Very nice. We stayed twice, coming and going from southern Texas. Comfortable beds, decent shower, plenty of room. It's a motel, so you pull up to the door. A bit noisy, but earplugs helped that. The breakfast is adequate--just the coffee was awful, and cold. Bakery next door fixed that. They've got breakfast items too. Several nice restaurants in town . I also had a problem with an online reservation and a quick call took care of that. Nice people running it. read more

Great little hotel. Clean rooms with a nice decor. Building is a little older, but the rooms themselves were recently renovated. Walls between rooms are pretty thin, so FYI. The price is good at $86 for 2 king beds. $20 dollar fee for 2 dogs under 50lbs. They don't really seem to check on the dog size though. Friendly staff. Our online booking selected the wrong date for our stay, but a quick phone call sorted that out. Not a bad little spot to rest if you need a hotel. read more

I made my reservation on Expedia based on comparing reviews and prices of area hotels. I just needed a safe, clean, and quiet place to sleep. This place won, and I was pleased with my stay. This Super 8 hotel is a recently refurbished and renewed older establishment that brought back memories of road trips with my family in the 60s and 70s, yet very hip and modern with a unique West Texas flair. The lady who checked me in was friendly and helpful. Rooms face the parking lot and open to the outside. Park in front of your room. All are single story, but because they are built on a hillside, some require going up a couple of stair-steps. My room looked very clean and neat. It had a mini fridge, microwave, iron, ironing board, a large flat-screed TV with a myriad of cable channels, plenty of plug-ins for devices that need charging, one big window with blackout curtains. There were a couple of drawers and a place for hang-ups. There is both overhead and lamp lighting. There is a window unit style AC/Heater built into the back wall. The sink was well lit and furnished with towels, wash cloths, a small bar of soap, and some hand lotion. Water had good pressure and temperatures. I did not see shampoo or conditioner but had my own. The king-sized bed looked nice and was comfortable. The four pillows were fresh and plump. I did not get up and out in time for breakfast. When I checked out, coffee was still available. I wound up having breakfast (an excellent egg, sausage, and cheese croissant) at the donut / kolache shop next door. Room for improvement: I could hear street traffic too well in the room. That could have kept me up. The good news is that the exhaust fan in the bathroom was louder, so I turned on the bathroom exhaust fan, which provided "white noise" to drown out the outside noises. The floor looked clean, but after walking around the room barefoot, I noticed when I stepped into the shower that mud formed where I stepped. So obviously, the floors could have been cleaner. Summary: Overall, I enjoyed my stay and will stay there again if ever traveling through Sonora again. You can't beat the price for a nice renewed vintage motor lodge style hotel. read more

Older motel BUT what a gem! Room is spotless as is the bathroom. Air conditioning is working great. Temperature outside is 106 but the brick structure provides the extra insulation. Check in was pleasant and welcoming. Pet friendly with a small deposit. Minimal area for walking the dog but the rodeo grounds are right across the street. This review is for a one night stay 4/18/21. Like another reviewer mentioned, it can be hard to find a place to stay because the towns are few and long distances between them. We were going to stay in Ozona but decided to add a few more miles on before stopping. Scrambling for a hotel in Sonora, Texas because some are closed. We called the Super 8 and they had rooms with a king bed, all the amenities (except a coffee pot because of covid) and trailer parking. Nikki helped us on the phone and checked us in. She was extremely hospitable and answered our many questions with a smile. Destiny V. cleaned our room and did a wonderful job!! It was clean enough even for a crazy like me who checks the bed for bugs and behind the toilet. She deserves the $25, even though, I couldn't give the requested 5 stars. Shame on them for requiring that. I don't think I've ever stayed in a Super 8 and may have had a less than great picture of it but this Super 8 had been recently renovated, all single floor rooms and nice inside. The room is good size and the bathroom is on the small size-but so is the cost for the room. The bathroom is big enough to utilize the facilities and shower. Not sure what else ya want in there. The sink is outside in the room. The shower has a large shower head with nice flow. I would definitely stay at a Super 8 again if all were like this one. We aren't buying the room. We want coffee in the morning, a very clean room, fridge and microwave are great and a good bed. This hotel checked most the boxes for me. One issue was really a positive- the light outside was bright but since it made the parking lot safer (especially appreciated since we had a trailer there), it's a small thing. The bed was hard-ok- but so were the pillows. It was a rough night. Then, in the morning there was no coffee. I went in the night before and they couldn't get the top off the box for the coffee machine. Night shift had all night but they didn't get it done. Stopped in here for one night while on our way to FL. Pleasantly surprised about condition of this motel in a small town. Better price than a bigger town too. Very clean and modern looking. Liked the no carpet floors, the headboard incorporated with wall art is nicely inventive and modern usb plug in ports in multiple locations made charging our devices very convenient. Only one thing I didn't care for was the bathroom fan being tied in with the light. Too noisy if you have to get up in the middle of the night. Thought the furniture design of having shelves instead of drawers was great. Less likely to forget stuff. Hanging multiple clothes items might be challenging, but this seems like a transitory hotel so it's a non-issue for the most part. Would definitely stay here again. To begin my rating is focused more on the hype and price the place puts out versus the reality of the place. See pictures. First off, the place is over priced, and does not provide a hot breakfast even though it promotes a dining area and "breakfast". The roomy breakfast area is actually the hotel Lobby and there is actually not sitting breakfast area. Breakfast is a cheap continental breakfast, so don't expect much for your money, if anything at all. I find best just lower your expectations and you wont be disappointed. The place use to offer hot breakfast but is too cheap to bring it back, even though they charge you in pricing what they always have. They use excuse of Covid, when rest of major hotels have brought hot breakfast back. The rooms are,....fit enough to sleep I guess. But i wont stay here again but at place across hwy. The place is so cheap there are not actual complete beds but mattresses on a board. See pics. Place resembles more of a remodeled "motel" than hotel. Pics speak for themselves. Also, the place is so cheap on value the AC units do not get below 75 degrees in room. AC units cut off at 75 degrees and WILL NOT cool beyond that. I think they set the thermostat somehow you cant actually control temp lower than that. I think its so they manage power cost. And this is horrible if you need "cold" to sleep. I was miserable in luke warm environment and did not sleep well at all. For any conveniences I would recommend place across the highway as at least they sell things (toiletries, microwavable foods) that would make your stay more enjoyable. This is probably one of the better motels to stay in if you want something in between decent pricing for each week and cleanliness without going to the extreme in one end to the other. The other motels want about 500 a week and here you can be had at about four hundred and some change a week and comes with a small hot breakfast. The rooms are pretty nice compared to what we've been staying in lightly like that one down the road that is very spooky. The wooden floors had a nice touch. Only negative I could say about here is the parking is tight and there is a cricket infestation here when it is warm. A hack that I told my co-workers was to go to the local General Dollar store or whatever and get you a can of all around bug spray and sprayed around your door and you should not have this problem of biblical proportions of the chirpys. read more

On our way home from Texas this place was great. It's not fancy. They power was good the water clean the dump sights at each pad and the pads are new and a little tight but we fit our 45 foot toy hauler in okay. Great hotel. Basic amenities. Very very clean. They had a good selection for breakfast pastries and good coffee. Very friendly staff. It was a little noisy at night until around 1am. I'm not one to write reviews however I was extremely disappointed and upset that this hotel and its Manager, Juanita Gomez refused to approve a refund after trying to cancel a reservation seconds after booking it on Priceline. Supposedly they have a policy that they can't do refunds unless it's within 24 hours of the reservation which I did try to do but since it was a same day booking it doesn't qualify. No empathy, no willingness to try to speak with their corporate office to work on the issue, and ZERO customer service skills were shown here by the manager and it's staff. Manager Juanita Gomez had the opportunity to come up with a solution or alternative compensation instead of being able to refund the reservation. Instead, she chose that little piece of revenue rather than create a long term customer with their hotel and those ran by Wyndham. read more

Clean, everything worked, didn't smell bad (like mildew or fungus). I know that sounds basic, but you wouldn't believe how many small town hotels are not kept up with even the basic items. Got in late (5am) and asked for a later check out than 11am. Got an extra hour (Noon) -- I miss the Marriott where I get a 4pm checkout due to my status -- the kicker was the night clerk didn't tell the day clerk so got a call at 11am reminding me that it's checkout time. They still have breakfast but you,take it back to your room. I haven't stayed at a Super 8 in years but finding a decent place to sleep when driving across West Texas is a challenge and this place had good reviews even if none were recent. It's obviously an old motel but I liked that because I didn't want to unload the car and parking right at my door feels safer these days than the perilous prospect of getting on an elevator. The outside of the hotel has been redone very nicely. Although old it's very well kept. The room was a very pleasant surprise. Totally redone, spotlessly clean, new everything. Comfortable bed and pillows. I wanted to be able to walk in, spray everything down with Lysol spray and then air it out quickly. The front desk person was nice and wearing a mask. Travel feels risky in Covid times but this place feels very clean and safe. The bathroom is small as some people said but so clean that it shines. I don't need a big bathroom. I will definitely plan to stop here again. read more

Don't even think about it. I've stayed in lots of hotels over many years, from luxury to economy, and this was one of the worst experiences I've had. I'm not that picky. When I checked in they would not match the price I was showing them available at that moment on Orbitz. The desk clerk said prices might have been raised that day. I had no hot water the entire night and next morning I was there. I called to complain the night before and ask to get it fixed for a morning shower. Was not offered a different room or any other accommodation. When I complained again the next morning they said my whole building was out. They had 4 buildings and others looked totally empty. Why were they putting us in that building if hot water was out. Room had live and dead bugs and spider webs. Breakfast was pretty pathetic. I was kept awake by a very bright light shining on a white wall outside my room and reflecting in because the curtains did not completely block it. On the other hand I walked to get food after dark and the light just around the side of the building was out, creating a dark alley. I'm getting worked up just thinking about it. I was struggling to find decently priced pet friendly hotels in the west Texas area but I came across this Super 8 and booked it despite the lack of reviews. I am very glad I did because I had a wonderful experience! My GPS took me to the wrong location, behind a gas station up a little road. There is is a sign that says Super 8 express or something like that but there is no lobby. When I pulled out of the lot I noticed a bigger Super 8 sign just a little bit down the road and that one did have a lobby and was the right place. If you are coming from I-10, you take 277 and it will dead end. Make sure to turn right and you will see the right parking lot. Don't go behind the gas station straight ahead. This is a small hotel and there were a lot of guys hanging around the parking lot but it did feel safe. Lots of cameras in the parking lot and well lit. I am a female and I was by myself however I did have my Doberman with me and I felt safe. Check in was easy and the room was very clean and modern. Looks like it was recently updated with hard wood floors and a nice bathroom. There is a large grassy area in the middle of the parking lot if you have a dog. There is a $20 pet fee but this was worth it considering other hotels in the area were $200+ and had more expensive pet fees and deposits. The breakfast in the morning was decent- I just grabbed some cereal in a cup to eat on the road but there was a waffle maker and lots of items to chose from. I enjoyed my experience here and would definitely recommend this hotel. read more
