We have decided to make Holiday Inn Express our "go to" lodging when traveling across the country…read more The one in Ozona, Texas is a fine example of Holiday Inn Express at its best. The staff members here are attentive and friendly. The rooms are modern and clean with comfortable beds, good desks, and plenty of room for unpacking luggage. The bathrooms are clean and well stocked with shower supplies. Amenities include free breakfast, free high speed WiFi, a fitness center, and even a public computer. The best surprise at Holiday Inn Express is "no surprise." It isn't like some lodging chains where one stay may be great and the next place, part of the same chain, may not be as clean or have old beds, furniture, and facilities. We never have that type of unpleasant surprise at Holiday Inn Express. The quality is consistently high. We know what to expect with every stay.

Worst hotel manager of the year?…read more At first, we gave this hotel high marks: clean, newly refurbished, nice gym, easy access to I-10. However, that story changed when it came time to take a shower... Turn the water on, and the shower head pops off the fixture! I tried to fit it back on several times, but the fixture was clearly broken (and mysteriously left for new guests to use...and find out for themselves). Unable to shower effectively, I marched to the front desk to seek some kind of small refund. I was told by the desk staff they could do nothing: because I had booked through Expedia, I could only see restitution through them. I still wanted to speak to the manager to let him know what happened, and was introduced to Shiv Patel. Mr. Shiv Patel informed me that my experience was incorrect: the shower head, in his opinion, was not broken. I asked if he wanted to see the photo I had taken. But Mr. Patel said, "No thank you!'. Perplexed by his reasoning that this was somehow my imagination, I asked to speak to the owner of the hotel. He refused. Feel free to look at the picture. I should also note that the phone did not work. There was no dial tone, the phone was plugged in and getting power. When I talked to the front desk, they said they would take a note and talk to the manager. From my experience, the manager, Mr. Patel, will not be doing any repairs, nor will he be taking responsibility whatsoever. After all, all problems with the hotel are in the guests' imagination. Is reason

The room we received was not as advertised. They really need to update their photos. We felt unsafe…read morebecause they had shifty people that seemed to be under the influence of something loitering there. They proudly put a sanitation sign on their bathroom but that has to be the nastiest bathroom I have ever seen at a hotel. The room felt like a jail cell with the cinder blocks, limited lighting, and disgusting beds. Their beds had no fitted sheet but instead had a flat sheet wrapped around it. Pillows were flat and overused. When asked to receive a refund after wanting to check out less than 20 mins of being there, we were told we had to deal with Expedia. We did the book now, pay later because we wanted to see if we can get my military discount as well. We contacted Expedia. They could not issue the refund but said the hotel had to. When contacting the hotel with that information they then continued to refuse to issue a refund because the beds were used. They absolutely were not. They were being cheap. DO NOT GO TO THIS PROPERTY.
