Everything. So many opportunities to improve. I'm our room 112, the bathroom door would not close. The shampoo bottle was open and there was no shampoo. They have to improve on the detergent they use or the linens they purchase, I woke up to my eyes swollen no idea what allergens were in the bedding. I brought these issues to the front desk, Pat. She made a note of how bad my eyes were and was told she would have the owner look into this and get back to me. It's been 5 days and no response. I Give zero stars. My husband, my daughter, and I travel to Plainview from Arlington, Texas. He checked in Saturday the seventh checked out Sunday morning, Our grandfather was taking his last dying breaths through Saturday night. It was heartbreaking. All the family came from all parts of the country Together by grandfather. You can imagine how heartbroken we are by morning, knowing he had passed away. In the morning, the maids kept knocking on our door, asking us to leave. at each knock both my husband and I tried to explain the situation and that we were getting our things together in attempts to get out of the room and headed home. The very last knock that I got, I answered and it was a woman who told me if I wasn't out in five minutes that it was protocol that they call the police. So we're rushing and throwing our things in the car I ended up not knowing where my wallet was and a set of keys. We had to go back to the hotel where I told the lady at the desk what had happened with the threat of police involved. The maids lied and said they never said it . I was shocked luckily I found my things in the car. Once we opened everything up and arranged things more orderly right in front of the doors of the hotel when we had come back thinking our things were missing all this happening as we are mourning the loss of our grandfather, then I come home and realize my daughter and I have bedbug bites!!!! I've taken pictures. Mine are on my breast and my daughters are all over her legs. I will never stay at that place again and I don't recommend it to anyone. If I could give less than a star I would. After being charged twice for the same amount then being charged for a single might due to the clerk making a unauthorized charge because she was combined I owed a night which is ridiculous considering the week was paid and posted to the hotels account. I had to give this review. I feel sorry for the other workers cause honestly they were great and helpful. Just the one who kept double charged and charged for the night. Rooms are old and outdated. Air conditioning still had us hot in our room. I didn't look at the so called breakfast. Groups of men drinking till whenever at night. I wouldn't bring my daughters to a place like this. I have stayed in this hotel over a month. Where do I begin? Initial problems with the room key activating machine or RFD reader. Most of the time the staff was only activating the key card per day, and not for the total of the stay. When a person is carrying heavy electronic gear and luggage to boot, the key card would often not work with the external door! This presented with safety concerns since the contractors or oil field people were then propping open doors. And wondering if anyone would possibly be attacked in just trying to get open the door. Apparently this business owned by Northstar 2 Inc. has another Super 8 in Canyon. The owner took the key card activator THERE, but not before generously supplying each room with only 4 cards each. Oh, yay. We were told not to place the card near any metal or place it next to keys or other magnetic strip cards. This would deactivate the card. Arrrghhh! I spoke with manager over the phone and presented the case of safety. Guess what? A new key card activator appeared. No problemo. The housekeepers are in short supply as well as cleaning supplies. And don't ask for extra towels, oh no, the towel mistress of the Gestapo will not honor that request. I actually feel sorry for the housekeepers and maintenance. They have very little to help them do their jobs. And yes, I have worked at a high-end B and B in the past. There's absolutely no presentation of esthetics here to make people feel comfortable. My comfort was asking for my room not to burn down. One of the nights I was sleeping, my fire alarm went off. People are so nonchalant here. I definitely smelled burning as in electrical wiring. I searched until I discovered the source. The outlet behind my bed was pulled away from the wall with frayed wiring showing. I noted a burn mark on the baseboard. I unplugged everything I could, and in so doing, also discovered frayed wiring of the connectors to the phone and to the wall. I could not sleep wondering if a phoenix would rise again from the potential ashes of danger. Next, let's talk about the continental breakfast. Cereal, oatmeal, apples or bananas, muffins, occasional hot chocolate, and watery coffee. Oh yes, toast and jelly. Nothing of protein here, only carbs and sugar. I usually picked out a couple fruit and a hot chocolate packet, carrying it as grab and go items. The decor is outdated and the carpet sometimes sticky. I guess we need extra traction in order to run out of here. I will say the morning manager and front desk young lady were kind, but likely at wit's end, because the owner is perhaps kvetch and chintzy with trying to make this place better for everyone. I am sure this Super 8 is the stepchild to the Super 8 in Canyon, TX. Treat your customers right! I paid quite a bit to stay here. The first track was $63 a night through Expedia, so was the 2nd track. The third and final extension (thank you God) was $75 a night. Some of the housekeepers were nice and really made my room look decent. Some weren't as attentive, but like I say, shorthanded. It's a motivation killer. Goodbye all. Goodbye forever to this place. Oh, lastly, older front desk lady, you may be a likable sort, but stop acting like you know the importance of customer service and actually start doing customer service. Finito. Ciao. read more

If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. My fiancé and I drove all night from Houston, were very tired and were just looking for a place to sleep for a few hours, we rented a room which we couldn't even stay in because it had not been cleaned. The bed was not made, sheets were not changed, there were empty soda bottles on the bedside table, no one had come by to clean the room that had been vacated and rent to us, we asked for a refund and left, it been 2 weeks and still no refund which we were told would take 3 days send to us despite multiple calls to management and promises of a refund. Rode 15.5 hours on a bus, then walked from the bus station a mile away with 100 pounds of luggage to find out they lock the place up and leave at 11:00pm. Also they dont answer their phones. If you're looking for the most amazing.....ly horrible motel in this quaint Texas town, then please stay here. We settled in for a evening slumber with light snow falling outside and the loud buzz of the heater. What you might think would be the wind whipping the awning around outside on this cold winters eve was actually the curtains flapping around from the high end ventilation system. What was supposed to be dark was light courtesy of the outside building light. Some duct tape and an ironing board later, that problem was solved. Our attempts to reach the concierge went unanswered. We simply wanted to change rooms. Around 4am room service to take our breakfast order and also informed us we could move rooms. Some 5 hours after requested. We asked for a discount instead and were offered a very generous $5. Upon attempting to take a shower we found what appeared to be science experiment gone bad. That or they forgot and left the Petri dishes out which allows the mold to escape. But we elected to forgo the aforementioned shower to avoid certain death from the rotted out curtain rod holder. In the end the manager had no shits to give. They admitted to being fully aware of their shortfalls yet are content to rent subpar spaces taking advantage of hard working poverty level Americans. SO HOW BAD WAS IT!!!? This is the worse hotel in the great state of Texas!! We came back to my home town of Plainview Texas to bury my wonderful mother after 83 years of an amazing life. My wife and three children and my grandson were put in the situation of having to stay at the Super 8 by Wyndham which is NOT my hotel I normally use and now I know exactly why I will never stay again. The check in process was smooth and the front desk clerk was very nice and pleasant. However...after the first night or morning of my mom's funeral, my daughter calls me and says she sees a little bug in the bed and it appears to be a bed bug. I immediately made her and my grandson get out the bed and check their bodies over for bites or bugs. Luckily nothing was on either. My sons, who were in the next bed over, checked their bed and they also spotted one bug that definitely was a bed bug. Again after checking themselves over they had no bites or bugs on them. Me and my sons then proceeded to look the beds over and remove the sheets and mattress pads to see if there were more that were visible. We found no bugs BUT the darn sheets on my son's bed had blood stains on the sheets and were tucked under the bed and hidden. I saw a housekeeper in the hall way and asked her to step in the room. I explained to her what just happened and that we were extremely unpleased and wanted the room changed. She told the gentleman that we "assumed" was the manager. He came up and with little concern told me he would change them to another room and that the tainted room would be heat treated. I told him I was very disappointed and would not pay for that night of service. We then went to my mom's funeral. After returning, the manager had a front desk clerk (NOT THE MANAGER HIMSELF BUT THE FRONT DESK CLERK) approach me with "concerns" of my son grabbing the housekeeper and yelling at her! ALL LIES! She said they have him on video. I asked to see the video but was told that the manager was the only one who could show the video! Again...I suspect another lie!! ALL OF THIS WAS ALSO FOLLOWED BY WE WOULD NOT BE COMPENSATED FOR OUR SERIOUS INCONVENIENCES DURING OUR TIME OF MOURNING THOUGH THERE WAS NO FAULT OF OUR OWN! I told the front desk clerk ( who actually turned out to be very nice) that my sons never spoke to the housekeeper but I was the one who spoke to her. No one ever touched her or yelled at her. I simply wanted them to know there was a major issue that needed to be resolved. I even went as far as to let the clerk meet my sons (NOT THAT I HAD TO DO SO OR SHOULD HAVE DONE SO) to show her the two outstanding young men who's name and character they were trying to besmirch to save a few measly pennies!! The clerk expressed her embarrassment at the suggestion of one of my sons treating the housekeeper, let alone any lady, with nothing but respect and she apologized. However...when I brought up seeing the video again it was quickly dismissed. The next day, I had to take my sons to the airport in Lubbock, Texas to catch their flight home. While returning to Plainview, I got a text message from my wife. The message was simply a picture of a shattered sink on what appeared to be wet carpet. I called her and asked what happened and she said while trying to brush her teeth at the sink, it fell out and broke over the floor barely missing her feet.Luckily none of the shattered pieces cut her. My wife then goes to the front desk and tells them what happened! THEY DID NOT EVEN SEEMED SHOCKED! They just said we will put you in another room. I was so annoyed and disappointed in this hotel and its staff that I told my wife to tell them that we would just stay right there since we were going to check out later that evening and did not want the inconvenience of moving all of our stuff for a few hours longer. OH...IT WAS ALSO EXPRESSED THAT THERE WOULD BE NO REFUNDS!! SO...HOW BAD WAS IT!! I would rather sleep in a cardboard box than ever stay at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Plainview, Texas!!! If this hotel is ever my last option while in my home town, I will stay over in Lubbock instead and make the inconvenient drive of 40 minutes daily back and forth before EVER staying here again!! I gave it one star because I could Not give it NO STARS!! Oh...we never saw the manager in person during this entire debacle!! He coward behind his staff and forced them to deliver his gross, greedy and incompetent decisions! How could Wyndham do business with this kind of partner?? read more

Cockroaches in the room - this is unacceptable. Shabby room, shabby interior, with the hallways alternatively smelling of urine and marijuana. For breakfast, we chose pre-packaged danishes, which, upon further inspection, had mold on every single one (in hindsight, I wish I had seen that before I had eaten half of mine). Card keys work when they want to, and the room window on the ground floor was unlocked - not very secure. Family that runs the place is super nice though, were very attentive (moldy danishes nonwithstanding) and pleasant, and allowed my group a late check out. Would not come back though. read more

This hotel is terrible. I'd give it a zero if I could. Holes in the carpet, stains on the furniture room smells like someone smoked a carton cigarettes in it, finger prints all over the door. The only positive thing to say is Roger who checked us in was pleasant. Should have read the reviews prior to booking. I don't know how TripAdvior cabin give this 3 stars. read more

Place is disgusting. Absolute garbage. I contemplated just spending an extra $100 to get a room at a different hotel across the street. 99% sure there was mildew in my room. At 8pm at night there was a gardener with a leaf blower going crazy like it was 12pm. Whole place smells terrible. It's just run down. Needs to just close. DP JOT STAY HERE. I don't know where to start... When I walked in, I simply tapped my leg on the corner of a wall, and the wall corner protector fell. There were several spots which needed repainted, several fixtures were installed incorrectly, the bath room floors were sticky, several things needed replaced, I heard people yelling outside, and the room smells like bird food. Someone had writen "THIS _____ SUCKS ***" on the wall of the bathroom. I agree. The tiny air conditioner was LOUD. I haven't even been here for 30 minutes, yet. This is the worst hotel/motel I've ever been to. I would rather sleep on a tent than stay here. Do yourself a favor and go to the Holiday Inn half a mile down the street. EDIT: Breakfast was good and the lady at the desk was nice, but, that will not change my opinion on the hotel. read more

Oh Where do i start. The Front desk paint was pealing and had a odd odor. The room was 80 degrees and only had a little a/c unit. The Out door security door didn't lock (the door to the parking lot) and when we called for a wake up call they said that they didn't have a system. The room itself is decent size and clean. And the front desk lady was very nice. But there is a new holiday inn down the road and I would stay there if I ever come back to plain view. Even if the rooms are $20 more. read more

HORRIBLE Hotel. Do not stay here. The Hotel was dirty. The room had an old reclining chair with grease stains, and who knows what other kinds of crusty stains were on it. I wouldn't sit in that chair for fear of a disease. The curtains were just hanging half off the windows.The security doors did not work. I did not feel safe there at all. The grounds were so run down, weeds every where. I actually thought it was an abandoned building. It smelled. If that isn't enough, I hung my shirt in closet for early flight the next day. I went briefly out to get something to eat. When I went to put my shirt on in the morning, it was gone. Someone actually went into my room and stole my shirt. I told the front desk, and they said they would send me money for the shirt and look into it. Of course, I never heard a word from them. read more

the room smelled terrible, cockroaches around the lites,,..wifi didnt work,,and several days after i had checked out i was charged a PET FEE of $15.00 and i dont even have a pet. i called the office told them and all they would do was argue, i told them the people across the hall had 3 dogs and i didnt have a pet. they refused to refund the $15, so i had the room charge and pet fee reversed off my credit card.so they got no money at all from me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT HOTEL. And also there was people walking around the parking lot all nite, you could hear people screaming and partying. Police were in and out of parking lot constantly. I dont think the place is safe at all. read more
