So the food is ok, very casual atmosphere and a lot of times seems super crowded. It seems the close for a whole hour and a half to transition from lunch to dinner. They charge per person and it's overpriced. read more

So this place get 3 stars almost entirely because it's the ONLY Chinese buffet around town. It is truly a 2 star based on the quality of the food. HOWEVER, the variety offered is tremendous. Great selection of seafood including crawdads, octopus, clams, mussels, and even frog legs (I think that's more swamp food) The "Chinese" style entree items are nowhere close to any other Chinese food, panda express' tastes better, but again lots of choices. Spare ribs, sweet n sour chkn, orange chkn, rice, noodles, soups, dumplings. The continental food was also plentiful but even my six year old said "yuk I don't like this pizza or French fries." But chicken wings, potato skins, chicken skewers, and other popular "American" fried foods make it worth s try. The desert was decent, soft serve: chocolate, vanilla, swirl. Jello squares, cheesecake etc... The food I cannot say was "good" but there was so much of it, my kids and I literally "wowed" in amazement. But be warned, there is a $5 fee if you waste food, which is a sign they have posted all around the dinning area. Nothing special about the staff. I guess some people consider it rude to not be friendly and engaging, which this staff is not. But this not a place you go for excellent customer service. Sum it up. This place is quantity over quality. I can't say I'll go back, but IT IS the only "Chinese" buffet around this area. read more

Super Buffet - Don't know, didn't try, but the fact that it's here... Astonishing - Chinese Near Me - Santa Rosa, California

$15.99 for weekends. Lots of food choices. Quality could be better, but it's expected from a buffet. This is my 2nd time here at super Buffet during lunch. Don't know how different dinner menu is. Good experience for both times. Every time I cross the bay, I look forward to these cheaper buffets. Definitely a better deal than the buffets near San Francisco like Moonstar or Kome. read more

Would give zero stars if possible. This place discrimiates people for appearance. A homeless man came up to my husband and asked for food, we were paying for him to dine in and they didnt allow him to sit down. The told him it had to be to go and charged us almost 30 dollars. When it cost 18 to sit and eat anything. RIDICULOUS. read more

I had been here once before about 2 years ago and it was decent, when I had left the guy came running out telling me we did not pay, (at a buffet you have to pay before you eat) and I showed him my receipt and he snatched it from my hand. Just recently I came with my friend because I decided to take another shot at it and it was outside dining (due to covid). We paid and were taken to get our food, there was hardly any selection and so I just picked a few things and sat down. My food was cold, chowmein was sticky and over all I was just disappointed in the food it was terrible. I had one bite and ate somewhere else. waste of 25$ read more

I came in alone with a big appetite and left with a full stomach. I came around 6pm it was dinner time. It was $19.50 for dinner. All the food looked very good and smelled delicious. I had two plates One with two types of crab that they have idk if it was garlic crab or what but it was good. The other plate with a mixture of shrimp , rice, chow mein and calamari. The shrimps were by far my favorite with the calamari. I wasn't a big fan of the chow mein, I've had better. The waitress was very friendly came by a few times I only had one soda. I tried to go back for another plate but I tapped out. I give this spot a 3 star because the food and service was good. If you like buffets check this spot out if your nearby or in town. read more

Don't be looking for gourmet, hand-made, specialty ingredients. The food is good but not great but what do you expect for $14/person all-you-can-eat Chinese food. There is a really good selection, including some items I would not expect (or eat) at a Chinese buffet (peperoni pizza, sushi). The food is hot and plentiful and the keep the steam tables full. When something runs low or out, they replace it right away. I particularly like the spare ribs and the fried, sesame seed dessert balls. (Sorry, but I have no idea what they are called and I know that they cannot be good for you but they sure are tasty.) We go a few times a year and the service is generally pretty good. Not outrageously, over-the-top amazing but prompt and courteous. This evening when we went, I had to specifically ask for the senior discount for my in-laws, which was not a huge deal but a little annoying. He gave us the discount off the total, post tax. When I asked him to back out the tax, too, he not only refused but continued to belabor his case. I would have argued the point, but it was not worth it for what amounted to about $.25 and I did not want to make a scene in front of my family. I guess maybe they are jaded because this kind of place must, by its nature, attract its fair share of tight wads. So, I guess if you are a senior, just tell them before the write up the check. read more

Many choices, plenty of seafood. Flavors were good. Guessing no msg, with fingers crossed! Wish they would label all items, hard to tell what is what! Crab and frog legs, oysters, shrimp... 14.99. So not Jersey. This is the best Asian buffet place we have found in cali. Rangoons were overcooked to the point the filling was cooked out. Egg rolls were good. Be nice to see more vegaterian options. read more

If i could give this place zero stars, I would....My boyfriend and I were curious about this buffet place. We walked in, payed and walked over to the line of food. None of it looked appetizing. The only things I felt safe eating were the egg rolls, fried rice, garlic bread, and chow mein . And even then, I am still nervous that I'm going to get food poisoning from this place. This place was truly awful... read more

Does not allow service dogs even though it is illegal. Makes people with disabilities feel like less of a person. We took a chance on a 2-star rating and I'm glad we did! We are from down south, Houston, Texas and this is the closest thing to a "good buffet" we have found so far. The food was delicious and so many things to pick from! We will be back. Only downfall is they are pricey. For two adults and two kids with drinks was $64! read more

I am giving this place a 5 star rating for several reasons. 1) it's clean. 2) the servers are very nice 3) the food was fresh and tasty for a buffet 4) bathrooms clean 5) price was right 6) crab! Who has all you can eat crab? And it was awesome. I didn't try everything but I tried a lot and it was all very good. I do not understand the complaints you def get what you pay for and then some! read more

The buffet restaurant isn't for everyone I guess. For my friend and I, it's a good place for all you can eat. Service is bare minimal due to one younger female worker gave me a face and asked for ID when I used debit but gave her cash instead because of her discontented face or perhaps disgruntled. For $15.95 plus tax, charged around $35.50 for 2. I don't think this place is worth the customer service but go ahead and give it a try. It's an all you can eat buffet anyway. read more

We went there last night. Food was ok. Shrimp were definitely not cleaned! Went back for seconds and most of the buffet dishes were empty or grossly to the bottom. Quality was surprisingly lacking this time. So we are sitting there eating and my fiancé wanted another soda. We had a hard time getting the servers attention. Finally, he takes a break from texting and brings the soda. While we are eating across from us three waiters were texting their lives away. I asked the Front Desk Manager if they could stop the texting as it was distracting and rude. They stopped for three minutes and went right back at it. One of the servers actually went by the table and as an act of aggression showed me he was texting and laughed. I went back to the manager and he stated there was nothing he could do about it and it was too bad. Well, tempers started flaring and they actualy kicked us out of the restaurant and we were told never to come back. A lady from the restaurant came out and apologized and said he was wrong. I think the servers might be relatives that are not appreciative of the jobs that they hold. We have been there many times and have never experienced that behavior. Well....the manager will get his request because I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!!! read more

I couldn't understand a word the lady said on the phone when I ordered the delivery. About an hour and 20 minutes later they show up, with the tasteless wonton soup's lid broken open and leaked all over the bag. For some reason, there were two people delivering the food. The guy told me the total (Somewhere around $32 I think), I handed him $40 and asked for change. With a puzzled look, he mumbled something incoherently so I assumed he needed exact change. The food tasted like 3 day old garbage that was in the sun the whole time. Flavorless broth and odd textured won tons. The General's chicken was chewy, and didn't taste very good. The pot stickers were slimey and cold. The combination chow mein was the worst of all, I would have rather have gone to Panda Express. I would not recommend this place, choose another. read more

Went there last night for dinner with my son...OMG...this place has really went downhill..I realize that a buffet is not the best place for good food...but still Half the trays ion the buffet area were empty....took forever to refill...sushi smelled like vinegar, which means it's spoiled...rice was lukewarm at best...everything was just crap...dog food would have been better...and when a teenager complains, you know it's bad...the only thing edible was the watermelon...not good... And oh my god..the place is filthy...had to use the restroom...shudder...I've seen better restrooms at a gas station...disgusting...i was expecting to see a rat run by.. How this place does not get shut down by the health Department is hard to explain i will NEVER be going back...never ever ever...if I could give a no star review I would read more

Its not good food. Its a buffet. $12 dinner. Chinese, Japanese, and American food. Don't try the sushi or the baked oysters. Food safety kind of freaked me out. They do have pretty unique items: deep fried crab legs, octopus, pork bun, fish cakes, snails, bacon wrapped crab meat, frog legs, etc. Interesting, but probably won't go again. read more

I gotta say this is the worst buffet i've been too. Since they're not as common anymore, thought i'd give this one a chance. That was my mistake. i should have just walked out as soon as i saw the 5 dollar charge if you didn't finish your food. Maybe if the food was good, people would finish what's on their plate. Food was just very plain. no flavor. Drives me nuts that they bring the check to you so quickly. Never again. 0 Stars read more

I want to add a few other observations about this place, in addition to what other people here already wrote. This place charges people for wasting their leftovers. When I asked one of the workers for a small empty dipping cup for dipping my sushi in soy sauce, it seemed as if the worker I asked didn't know what I was talking about. The language barrier aside, it's common sense to have small dipping cups available for the sushi. Instead, I used an empty BOWL to fill 1/2 inch with soy sauce & wasabi. Never have I been to a restaurant that serves sushi, where the restaurant would lack small dipping cups for dipping sushi into soy sauce. read more

Here's the bit. I went here because my father-in-law wanted to have a vast quantity of food. He doesn't ask for much and doesn't hate me yet so if he says he wants buffet and wants to go here and he's picking up the tab no argument, I am happy to oblige. I went Sunday at lunch. It was crowded but we were seated quickly. The food is general Asian buffet quality. The dim sum was lacking flavor or taste. It was pasty at best. The other food stuff were of panda express quality. They have the required soft serve ice cream machine too that was a bit icy but not too bad. Again buffet quality, but not bad for the quality. They serve sushi too, but no one was grabbing it so I passed on the sushi. So if everything met my expectation for an average Chinese buffet why that low star review? The place is just plain filthy. I wish I saw this when I started but of course I only saw this on my way out and this really made me sick. What I saw was one of the kitchen staff refreshing food on the hot table. They spilled it on the counter and just used the spoons to flick it back into the new serving trays. Are you really that cheap? Isn't their some kind of health issues for doing that? Plus he was going back to the kitchen with a serving tray in hand. So I though it was isolated incident and I saw another kitchen staff do that again but while wiping the buffet line using the serving spoon on the counter to put it back. GROSS! I'm not sick yet, but I'm hoping my immune system can combat what I saw. Mentally, I don't think I can go back again. I hoping that my father in law wants something else in the future. read more

All the food is delicious!!!!!! One of my favorite places to go here in Santa Rosa! Great customer service and never dirty

This food is THE BOMB. Not too pricy, and a great selection of Chinese food favorites. The chicken on a skewer is fantastic, but brush off the MSG (it looks like salt) so you can appreciate it more. The potstickers will EXPLODE if you bite into them so be careful, they are still delicious though. Finally, if you want to try something different, I reconmend their pineapple cake (its where most of the dinner foods are) and is like a sweet egg souffl', they are yellowish brown and look like flowers. Drinks are cheap too, $1. But any foodie knows to stick with water or the free hot tea. read more

I cant believe im writing this review as im sittining in this dump. Lets get to the point. 1. Food was cold 2. Told the lady... who just walked away 3. They drop the check and I havnt even touched ny food 4. Have to explain it once again to an employee that i did not eat anything and i will not pay. The woman tell me to wait 15 minutes for hot food to come out. NO THANKS 5. Kids ate peaches and ice cream. BOTTOM LINE .... IT WAS AWFUL HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PLACE IS DIRTY. read more

If you want great Chinese food, you don't go to a buffet. When you want mass quantities of average tasting food, and who doesn't once in a while, that's when you hit a place like Fu Zhou. Positive: Fast, lots of choices, usually a few items above average. Negative: Limited parking, lousy sushi, too many crummy desserts and not enough real food. If you're downtown and feel like stuffing yourself it's worth a visit. read more

It had been a few years since I had gone to this kind of Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet. As I struggled to finish my first plate, I remembered why. When I was a younger man, I loved this kind of food - staggeringly sugary, salty, fatty, etc. - but these days, it's hard to bring myself to consume it. I was with a group of about eight guys and there was a quorum to come to Fu Zhou, which is how I ended up here. I almost finished a plate of various meets and veggies soaked, fried and/or coated in various syrups and radioactively colored sauces. In an effort to come close to getting my money's worth, I opted for a second round and, for plate #2, I went to the dessert section, where they had a decent selection of unblemished fruits - cantaloupe, grapes, melon. I also had some soft serve ice cream and hated myself for it. If you are feeling the need to consume several thousand calories of unhealthy food, this place is a pretty damn efficient option. read more

This isn't the best buffet but it isn't totally horrible either. It's a buffet...so yes, food will be a hit or miss. You should expect that from a buffet. I tend to always get the same dishes, but sometimes I try stuff I don't like. In fact, every time I go there, I leave at least 1.5 plates worth of food behind because I tried something new that I didn't like, there was some inconsistency in what I normally eat, or I overestimated how much I would eat. I've never been hit with a $5.00 per plate charge & I've never been charged for refills, though they are indeed horrible at giving you a refill. To my knowledge, refills are only offered on fountain drinks (soda + whatever lemonade or type of juice they have from the fountain). If you're not drinking fountain drinks, then yes, you should expect to be charged per refill like you would anywhere else. If you're being charged $5.00 for a full plate, my guess is that you're leaving a massive amount of food behind. (If you don't know if you like it, take a smaller amount!) As for asking to see ID to charge a credit card, you should be appreciative. It's to make sure someone hasn't stolen your card & is using it, & so many merchants won't check. If they checked more often, it'd be more difficult to use someone's card without their consent. Food-wise, I'd say they have the best egg rolls in town. I wish they served frog legs more often, though. Wonton soup & duck is yummy & so is the orange chicken. I don't recommend coconut shrimp, pizza, or hot & sour soup though--these are the hit-or-miss stuff I usually avoid. read more

I think it's the worst place I've ever been in The floors were sticky, and wet. Very few food items were labeled. I don't like fish so trying to find an item without fish without labels was a little annoying. I decided to give the food a try, even though I wanted to run out and never return. I was so disgusted with the food i chose. The food was horrible. The worst Chinese food i have ever tried. No one should ever go there. read more

Personally, I rather like this place. For me, it has a convenient location downtown and it's a great place to go to get lots of decent food in a range of types very quickly. Obviously, this is not high-quality Chinese food and most of the stuff I absolutely avoid. However, some things are very reliable and quite good. They are often quite busy and thus usually have a pretty high turnover of certain dishes, so that one can normally find a pretty fresh try of these. One must keep in mind that this is a Chinese buffet place and for that category, it is the best one I have ever visited in this whole area. read more

This is my theme song for SUPER BUFFET (aka Fu Zhou), meant to sync up with your comically swollen pot belly and waddling gait as you exit after unknowingly consuming 3000 calories in a sitting (also works for being rolled into the street by the staff and gently drifting down Mendocino): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ua18mSir9vw Anyway. Seriously. If you're on a diet and/or have bad portion control with food, DO NOT COME HERE. More than half the buffet is fried stuff, and that's before you even notice the dessert bar with huge hunks of birthday cake and like 4 different kinds of cheesecake slices. That said. It's a nice enough place to eat and surprisingly more spacious than the outside would indicate. I think it was $10.70 after tax for the lunch buffet and tea or a soda. There's some interesting stuff you don't usually see at Chinese take-out: little fried octopus tentacles, Frog Legs Fricasse, some kind of thing involving snails. Veggies and fish are kind of thrown in as an afterthought but there's enough that you can cobble together a filling plate that doesn't undo two weeks worth of exercise. It's a great place for celebrating on the cheap with a group, or just for an occasional pig-out treat. Judging by the patronage it's also a good place for feeding your ravenous hatchlings. read more

I didn't like this place at all! We found an ant in our food, and I regretted even coming there afterwards. The place was dirty and stuffy! The smell of food stayed on your clothes. Super Buffet - Chinese Near Me - Santa Rosa, California

In the genre of Chinese Buffets, and nearly vanished All You Can Eat Places, Fu Zhou II is as good as you are likely to find. Please see my Trip Adviser post for detailed review. Here you will find a huge selection of dishes, hot and fresh, all at least good quality, some excellent, and now and then a near gourmet item. Traditional foods seldom seen outside Chinatown like baos(spell/) are to be had, along with soups, a ton of desserts, fruits, even sushi (only fair but safe) and a giant roast beef. I've gone back regularly for 20 + years..it will take several visits to sample everything..and then they surprise you ! Dinner is more..check the time it starts. Real people eat here. I don't know why there are so many bad reviews of this place. If buffet gross you out, don't go to a buffet restaurant! Surely in Colma, Daly City or even Sacramento area you'd find much better choice, but we are talking about Santa Rosa! Cleanliness of this place needs improvement but it is not 'bad'. I would totally stay away from a few items on the steam table, but, for me at least, the rest of the food they serve are pretty good; for the price you are paying that is. For lunch buffet, they have crabs, shrimps, salmon and many other items that you'll never see in a buffet restaurant nestling in a small town like Santa Rosa. Remember, your visits to ALL buffet restaurants should be at regular lunch and dinner hours. Don't complaint if you don't see much food out there between 2:30pm to 5:00pm. read more
