In the genre of Chinese Buffets, and nearly vanished All You Can Eat Places, Fu Zhou II is as good as you are likely to find. Please see my Trip Adviser post for detailed review. Here you will find a huge selection of dishes, hot and fresh, all at least good quality, some excellent, and now and then a near gourmet item. Traditional foods seldom seen outside Chinatown like baos(spell/) are to be had, along with soups, a ton of desserts, fruits, even sushi (only fair but safe) and a giant roast beef. I've gone back regularly for 20 + years..it will take several visits to sample everything..and then they surprise you ! Dinner is more..check the time it starts. Real people eat here. Not so much the toney range rover set, (don't tell them !) read more

This place is disgusting. Run by terrible humans unhygienic would be an understatement. where is the health department in this one? The crab legs are mush and cold. After leaving half a plate of cat food I was told I'd have to pay an extra 5 dollars on the already 38 dollar for 2 bill. When something tastes like trash I don't finish it ever. After the extortion attempt they tried to make nice by touching my shoulder ...because that makes sense. . . Avoid this place at Allllllllllll costs this is a BAD BAD CHOICE there's far too many GOOD places to eat in the square. With no extortion attempt involved HEALTH DEPARTMENT DO YOUR JOB !! read more

It's a buffet so you can't expect the greatest food quality ever, but for what it is it's pretty good and lots of options. I know exactly where everything is and what to expect. Though do wish some dishes were better marked. I maybe missing on something good but hard to know. Still good food for all you can eat. read more

Average buffet. We eat in a lot of Chinese buffets and this one is average. To be honest we got there about a half hour before they close to change over to dinner so the selections were minimal and on the cold side. We knew better to not go that late but we were hungry and didn't get a good selection. Word to the wise about Chinese buffets. Don't go when they open or close to closing. Would probably not go back. read more

NOT a replacement for the one in NOVATO *WARNING: felt sick after one plate.* _________________________________________________ I thought maybe this might be similar to the one in Novato, the chicken was grimy slimy and made me wonder if it was actually chicken. It seemed like a majestic place, and the price ($17) almost seemed like I was in for a good dinner, I however couldn't even finish my dinner there and had to find dinner elsewhere after tasting the horrid restaurant's so called "food". Apparently a yelp review person noticed a cockroach shimmering across their table 8 months ago, I wonder if they sorted out this problem, due to the facts that they haven't sorted out a decent cook or probably don't even have taste buds I think not. Likewise I think that this place is over charging for their food because they must know they're going to go out of business soon. This is obvious with the quality that is overlooked for the patrons of this restaurant. What makes me so happy though, is that I will never have to go back- again. Thank you God, for freewill on this planet. read more

I have to say this isn't the best buffet I've had, however it's pretty much the only one we have in the area now. But the prices are pretty good and they have lots to choose from. About 90% is Chinese food and they have a small section of American food. They are pretty nice though and we've been back quite a few times. read more

#1 Not worth the $$$ - The Buffet is ALWAYS the same stuff, {I know where each item is & whats gonna be in the steam tables before i go in} so why did the price go up ? The employees are not the most pleasant people "Never Smile". They ask what you want to drink and you hardly see them again, i had to get up to find a waiter/waitress for a refill ? And if it's a Buffet WHY DO WE PAY FOR EACH DRINK ? I can see maybe pay for the 1st one but the refills too, ive never heard of that ? Change the menu occassionally would be nice, i've noticed the crowds are getting smaller each time i go in. 1/2 the stuff looks uneatable - Bland, looks like it just got thawed out. From the top of my head as i sit at home - 1st row when you go in on your right : House Rice, Chow mein, boiled mushrooms, spicy shrimp dish, stuffed mushrooms, Bok Choi, calamari dish, spicy crawfish, Crab legs. That's sad that i'm pretty sure i'm 90% on point with the display. IF i'm way off i'd be shocked !!! This is what you get EVERYTIME YOU GO - I can probably tell you each section, if i had the time to think about it. Because Why - It NEVER CHANGES .... We are doing them a favor by going here What if we stop or another Buffet opens elsewhere ? I started experimenting with the Casino Buffets [River Rock was Barely Average @ $21 and not as many items but food was Fresh} read more

I Love the food here! why 3 stars? because they leave a lot to be desired from a place that charges 15.00+ for a meal ( I don't care if it's a buffet) everything from the moment you walk in, the owner (behind the register) looked at my son and I, like we were aliens, so that was rude. the wait staff didn't fare much better in the customer service department, NONE of them speak English--which doesn't bother me one-bit,,but it felt like they got mad at Me because I didn't speak cantonese lol.. Anyway, i recomment this place to anyone who just wants to sit down and EAT like there is no Tomorrow, and does not care about good customer service--am I going back?? well...YES,, It is the perfect place to just Pig-Out. SO, this is really a 2.5 Star place. read more

Never try the oysters. Filled with grime. Only thing decent is the chow mein and ice cream. Crab is ok, but never go for the sushi, even Safeway sushi is better. I have to admit that it is a decent place to get some lunch, but if you're looking for some nice dinner, I do not recommend it read more

I've been coming here for many years. I first discovered their Novato location (now closed) when I was a kid. I've never had an issue with the service or the food. I can honestly say I do not believe all these food poisoning stories! There are many dishes to choose from, several seafood options, and things for kids or picky eaters like pizza slices and French fries. My faves are the honey shrimp, spicy string beans, pepper chicken, and fried rice. I have noticed the price has gone up a dollar or 2 in the last few years. It's now $15 a person which is little too much, unless you really plan on eating a ton which would be easy to do. They also got rid of the booths and have only tables now. You would think with the price raise they'd all be booths! I also noticed that the pot stickers are lacking in filling recently; they were practically flat, folded pieces of dough. The cream cheese crab puffs are also just puffs - no cream cheese or crab. Not sure what's going on with that. read more

Super Buffet - Empty crab/cream cheese puff - Chinese Near Me - Santa Rosa, California

This place is nice for a quick fix. All in one. Sushi Lovers don't even bother. The Nigiri wasn't bad, the rolls so so but yep ice cold. Meh I could definitely tell they're not trying to impress anyone. From the avocado nigiri, individually wrapped rice crackers to the "Wonton WRAPPER" soup. Which is the same as Wonton soup minus 80 of the filling usually accompanying the wonton. Don't forget about the stuffed pilsbury biscuits, usually it's stuffed mushrooms but hey I'm really not complaining. All of it was tasty even the honeydew was actually sweet. Believe it or not sweet honeydew is a rare find. Yep but as other people mentioned don't expect gourmet or any flair at all. This place is pretty straightforward. Empty tummy? Fill it. No fuss. Nice to have that cheap go to place. read more

I tried for this restaurant just for more chose foods but I didn't see crab legs and shrimps are so small. And the waitress watched at you when you were eating. Sounds they peep at you and don't want you get more seafood. So that they can made more money. That's rude made you uncomfortable. So I didn't want come again. read more

I never write a review before but i have to. Customers service is worst, they throw the check on our table while we were eating. If they do that, Is a sign that they wanted you to leave. So rude, we pay to eat not asking to eat for free. I went to alot of buffet before but only this one do that. They only have 1 buffet around here, so that why they wont care. But there is a new Korean bbq opening soon, i cant wait. read more

This is a bad buffet. The sushi appeared dry and old. Most cooked items were too oily, salty and too much cornstarch. The cooked seafood does not taste fresh. Will not return. read more

The food is terrible. Very limited choices and full of salt. I will not come back. I was going to try Sushi but kids want to have fried rice so I tried Fu Zhou. read more

Super Buffet - Chinese Near Me - Santa Rosa, California

Food is ok..... mainly would go there because of the crab (yet sometimes crab can look kind of ugly) . I won't be returning after all their rules they have. BEWARE: Make sure you read all of their signs of RULES that is located behind the cashier and as well around the restaurant. CANNOT stay more than 2 hours, otherwise they charge extra. You Have to ask for a straw. If you still have left over food on your plate ( even if its a little) they will charge you $5 extra, If you want a kids cup, they charge extra. Oh and avoid going to the bathrooms if possible, they are dirty. This place use to be good, but their customer service and greediness has gone down hill. read more

This Buffet was nothing to rave about. Most of the items weren't labeled. If you enjoy being stared at by the staff then go here. Way over priced. An if you don't finish your food they charge you $5 per plate. My Family isn't going back there again. read more

This food gave me explosive diarrhea, and the workers are such dildos they spit in my food. ALSOOOO they smelt like ass. Definitely do not recommend to anyone with sensitive stomachs. It gave me fire hole for weeks! :/ read more

If you want to have a stomach ache eat here. Rarely do I eat at a buffet. Met with my co-workers who work for the schools. End of the year celebration and I still hurt from the food there. Maybe it's just me. Service was great but the food...ugh! Sorry Fu Zhou Buffet. read more

Please don't eat here, even the pizza was under cooked and terrible. Everything was sweet and all of the people I went with including myself felt sick afterwards read more

The worst Chinese food I know of in Santa Rosa! Fu Zhou has the widest selection of disgusting, barely-edible food that I have ever seen. The place is huge and their buffet offers everything from soggy pepperoni pizza to questionably safe sushi. I didn't see the MSG in shakers that the previous review describes, but I am not surprised they offer this absurdity. Go anywhere else but Fu Zhou, really anywhere. I mean it. I would have given the place less than a star if it were possible! read more

I go in mostly for lunch to last for an all day fill up on budget. Dinner too. Just once a month for me to celebrate something. The lunch menu I found has less seafood, but the shrimp missing still has the legs, shells, and the heads. Good I'm not there at dinner hour!! This place is where I tried frog legs one time, and it tastes like...well, what they say about a lot of things that fly. I love I can eat a large portion of many proteins, and eat a second full plate of a variety of specialty carbs. I recommend Fu Zhou Super Buffet for unusual food to try, with enough good food for anyone to fill up on as precaution. read more

Lots of food but too many rules, if you leave any food on your plate uneaten it's an extra $5 charge per plate with food left (what if you don't like something?) Parties over 6 are automatically charged 15% tip, 2 of the 6 people in my party were under 2 years old & didn't hardly eat anything despite having to pay $7.50 for 2 to 7 years olds.. Also impossible to get refills on soda or water!!! read more

What the???? I suppose this is a good place to take your teen-age sons after some serious exercise, as the sheer quantity of food in this establishment is one of the causes of the starvation in the third world. However, while they excel at quantity, there is absolutely nothing to speak of in terms of quality. Not that I believe MSG is toxic, but the sheer amount of it on every single dish is staggering. If that wasn't enough, you can sprinkle more MSG from MSG shakers that they provide. Certainly, there are at times when quantity matters, but the sheer amount of gratuitous, barely edible, deep-fried MSG is something special for which I rarely have cravings. read more

Alright. Listen up. If you want diseases and food poisoning. This is the spot. They don't clean, flies everywhere, and to top it off their food tastes like they cooked it on a playdoh oven. So by all means. If you like to gamble with your life, come on down. Please do me a favor and don't come to this garbage. read more

I wish I could give no stars. I was trying to eat my over cooked noodles when a cockroach crawled across my table... I got up and left after that I told the man up front what had happened and said I did not want to pay. He insisted I pay, and gave no apology... Also he didn't seem surprised, as if he gets this complaint often. This place is dirty, the food is either under or over cooked and always cold. Never eat here. This is my first review, I got a yelp account just to warn the public about this disgusting place read more

My family and I have eaten there for years; however, we went last night and my fiancé and I felt sick almost immediately after eating their food. In fact, it was so bad that my fiancé had to use their bathroom before we got home, I believe he may have food poisoning and I too, am having stomach pains. Also, I tried both the salmon and the steamed fish and they were the worst peices of fish I've ever eaten. We were incredibly disappointed and therefore; sadly will not be recommending or returning to this restaurant again. read more

This place is delicious. My girlfriend's dad has his 60th birthday here. There is no where else in the North Bay you can get great Asian food that this price. We will definitely be back in the future. read more

My kids love this place but Im not a big fan. Don't get me wrong the food not bad nor the service. This place have the basic Chinese buffet dishes. I just feel like every thing is a tad bit sweet or a tad bit salty or plain. There is no in between. I guess you get what you pay for. Adults are 16.99$ Children 7-10 yrs old are 9.99$. The main reason why I gave this place a 3 star was because the food was basic and the bathroom was super gross and the whole place needs an upgrade. read more

THey had a good selection of food (mainly Chinese) from Mongolian beef, to fried crabs, and boiled crabs. They also had prime rib (you had to cut it yourself), pizza, and other stuff. For desert, they had and icecream machine, grapes, watermelon, oranges, some cakes, and sweet waffer crackers. When I came here, there were lots of kid and families. My mom told me there was this kid who kept poking his finger in the salad dressing to taste it, and when she gave him a bowl, he ran away. Kind of disguisting, but I guess that's wat you get when you eat at a buffet. The first bite, some of the stuff taste pretty good. The fried crab was pretty good, the boiled crab was too salty after a while. The chow mein was okay, but the other tiny noodles were dry and had no taste. The pork spare ribs tasted sweet and good, the desert wasn't bad, except the cheese cake wasn't as good. Food taste wise- it's a 3/5 Service wasn't that bad, we were asked what kind of drink we would like when we first came in, but after that the waiter did an okay job getting the full plates off our table. When we asked them for an extra tea cup, they never gave it to us, so we had to take one off another table. Service 3/5 I think the one deal breaker for me was getting food poisioned. I think it was from the oysters- but just getting food poisioned from this place makes me never want to come here again. Also having all those kids running around with the parents doing a horrible job looking after them made my visit horrible. so overall 1/5 stars read more

There is a large selection of disgusting, unappealing and questionable food here. One of the most awful places I have been to. On the plus side, the service was friendly. read more

Absolutly the best buffet I've ever ate at. Many choices and they all are delicious.

I am sitting here, at the restaurant, writing this review. I thought this was 3.5 stars. My wife's relative suggested this restaurant, I thought it was a good idea, as we have kids in the group and diverse tastes. I yelped it on the way and was expecting the worst, based on some of the reviews. When we got here, I remember coming here years ago. I think it was smaller then. I don't go to a Asian buffet expecting great service or food. Must people don't tip at a buffet, so the servers don't go out of their way. It is hard to keep the food fresh at a buffet, without throwing away stale food, as they do at expensive buffets. I like a table best the food, so I can watch when the food I like comes out. We got a Hispanic waitress. Unlike the Asian waiters, she was always in motion, looking at her tables. Our used plates were typically cleared by time I got back with more food and our water cups were never empty. The Asian waiters were standing around talking to themselves much more. The food was decent. We were on the way back from a $45 winery food pairing "flight". We weren't expecting that. The cooks were out frequently adding fresh food and looking over what needed to be refreshed. None of the food looked gross, as others mentioned, but we are here at the beginning of dinner service. What looked gross was the plates stacked high with food by some of the patrons. Some things don't look good mixed together. I write this as I notice that I just put frozen yogurt over my cheesecake. This was not the best buffet, I have been to, but pretty decent. $13.99 for adults, $8.99 for big kids and$4.99 for small kids, a very good value. I will come again. read more

So, my husband and I were enjoying our meal. The seafood is nice, we did go on a busy Sunday so there was lots of turn over. But, the one star was for the way they handled the nasty hair in my husbands chow main. They made no big deal about it. never apologized, a waiter just came over and silently took $3 off our $37 bill. We went to pay, and mentioned it to the manager thinking maybe he would apologize. And asked if that was standard for finding a hair in your food, he said yes. We left sad, because we really enjoyed our meal, but the staff and their unprofessional service was disgusting. I am a food server in San Francisco for the last 23 years and I never seen, experienced or heard of anything like this. I really like to Yelp when I have something nice to say about a business, but I could NOT let this one slip away. read more

Terrible service and they charged us for a big group gratuity when we were in a group of four. When asked why we were charged for that gratuity they couldn't make out a good reason for why. All the man kept doing was pointing at the price board saying, "oh you know.." No I don't know sir.. Please clarify.. And they couldn't.. For a group of 4 people and 3 drinks we were charged $75.55 are you flippin kidding me?! We could've ate at a steakhouse for that amount. Food was subpar and not worth the amount we paid. Sorry bout it but never coming back here again. read more

when it comes to buffets, i dont expect fine dining. you basically know what youre walking into, sometimes some platters of food might have sat out a little long, something that is supposed to be crispy is soggy, someone might have used a spoon from one dish and put it in another and thats all fine with me, nothing to cry over, just pass on that dish and get something else lol. Fu Zhou is pretty good in my opinion as far as buffets go. Lots of options (some of which i personally wouldnt eat since ive had my fair share of buffet stories lol) but the items i do get are usually pretty good. and thats the beauty of buffets, 1st plate is always a sample plate, load it with 1 or two bites of a bunch of stuff, 2nd playe you go back and load up with stuff you liked and if u dont like something then u dont get that again. kind of made it a go to spot for me and my buddy when he visits back home from Texas read more

DO NOT EAT HERE!! Food is disgusting, I wouldn't even feed it to my dogs. My gf and I went in planning on getting take out so that we could eat at a park with our dogs. After we got very small (enough for maybe 4 items) take out box we went over to the food station. The floors were gross, wet and very slippery. I had to use the bathroom but before I got two feet in I turned and walked out because of how disgusting it was and smelled so at this I knew the food would be bad. As I was looking for items to try very few items were actually labeled( 5 out of maybe 20). I like to know what I'm getting so I was completely turned off and decided not to get anything there. My gf is braver than me and got food, if it can even ben categorized as food, everything she had was awful. After looking at reviews we found out many people got food poisoning from their garbage and that they had many health code violations. They should be shut down. read more
