Seniors Beware Company - 2 Plumbs Up (Plumbing -…read moreHVAC - Remodeling) I hired this company to turn my garage back into a bedroom with a full bath and closet. Keep in mind I thought the contractor pulled a permit for a Garage Remodel, bedroom, full bath and closet, but the contractor decided to pull a permit for a storage room leaving out the walls for the closet and bathroom as stated in my contract. I was informed that they did not want to mess with the permit to include the bathroom work and closet, that this work would be apart, of phase 2. From the time we had this conversation it was a month before the permit was complete. I do not recommend this company, but if you use them: Make sure your contract is clear as to what you are contracting them to do. Put a name for your project. Make sure that you look over the contract for every detail of work you are contracting for. If it's not listed ask them to list it. This company informed me that they do not normally talk with the customers about the permit. This company also likes to do a lot of gas lighting, RE: "I have experienced you saying, "no one told you "Or "no one explained it to you ", with certain things that I know I have personally spoke to you about and explained, which has left me baffled". "We did this to make you happy it's not on the contract". "We have done everything we could to accommodate you...". When in fact they have caused financial hardships etc. by failing to provide the agreed-upon work, breaching our contract and causing significant violations of the contractor laws. If you have a good contractor there will be no need for excessive accommodation or miscommunication on expectations. My project status is incomplete. The city came out to inspect the foundation and found that the contractor continued to work without calling for proper city inspections. All the work that was performed by this contractor must be Inspected or removed and replaced due to poor workmanship FYI: they installed the floor header on top of the sheetrock... See picture Be careful if they introduce Mount financing. I used it and it is structured financing based on the work that is being done within the time frame allotted for payment distribution. I was trusting and signed off on 3 weeks of unfinished/poor workmanship work of 3 payments totaling $23,000.00. I have paid for work that is incomplete and, in some cases, work that must be removed, according to the City Code Inspector. After 2 Plumbs Up received a copy of the City Violation Report, it would have been accommodating if they had offered to come out and weather protect the garage door area and the garage entry door, but I had to do it myself. see pictures attached. 2 Plumbs Up, company will respond to this review stating that they did everything in their power to accommodate me and that they informed me of the permit and that they were getting the permit for only the work that they were contracted for. That we were doing the work in phases. That they were informative throughout the time they were on the project. Their work speaks for itself 2 Plumbs UP and 5 STARS DOWN

I appreciated how friendly they were and they provided information on the system. During set-up they notified their might be a power issue related to the system but after discussion with the owner, they determined that the system would be adequately powered. Overall it was a great experience and I believe the system the set-up was a great value. Looking to get lower bills in the summer when the heat cranks up! Only issue that I did not notice till later is that they actually had changed out to from a stealth to a trident but they had upped the version. Initially I was surprised by this but since it was a larger system and it was still able to be powered I did not have any issues.

Long story short: Isais is friendly, professional, organized, responsive, and, most importantly,…read morehonest and trustworthy. I can't recommend Ivy highly enough. Short story long: we used a local small HVAC business for all of our HVAC needs for years. That company was purchased by a larger HVAC company. We started using that larger company, but after a couple of services, I noticed that every time they came out, they pushed expensive alterations to our system. Then I started noticing that the system wasn't running as well as it used to. I looked up local small HVAC companies and found Ivy. I called, was immediately able to speak with Isais, explained my concerns, and scheduled him to come take a look the next week. He was on time and very friendly, and immediately started taking a look at the system. He took photos showing that the prior company didn't bother to install the filter correctly, didn't rinse the coils, didn't clean out the unit, etc. He took care of all of that and said that the latest expensive recommendation from the other company was not necessary. He also made it easy to schedule recurring twice-a-year services. It's hard to find professionals to trust, especially in the HVAC world, but I completely trust Isais and I'm so happy I found him. Again, can't recommend him or his company strongly enough.

Matt came to our home today to service our AC and was, as always, professional, courteous, and thorough. He carefully diagnosed the issue, identified that the capacitor was testing below specifications, replaced it, and made sure the system was operating properly. Matt has been to our home several times over the years, and he has always provided excellent service. He's knowledgeable, straightforward, and takes the time to explain what he finds without making us feel pressured. Matt is fantastic to work with and truly an asset to Huft. Trust is very important to us when choosing a company to work on our home, and Huft has earned that trust. Matt is a big reason why. We highly recommend Huft Heating & Air, and we specifically recommend asking for Matt Bridges. He's our go-to technician.

My previous review was for comfort master, not Huft. In…read more2019 we had 2 old AC units replaced with one unit that required redoing the ductwork. We let the employee know that we keep our home cold, 68 degrees. We were assured the unit could meet this. My mom used Huft with good results and she had a unit that had to no problem keeping her house cold. During install there were delays and we were without AC in July. At the end of one day they told us they may not be able to return the following day due to prior commitments. I let them know I found this unacceptable and they returned. During the project, one of the technicians hit our brand new car while it was parked across the street. We witnessed the accident. Huft paid for the repair but it was highly inconvenient and frustrating, our car didn't even have plates yet. After the project was complete, our home would not cool below 75 degrees. I kept letting them know I felt the unit was too small for our home and this wasn't what we agreed to. We were told using calculations the unit was the correct size and cooling to 75 was appropriate. I mentioned my mom has a bigger unit and a smaller home. This was the reply I received from the manager, Chris: "If I feel the system is too small for the home I will have a larger one installed, I told you we stand behind our work 100%, but I am not going to just arbitrarily replace it with a larger one just because you "think" it is too small because your mom has a larger one." He was rude, arrogant and unhelpful. Ultimately they replaced it with a larger unit and shocker, it cools to 68 degrees as promised but it was months of back and forth to get to that point. We are having insulation replaced this week and we found out Huft left all the old duct work in our attic. Disappointing. We do use their maintenance plan and have always liked the technicians but given the choice over again we would choose someone else for install given the rude behavior from management and our install experience.

On 10/13, I spoke with Christina to schedule a fireplace cleaning appointment for a date shortly after our call, with an arrival window of 8:00-11:00 AM. During that same call, I requested that a supervisor contact me regarding additional questions. No one from management ever returned that call. On the day of the appointment, the technician never arrived. At 10:00 AM, I contacted Jeffrey, who informed me the technician was running late and would arrive in the afternoon. No one showed up that afternoon either. When I spoke with Jeffrey again, I provided my address a second time. He then sent a confirmation notification containing the wrong address and even the wrong city. I called back once more to correct the information so the technician could locate my home. Despite all of this, no technician arrived at any point that day. At 4:00 PM, a customer service representative called to inform me that the technician "had something to do with his wife." This explanation was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I demanded an immediate call from a manager. No one contacted me. To this day, I have still not received a single follow‑up call from any member of management. Adding insult to injury, I began receiving text messages a few days later offering to reschedule the fireplace cleaning. I made it clear that, given the severe inconvenience and complete lack of service, the cleaning should be provided at no charge. I received no response. This entire experience is a clear example of extremely poor customer service, a lack of basic professionalism, and an absence of any meaningful management oversight. Despite multiple requests, not one manager has contacted me. Based on the conduct I have witnessed, I cannot recommend this company to anyone. If these practices continue, it is difficult to see how this organization will remain in business.

Alex went up to the roof but did not clean away the debris up against the chimney, he took pictures but did not clean up the debris. I paid $100 for sealing the cracks in the chimney box and he did a good job with that. The inspection on the outside is where things get quite questionable, Alex advised they would fax me back and estimate of any additonal work. The estimate is for $1007. The report lists the condition of my Chimney report as "unsatisfactory" It also says the note is d/t the exit set up of the chimney, but that is not explained. further down in the estimate. Then below are 3 items for remediation. Repair to cap arrestor is noted as "rusted" needs prime and paint, then next box says " preventative" and " fire hazard", $259., the next is Chase cover " rusted or discolored, needs prime/paint, says "preventative" $399., for the base of chimney says " flashing - water issues - install diverter next box says preventative - gives the code that lists water diverter or cricket. The pictures do not show any rust on the cap arrestor nor the chase cover only soot, and the discoloration is dirty water on top d/t it had just rained. The base of the chimney picture is covered with debris that alex did not remove before he took the picture which means he did not actually look to see if flashing was below the tile, nor did he see that there was flashing there w/ a water diverter that had been installed by my roofer in July last year. It can be seen in the picture zooming to the R. The quote says w/ the code either water diverter OR cricket, but when you talk to them they say well its better with both. When asked about the estimate they sell you that its all legitimate work but then say, estimate does say preventative however, estimate also says condition of chimney is "unsatisfactory". If this is work that is not necessary at this time estimate should say currently satisfactory, just because it could be better does not mean its necessary. I would even beg to differ that since they did not remove the debris at the base of the chimney, not only is the inspection of that area invalid, it is also incomplete work because he failed to " clean the chimney area". I have talked to them at length about the report and they justify the "type of work is code work" but not really necessary to my house today. They dont come right out and say, this all might be things you should do in the near future to be proactive. The cost of just priming and painting, per my brother in law who is a contracter said thats an hour job and they want to charge you $700 then wondered why for the cost they would not just replace the cap arrestor for that price? Since I did have roof work done by a licensed contractor in July I will be reaching out to him for his comments and follow them up here. Still 1 star not happy with overall feeling misled and work on roof w/ debris left incomplete work.

Unfortunately, I had a previous vendor simply top off the condenser and had the gall to tell me that it would last a few days till he got the part to stop the leak. I paid hundreds of dollars to get the refrigerant filled, only to wait for the part then refill it again and pay hundreds of dollars more! So, I went on a search for a new HVAC vendor and I solicited 12 vendors on Yelp as I had good prospects in the past using their platform. About half said they were unable to service, and the rest required a diagnostic fee the highest of which was quoted at $600 that amounted to filling the condenser with die, waiting a few weeks, then coming back to verify the leaks! A nitrogen test would tell you on the spot if you had leaks. Fortunately, I found Air Plus and conversed with Mel, the owner, and he was very responsive, asked the right questions and would do a site visit without a fee. He came the next day and evaluated the condenser, and I pointed out where the last vendor failed. He was able to provide a solution which I agreed with and got to work with his great crew and was able to fix the problem in just over an hour!
