Worst hotel manager of the year? At first, we gave this hotel high marks: clean, newly refurbished, nice gym, easy access to I-10. However, that story changed when it came time to take a shower... Turn the water on, and the shower head pops off the fixture! I tried to fit it back on several times, but the fixture was clearly broken (and mysteriously left for new guests to use...and find out for themselves). Unable to shower effectively, I marched to the front desk to seek some kind of small refund. I was told by the desk staff they could do nothing: because I had booked through Expedia, I could only see restitution through them. I still wanted to speak to the manager to let him know what happened, and was introduced to Shiv Patel. Mr. Shiv Patel informed me that my experience was incorrect: the shower head, in his opinion, was not broken. I asked if he wanted to see the photo I had taken. But Mr. Patel said, "No thank you!'. Perplexed by his reasoning that this was somehow my imagination, I asked to speak to the owner of the hotel. He refused. Feel free to look at the picture. I should also note that the phone did not work. There was no dial tone, the phone was plugged in and getting power. When I talked to the front desk, they said they would take a note and talk to the manager. I made the reservation, not realizing this was a motel. I was surprised to find out that although it appears to be old, everything was in working order. All advertised amenities were present but nothing fancy. Comfortable bed, good shower, nice TV, and good door lock . No extras, but we got a good nights sleep. I loved being able to park our car right outside of our door. The town itself is very small with only two restaurants. One of them is an asian style food, but we didn't eat there so can't comment on that food. We chose the Mexican food restaurant. We were disappointed with it as everything you asked for is an extra charge and the food itself is not cooked according to mainstream expectations. For instance, we ordered fajitas and had to pay extra for the tortillas which usually come with the meal. there was some confusion about the way we ordered so I would recommend repeating every detail to the person taking the order to make sure you're both on the same page. I asked for water to drink. They brought bottled water, which of course was also an extra charge on our ticket. I would've put the restaurant review on its own yelp site. However, the Mexican food restaurant isn't even listed online!!!! Maybe I should've looked it up first! read more

Conveniently located right off I-10. Receptionist didn't gave us a king bed as required at reservation, instead, she gave us a double beds when she found this was a free stay since we used our reward points. Room was clean, AC, fridge and microwave were working. Wifi was slow. Bathroom was clean, however, outdated and towels were old. Beds and pillows were comfy. Room insulation wasn't very good. There was a group of people right outside our room that loud talking until 10pm (our room was on ground floor). Since we had to leave early in the morning, we didn't take a breakfast at the hotel. The room is nice enough, and the front desk worker was certainly desiring to help us have a good experience. 50+ bugs. We found between 50+ cricket-type bugs (more than an inch long) throughout our room. From running across the floor, to dead under the furniture, to crawling out of who knows where. I borrowed one of the front desk's vacuums and had to move every single bed and piece of furniture to get to them - my tired mother and I killing as many as we could as we went, overtired and just wanting to unload and go for a late dinner. We are stuck because we can't cancel our reservation and risk that another hotel would be expensive last minute. Sounds like they are offering a small discount of less than 1/3 off our room price, but at this point, after conversations with both them and Priceline, I just feel frustrated and insulted. This is a diamond in the rough. The exterior and lot look a little run down. BUT the two rooms we had were pristine, modern, and far better than expected. Our parents stayed in the handicap room and there was a well done sit down shower as well as open floor plan, lowered queen bed with plenty of room for their walker and other equipment. We were in the attached normal two fullbed room and it was also clean, recently updated, and everything worked. Sonora is in the middle of texas along the 10 and this place deserves far more than the prior three star rating. By the way, if you are there for lunch or dinner, check out the Pit Stop BBQ just a quarter mile away. read more

Checked in at 9:30pm, and checked out after less than 3 hours and drove another six hours home to Houston because the noise was so insane from other guests, and the front desk wouldn't do anything about the situation other than call "the cops" (who obviously have no interest in responding to a noise complaint on a Saturday night, when they have bigger fish to fry). It became quickly clear that the noise was not going to stop. I will note that we even had brought a white noise machine to HELP, and it didn't (we've stayed here before, and some noise is typical, but this was totally out of hand). When we checked out, I obviously asked to speak to a manager and was told "oh no, we can't wake the manager up." Funny how the manager's sleep is more important than the sleep of a paying guest! Anyway, I was told the manager would call me, but the manager never did. I called back again, and left another message, and it has now been almost a week and the manager still hasn't called me. They obviously don't care AT ALL. I would never stay here again... heck, we drove six extra hours at midnight to avoid staying here! read more

This is by far the worst motel I have stayed in. April at the front desk is very rude, and unfriendly! She did not great me as a elite member. The doors open to the outside. There are birds on the roof that keep you awake all night. You can see daylight. I had roaches in my room. This is a roach motel! The quality inn in Kerrville is much better! The bed in our room was comfortable but made a banging noise every time you got in or out. Woke me up every time my husband got up and back in. The front desk said they were new beds and they were still adjusting them. This place was horribly noisy. In addition to highway noise there were loud guests. Since other reviews mentioned this also and that these were work crews that were causing the noise during our stay, my guess is they stay frequently and the hotel does nothing to make them respect others. Also our TV didn't work. To be fair we didn't call the front desk to fix it as we didn't want anyone in our room due to covid. Let me say - the star rating for SureStay across the road from Quality Inn has got to be fabricated! But, go to Quality Inn! Greeted by an extremely kind and professional man at the front desk on 4-20-20 at approx.6pmish....told him we were tired and briefly told him about our 20 minute experience across the street with a room with no lights, another with no bathroom light and Mold in the frig. He put us in a comfortable King for me and husband with a sofa bed for our adult daughter. The rate was perfect and the room was absolutely clean, everything worked and he was so kind to call our room to make sure we were happy. Thank you Quality Inn and thank you to this employee! What a positive experience for us during a very difficult time in our lives. read more

Average motel. The address I was sent in my confirmation email was way off (2 miles). The wifi only worked in the lobby. Breakfast was decent considering it was free. read more
