Looked this place up on Hotels.com and realized it was the cheapest in the area so I figured I would check it out. I was wanting to pull over badly from a day of driving. I am so happy that I did. Happily it has been nothing but a positive experience. Starting with the girl at the desk, sweet as pie. We chatted a bit. She told me everything I needed to know and upon entering my room I was more than satisfied. Sparkling clean and updated, the bed is very comfy and the heater works excellent. We are having unseasonably cold weather right now. So yeah, great place all the way around. Also great locks on the door. Oh and restaurant next door. read more

Had the best accomodations for a pet friendly 2 star hotel!! During a long distance trip we broke down in this small town. Had to find a hotel that we could bring our dogs in with us and this one was perfect! It has one of the best fenced in dog runs that we been to. It's not only nice for the dogs but for us too because it is a pretty little quiet walk. Hotel has wood floors making it easier with dogs. Small refrigerator and microwave also. Bring broken down, it was very convenient because it has a decent steakhouse to eat at right next door with great staff. There is a gas station with small convenience store two minutes walk away. Best of all is the motel 6 management! Very accommodating to us having to park a large horse trailer .. and late check out when needed. read more

Do not follow the GPS directions and get gas in San Antonio if traveling west. You can see it from the exit - just look and go because the GPS is clearly not "from these here parts". This use to be a Days Inn so you GPS May reflect that as well. It has a unique layout not like other Motel 6's I have stayed at. Was clean, safe, comfortable and quiet. Could use a little updating, but was clean so that is ok ... lots of windows, unique layout. Not much around, but there is a conveniently located gas station/market as well as steak house. read more

For a budget hotel this is one of the better ones. The room was spacious and well maintained. There were some little flaws but it was better than I expected. The only real negative was that the wifi was fairly slow. The front desk receptionist was great read more

I have been staying at this location for over 25 years when it was a Days Inn. The rooms are OK nothing fancy usually clean, the last couple of times I have stayed , there was issues with the TV not working, there is no local channels , so you cannot watch the weather or news. But the rooms are usually quite , and the staff has allways been friendly. read more

I needed a place to stay for one night with my 2 kids and my grandparents. Upon check in the hotel seemed clean. My grandparents were given a room in a single story building and I was given a 2nd floor room. My grandparents room was clean...but not the clean and smell you expect from hotels. There was grime in the bathroom, their toilet ran all night, their phone did not work, and they refused to shower. My room was no better. It was a double bed and immediately my son figured out the remote did not work lol our sink stopper was stuck closed, the bathroom was dirty, some our towels had stains on them, and some of the outlets did not work. Next time we will try a different hotel for sure! read more

The Motel 6 in Sonora was a wonderful place to stay! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely updated. The staff was extremely friendly and willing to go the extra mile to provide a great stay. The Motel 6 was near the golf course, a nice restaurant (Sutton County Steakhouse) and was conveniently right off of the interstate. They also had a little store selling snacks and drinks. The hotel was recently updated and felt safe. If you are traveling on I-10 I highly recommend spending the night at Motel 6 in Sonora. read more

Do NOT stay here! Staff will enter your room unauthorized. I am a well known public figure who was traveling for a death in the family. Upon arrival to our room the heater wasn't working. I informed the office and was offerred another room after we returned from dinner only to return to our room that had been entered by staff while we were gone. At no time was authorization given to enter our room while we were at dinner and upon our return the TV was on, all the lights and the heater was working. When I asked to speak to management I was told they did have authority to enter when in fact they did not. Our verbal arrangements were to change room upon our return and again I didn't authorize anyone to enter our room when we were at dinner. I tried to discuss the issue upon check out to only further be faced with a snotty lady named Laura Garza, claiming to be a manager, informing me that yes they did have the right to enter my room. NO THEY DIDN'T and I will never stay at another Motel 6. They get NO RATING and Laura, shame on you! read more

My room was old & gave that icky, unupdated, slightly unmaintained feel. The good? * Really nice, efficient & professional front desk staff. * Convenient off highway. * Lots of interior lights. * Free WiFi, reasonable speed the thundery, rainy night I stayed. * Large flat screen with a # of good channels. That's it. * Small fridge & microwave. The could be better? * I'm annoyed that today the website says the rate is $45/nt, but it was $63 + tax, when I checked in. Guess you've got to book it online for the low rate... bit hard to do when relocating... I never know how far I can driving in 1-day. * The chain also no longer offers an AARP discount at any of their motels... that 10% generally pays all the tax, so unless you are/were in the military or can prove you're over 62, no discount for you. * Motel in desperate need of an update... pea soup green walls & olive green carpeting have to be from the 60s. My phone wasn't operational & needed to be unplugged as the msg alert red button wouldn't stop flashing. * Outlets are old & there aren't extras. I had to unplug 1 of the lamps to use that outlet for my computer charger. * Really out of date bathroom... toilet seat is not only peeling & gross, it's not attached properly, so unless you sit gingerly, you may just fall off... I almost did. Didn't help that the doorknobs were sticky & had to wipe them all down with Handiwipes. The area? * Really, really economically depressed area (drive 1 street over & it's a complete ghost town... Holy Depression, Batman!) with basically nothing in the way of anything. There is a beer/liquor store, with a very limited selection. Take out food is scant & gross... Dairy Queen (worst food I ever had for $11), Chester's Fried Chicken is at the gas station, Sonic is across the street & there's a steak restaurant attached to the motel, but given the state of the room, I didn't want to sit down for $$ or trust the quality of their offerings. No WalMart, no market (my GPS said there was one a few streets over... there's nothing but broken down, abandoned bldgs all around). * People are friendly enough, but the economic depression has bored into them. I originally come from an old, depressed, coal mining town... I know the look well. The verdict? Too expensive for such a depressing, rundown place. There's another hotel here... looks newer... but, I came for the advertised price, which wasn't the price. I wouldn't stay again, unless I had to get off the road, like today. 2.5 to 3* out of 5. read more

This is now my favorite hotel chain that I will always be staying at. The place is pet friendly and they only charge for people staying in the rooms not your fur babies. The night rep was very friendly and helpful. Room was amazing had room for Zoey my dog and Olive my cat to relax stretch and play after being cooped up in a budget truck all day. Really good room for the price. Spacious, tidy, big TV, mini fridge, microwave, desk and office chair. Staff was friendly and had no problem when I drove up at midnight with no reservation. He even told me about the breakfast special down the road. I give it 4 stars because it smells like cigarette smoke and the only provided toiletry is a bar of soap. read more

I called and reserved a room for my brother who was traveling west and I used my debit card for the reservation reasons and my brother was to pay when he got there. The charged both me cats and his and when I called the only person who could help was the manager who was never there and wont return my calls. read more

This hotel.is over rated at a 3 1/2. It os not higher than a 2. Service was fine and the room was clean, but that is it. No extras in the room. The area is a little shady amd the characters hanging around made me a little nervous. There were crashed cars in the parking lot and it appeared that the clientele were long term. We didn't have any trouble, but it only deserves a 2.5. read more
