, juicy, and delicious! All the things I want from my chicken. Here at Super Chicken, you can order either a quarter chicken or a half chicken, or you can get one of their chicken dishes. A quarter chicken is definitely enough for a single meal though, considering the heaping portions of sides you get. If you order the half or quarter chicken, you can choose from a variety of sides. My personal favorite are the fried plantains. They're sweet, crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle, and you get a HUGE pile of them. With your chicken you also get two sauces. There is one green sauce that is a little bit spicy and very herbaceous, and another sauce that is thicker and less spicy. Both pair very well with the chicken, although the chicken is good enough to eat on its own! You can choose to sit inside or outside, and the staff is very nice and friendly. This is a cafeteria style restaurant with seating both inside and (in warm weather) out. The outside seating is right along the mall drive which is noisy to me. It's very new (opened summer 2017) and seems very clean. You order your food, pay and sit down or take out ( no delivery, alas). The staff have been friendly, occasionally shy, but positive. I think the chicken here is delicious. They use a flavorful combination of spices which goes all the way into the meat, flavor in every bite, not just coating on the outside. Its a bit saltyIt's the tastiest Peruvian chicken I've had in NOVa, and moist and succulent every time I've had it. The price is average for this type of food. $8 for 1/4 chicken, up to a whole chicken plus 4 sides, family meal for $22. They have a wide variety of sides: plantains, fries, Cole slaw, lettuce salad ( get the house dressing), potato salad, pasta salad, mashed potatoes, pinto and black beans (nice and garlicky), sweet corn, spinach, and a couple more I don't remember. The portions are very generous. If you order other than chicken they give you a number and you wait a bit for it. I keep going for the chicken so haven't tries much else. I've gotten hooked on their green Aji sauce which I dip each bite of chicken into. It is moderately hot ( Jalapenos), a bit salty, and might have some oil in it. It's so good I can eat it straight, with a spoon. Online recipes say it has cilantro and mayo and some Peruvian herb, in it but it doesn't taste like it does, to me. They have a second mayo based sauce also, but my favorite is the green sauce. read more

I really want to give this place 4 stars, but there are two reasons why I can't: - It is so damn LOUD in here that you basically risk walking out with a headache if you choose to stay and eat inside. The music is played way too loud, so all the patrons raise their voices to carry on lunchtime conversations. The result is an an ever increasing din due to music and conversations. - None of the sides are labeled and if you ask what it is; they start putting it on the plate, before you commit to it. Also, saw them take away fries sitting under a lamp, then mix in with fresh fries and put back under lamp. Hey how about just dumping the old fries out? The food here is very good, although I have had some better chicken at some local Chicago joints. That said, for the price: you get a very good meal. I have been there 3 times since February and each time, I was treated poorly. Yesterday, I was charged for sauces that I didn't even receive. The time before that, I asked to wait for fresh chicken and the guy got an attitude and told me the chicken in his hand was fresh. The time before that, I was treated poorly over a side. I called today to speak to a manager but forgot to call back by noon to speak to him. I want to see him in person so I can point out the people who are nasty at his establishment. I will in the meantime, take my business elsewhere. Went here today with my daughter and friend. We went in and were trying to order. My daughter sees a worm on the floor while I'm trying to order. I hurried and ordered, ignoring my daughter (which I shouldn't have done). We sat down to eat and start noticing there are a lot of flies. As we're eating I get up to close the blinds and a dead fly fell out. Then I notice there are dead flies on the floor. On the way home we start talking about the amount of flies in there and my daughter keeps saying it was a larvae (she's 4). I finally hear what she's saying. It was a maggot on the floor. We pulled up on a Sunday at 8:50. We got our orders together and parked and by the time we got to the car they were closed. Even though the time says 9:30pm on several internet sites including here. They said " oh we close at 9 today". She then tried to say there we no more chicken. However, as we sat out front all the food was visible at 8:50 had been put in the back. The BEST Peruvian chicken place. This branch is my favorite, way better than the one in Tyson's. Their yellow sauce is amazing and I always get DOUBLE fried rice. It's annoying they ask you to pay extra for extra sauces especially since they are so little. They give you a specific number or sauces depending on how much chicken you order. I always ask for all yellow sauce instead of the green because that's what I prefer. I would highly recommend this restaurant to my friends. They also stay open pretty late which helps if I'm craving it later at night and don't want fast food. read more

This is some wickedly good chicken. The sides are average, but you don't come here for the sides. Highly recommended.
