I've been coming to this dim sum spot since I was young and it is a great go to! Their service is always very quick and the inside is very spacious and clean. I always get the fried rice, shu mai, har gow, pork buns, pea shoots (seasonal) and chow fun.

Had an amazing dim sum meal here today. I asked beforehand if the pea shoots were any good...and they said it was, so ordered it (recommend asking before ordering as this can be seasonal) with other tasty treats. The food came out quickly and delicious. The chive, shrimp dumplings were the star as they were packed with great flavors. The turnip cake, bean curd rolls, beef chow fun were yummy. The eggplant stuffed with shrimp was only so so. And we were too full to try the ha gow so ended up with a great other meal to take home.

This popular dim sum restaurant serves delicious food and provides great service. Their BBQ pork buns are exceptional, as well as their freshly made dim sum. They also have a great selection of traditional Chinese dishes so there's something for everyone.

To preface this, I took these pics after I started eating (lol) but I would say this place is pretty good. Over priced, absolutely because I suppose there isn't another dim sum place within 20 miles. Still we managed to escape with around 25$ per person and we were content with the amount of food. ( around 9$ per plate) We ordered the duck, Chinese donut in noodle roll (never seen before) shrimp noodle rolls, the dim sum chow fun and some shrimp chive pan fried balls. Expect to wait on weekends to be seated. Decent quality, but if you want cheap and good food just drive south into the city. this review is for their dim sum offerings only, if I went back I would try their lunch specials which seemed to be a good deal for a lot of takeout style food.

I stopped by to pick up food for dinner. The staff was helpful and made recommendations. Inside is clean and nice. The food was delicious and authentic and you get a great amount of food for the price. They also have dim sum which we will try next time.

Time for some dim sum! When we arrived on this Thursday afternoon, the restaurant was pretty full. There was a large group of 11 sitting in the middle and other diners throughout the dining room but everything was handled promptly and efficiently like usual. We ordered: Shu mai Pork ribs in black bean sauce Har gow (shrimp dumplings) Shrimp stuffed eggplant Pea shoots (off regular menu) Hong Kong style chow mein with chicken (thin crispy noodles) Egg custard buns Everything came out steaming hot and it was hard to say which dish was our favorite because everything tasted so good. We have leftovers for tomorrow too! The new item we tried was the egg custard buns. They were light and springy and had a very delicate filling. We enjoyed them and would order again. We have been coming here for several years and the hard-working staff has not changed. Parking can be tight at times but they do have their own parking lot.

We ordered take out on Saturday night from here, I was impressed by some of the food. The quality was good but still greasy. We enjoyed the 3 out of 6 dishes and everything was correct when we got home. Portion sizes were decent but would be bigger if we ate there. 3 dishes fell hard: The broccoli beef was way too soft & slimy they over cooked it. The crab puff rangoon was bad, not enough filling and the wrong shape, bland flavor with no taste of crab or cream cheese it was not seasoned. Walnut prawns were not fried and the sauce was just thick and not properly done, it tasted too much like mayo it was underwhelming for being the most expensive item. They are good but can improve, overall decent food. Cannot speak to service or ambiance. I would return to try other items.

The food is so yummy here, service is friendly, and very spacious inside. I get why families come to dine here too... it's affordable & big portions ! Left overs always.

I have driven by this restaurant for decades and finally stopped in for Lunar New Year. It was amazing. The decor is nice and service is great. We had har gow, siu mai, rice flour dumplings, and chive dumplings. So good! It's not super cheap - two of us ordered 4 plates and it was $34. We had hot tea. I'll keep coming back now.

Ask the Community - Hang Ah Dim Sum

Are there any vegan dim sum choices? My friends were planning a trip and I wanted to join them but was wondering what options there were for vegans off the dim sum menu.

Are they related to the restaurant in San Francisco of the same name?

    Do they have soup dumplings?

Are they doing inside service again?

Yes. Packed on a Sunday night! That's good for businesses!

Is the dim sum made daily using fresh ingredients?

yea - consistently fresh ingredients. Dim Sum and noodles would definitely have a different taste and consistency if not made fresh.

Is this restuarant connected to the Hang Ah Tea room in san francisco?

Yes!! I had friends confirm with the SF location.

When we walked in, there was only a table of five customers at the end of their meal because the wait staff just delivered them the bill. I asked for a high chair, and she looked at my daughter and said she's too big for that, but I immediately told her my daughter can still fit in (btw, my daughter is very skinny and young and she prefer high chair everywhere we go out to eat every week, and the last one being only 3 days ago). The waitress didn't even bother to go grab the high chair and just walked away to the counter that is located in the back toward the kitchen. With this attitude, I will give one (1) star especially when the restaurant was not even busy at the time. The high chair by the way was very sticky that leaves stickiness on your hand after touching it kind (i.e., not clean). Another observation was that the waitress was more focus on the other dine in customers who were at the end of their meal than coming to our table to start taking order or at the very lease, offer drinks - it was already passed 6:00 pm and the restaurant was still emptied, everyone was hungry so what's up with the nonchalant attitude? Our party consist of three adults and a toddler, so we decided to try out the family meal at $28 per person that comes in a fixed choice of 1 won-ton soup, broccoli beef, sweet and sour pork, and a chicken dish. We also added a side dish of veggie chow-fun (wide rice noodle), so the entire order without the drink, taxes, and tip was over $100. For the food items we ate, I can only give a 2 out of 5 star rating because they all had one thing in comment - neither taste good or bad but with expensive tags. I didn't get sick after dinner so 2 stars rating is all I can give. All I can say is the food is safe to eat but not great. Some of the positive reviews were about good customer service, but we didn't experience that last night. Some reviews indicated how delicious the food were, but I don't agree based on my dinning experience. Therefore, overall, I can't give this restaurant more than 2 stars. Side note: on the way home, I told my wife that Panda Express would have been a better choice if I knew our dinning experience outcome a head of time.

We've ordered a lot from here, and I can't think of anything we didn't like. If I had to pick a favorite, it's probably the hot and sour soup. It's a perfect combination of hot to sour ratio. I've had it in a lot of places, and they just get it right every time. The string bean chicken is also one of my favorites. It's very flavorful, and the green beans are very fresh and cooked perfectly. We also really like the asparagus chicken, Mongolian chicken, walnut prawns, moo shu chicken, and the potstickers. My wife loves the sweet and sour chicken, and my daughter is all about the wonton soup. What's funny is we've never actually sat down and eaten there. I always say we're going to, but usually when we're in the mood for Chinese food, we just want to take it home. Every time I go in though, the place looks really nice and has a great vibe. We've just gotten into the habit of doing pickup. At this point it's just kind of our default. When we're in the mood for Chinese food, this is where we end up.

Their chicken chow mien and chicken fried rice is to die for! They have a very large menu with a ton of different options, and seating options ranging from small tables, booths, large tables, and you can also sit at the bar. The hostesses at the front are always welcoming and polite, and the servers are knowledgeable and friendly. Honestly, I struggle not to eat here more than I should because the food is so delicious! I will mention, especially on holidays, they are absolutely swamped. They have a huge following from the locals who know how good the food is, and they're definitely a favorite for people to order out from on holidays. Sometimes they do have trouble keeping up with the sheer number of orders they seem to receive. All in all, if you're going in the evening, I highly recommend reservations, and if you're ordering online on a holiday, order early so you don't miss out or have to wait too long!

Yes the portions are very generously large. And, the taste is okay, but not exceptional as compared to an other highly rated restaurant I usually get food from. My biggest complaint is that the service staff is terrible. My recent purcghae was a take out order placed on the telephone. The gentleman who took my order could barely speak english and was very impatient, rushing to end the call. I order a pork mushu, eggplant with added shrimp and the house tofu. I requested that everything be mild as I have a family member that is on meds that do not allow him to eat spicy food. When I went to pick my order up the three containers were placed in a thin plastic bag. When I got home the eggplant /shrimp dish was spicy with three large hot chile peppers right on top of there food. The Mushu pork had no pancakes. When I called to tell them the same man answered the phone and his reply to me was "No Problem"! The older woman who i encountered there at the service counter does understand English but she is gruff and unfriendly. On this last occasion, Mother's Day, when I went to pick up my order there was younger woman who was very pleasant but when I ordered an extra continuer of riv=ce she just handed the hot container to me. Itvwould not fit into the bag with my original order. I asked for another neg. She then put everything into a larger bag (original bagged order as is nd separate rice and tied it). When I got home the containers leaked and it was a mess. When I arrived at the restaurant it was more than 75% empty of diners sitting at tables. No excuse for such sloppy service and attitude. Not going back there for sure.
