We checked in very late and no issues there. The room looked like it was recently renovated- clean, had a microwave and fridge. They provided coupons for breakfast at the adjoining steakhouse. The sunny side up eggs and toast were perfect. Simple but filling. The only two issues were that housekeeping woke us up with her incessant banging at 8 am and that conditioner and lotion were missing. But all in all, a good deal at 75 bucks. read more

Super hard to find . The address is somehow wrong in google maps so we had to call to find out where it was . I wish there was a department to call to get a place shut down . Maybe health inspection , I don't know but if someone see this review and wants to use my picture to do so , go ahead . I had read the reviews to not go under the blankets but I did ...I was freezing and we had four hours to sleep before going back on the road so I was to tired to check that night and what I saw in the morning ... Service was alright, room was filthy and in very poor condition. Sheets had visible stains & dirt. Dead roaches & insect droppings in every corner. Kneeled beside the bed for a brief moment, discovered a crushed cockroach body stuck to my ankle when I stood back up!!! Disgusting!!! Pile of dead bugs and a spider web (with live spider) behind the bed!!! Ugh!!! Good thing there IS a live spider in here though, or there would probably be a LOT of live bugs instead of dead ones. Called front office to see if anything could be done about the room. He offered to move me to the room next door. I knew it would be more of the same, given the proximity to the problem room, AND I would have to start my room inspection over from scratch. On the plus side, while I was stripping the bed to check for bedbugs, I found no signs of a bedbug infestation! So that's a plus! Would not recommend to anyone. See posted photos. read more

The movie "Vacancy" live and in person!! From the moment you pull up and see the long distance the office and pool sits from the rooms, you wonder what is going on at this location. The rooms look to be erected in the 1960s. Within 10 minutes of getting in, we saw a cockroach run across the floor. Furniture - They are different as they have a round table with 4 chairs just inside the door. The counter that runs along the wall with the TV is suppose to take up space to substitute for NO CLOSETS but that wood and surface was subpar at best. The curtains did not close completely so light was in our room by 7:30am. The hotel staff knocked on our door around 9am. Other guests were speaking loudly and knocked on our window around 9:30am. The door and windows are so thin that you can hear everything outside. El Paso to San Antonio is a tough 8-hour drive but I would try to do it as all the hotels and places along I-10 are scary and overpriced. read more

I must have been in a recently renovated room. Looked like the paint was fresh and brand new sheets, blankets on the bed and fairly new towels in the bathroom. For what it is and the cost of it I give it 4 stars. I don't mean to say that this is a four star destination. But it is(at least from what I experienced) deserving of a good score in comparison to the other economy hotels. Especially the ones in nearby towns. It's the kind of place you stop at just to sleep. This place is located right off the highway... Don't totally depend on your GPS, look with your eyes, and you'll get there no problem. Heading East it will be on your left hand side before the Dry Devils River bridge, heading west... well, you get the picture. You get a free hot meal next door at the steak house. It's does the job, the people are polite and the service is good. I hope they continue to make improvements. I'll be stopping there again for the night sometime in the future. Hopefully I will be as happy as I was this time around. read more

I attempted the Tucson to San Antonio drive in one day, which is almost a 900 mile feat -- but fell about 200 miles short and had to call it a day at Sonora because, #1) I was tired and #2) the speed limit on I-10 drops from 80 mph to 65 mph after sunset, which was fast approaching, so why bother, right? The Days Inn was next to the Shell station where I stopped for gas, and also had a local steakhouse conveniently situated next to the motel. The room was cheap ($65, including tax with a AAA discount) and came with free WiFi. Also, while there is no fitness center on this property, guests are allowed to use the adequately-equipped fitness center at the Comfort Inn on the south side of the freeway -- which I did (I was told the owner of the Days Inn franchise also owns the Comfort Inn franchise, which is why this is possible). The room was clean, the TV. worked and came with HBO, and the WiFi was strong, at least where my room was situated (room #262). Included in the price of the room is a "hot breakfast" at the aforementioned steakhouse, for which you pick up a voucher at the front desk in the morning. I'm writing this the night before so I can't comment on breakfast yet -- I did eat dinner at this steakhouse, and I'll write a separate review on that (2 1/2 star, I'd say) after I've also had breakfast there tomorrow morning. All-in-all it's the Days Inn franchise, for god sakes -- nothing spectacular, and it's located in a boring town with no bars or cocktail lounges. Meh. This part of Texas is so difficult to get through -- they should raise the speed limit to 120 mph to help mitigate the pain. read more

Motel was clean and okay but we had two big bugs in our room. One dead, the other considering our air conditioner. The front desk clerk was very nice and helpful. The restaurant, gave us a new barometer of inadequate. A steak house that only had pink sin, no red. Guess it must be a compromise wine. No tonic for gin and tonic. Bud light beer. The burger was good and the staff, again were very nice. read more

Nothing in this part of the world is worth stopping for but if you must, this place may not be so bad if you're looking for roadside. First room we were checked into had a bathtub with about an inch of standing rusty water and mysterious black bits of what might have been corroded pipe. No bueno. I asked for another room and the second one was fine. There is a nice grassy dog run with bags provided here and you get breakfast at the steakhouse next door (not much, bit it's sustenance). There's not much to eat in this town at night so keep that in mind I'd you're planning to stop late. Lots of workers and their work rigs stay here. Three stars considering the local options, 2 compared to civilized venues. read more

My fiance said the clerk at the front desk when we check in last night was sweet. We asked for the most basic room which cost us about $70 which isn't bad to us. Looked like it needed to be cleaned a bit better but besides that I really enjoyed my stay. When we check out they have is a voucher for two free breakfasts plates next door at a restaurant which we planned on going to anyways so that was a plus. The food was really good too. The lady who was working in the restaurant was so sweet. She made our morning start off great. So in other words I recommend this place and will be back on our way home from our trip. read more

WARNING stay away. Poisonous spiders and wolf spiders infested in the rooms and entire area. We checked in and checked out all with in 15 minutes. The front office evening staff was rude, unfriendly, cold and sarcastic. The room was dirty and very dated. Spiders all around. Spider in the bed, wolf spiders on the floor and all around. Very very dangerous. We ran with our suitcase to our car and then to the office. They were aware of the problem. They had almost been bitten themselves just sitting in the office. They don't do bi-monthly pest control. They said they see brown recluse, widow and wolf spiders and scorpions. They seemed amused almost in a sadistic sort of way. They were bizarre to say the least. They should not be renting rooms at all until this problem is resolved. Apparently this has been going on for sometime. It's rundown and creepy. You will end up in the ER. Warning read more

Don't be scared by the old reviews of this place - it's clean and comfortable and totally reasonable for the price. The room was large, the bed was comfy, the sheets and blankets were clean, the bathroom was spic and span, and the heating unit was quiet, far from our heads, and very effective. Everything seemed pretty new and well kept. Also the folks working at the front desk were really nice AND you get a free hot breakfast from the steak house next door. Am a Wyndam Diamond member. Attempted to check in with ID and Wyndam card. Informed night clerk rhat in addition to ID all info would be in Wyndam website under my number. He said he could not and in ADDITION TO PAYING CASH A CC WAS REQUIRED AND A HOLD WOULD BE PUT ON. I strongly objected as all info in website. Called owner. She did not care about my Diamond status. Revamped recently. Our room was all new and very clean. These folks are pet friendly; they have an enclosed dog run adjacent to the motel that our dog got to run in after a day in the car. They have a voucher for breakfast at the restaurant next door. We have found our place to stay when we travel this area; way better than the competition. read more
