We signed the contract at the end of April. Our solar was installed in the 2nd week of June and we still don't have a working system. There's been one delay after another with our project. They have made mistake after mistake. We are beyond frustrated and regretful that we chose this company. If you are looking for a smooth and professional transaction. Not happy with this company. At the time of signing our contract approximately the first week of July, we were told that our system should be up and running by the first or second week in October. It is now December 4th and the construction crew just arrived this morning to make corrections for the third time as the system was not approved by the city of Peoria. When you are in the process of buying their product they tell you if birds become a problem under your panels they will put bird netting free of charge. My panels were installed in October 2021 and by January/February I had pigeons using the space under my panels as their sleeping quarters. The pigeons are up there every night not occasionally. I have gone back and for with customer service and nothing. I am now preparing to get quotes from another company to do for me what Sunsolar Solutions said they would do but failed to do. If you decide to get solar from them force them as a condition to purchase that netting is done on installation otherwise you will never get it. in a nut shell we have had our solar panels with sunsolar for less than two years and already the inverter went out which we found out when we received an APS bill for 455.00. I called APS at the end of July and the wonderful rep went through my solar readings and advised there have not been any solar energy produced since July 3. I called sunsolar and they proceeded to ask if I have been monitoring my solar production. We said no. Who has time when you have a large family and work 6 jobs between two people. We found out the inverter was out after they ran a diagnostic which I find it hard to believe they wouldn't do that as a courtesy to customers to avoid situations like this. It took three weeks for them to come out and replace it and when they did, it took two days for it to get up and running. Finally on 8/19 we started to see solar production after a month and a half. I called and left a message this weekend and of course no phone call back especially when I spoke with a rep that Friday before and she advise she would call me Back and never did. I'm not letting this go. The customer service is atrocious and they will literally wine and dine you to get the panels and after you sign the contract, you don't exist. 8/20 Update. Husband and I spoke with Danielle. She listened and was very kind and we do appreciate her service. We now have full access to the App so Incase something goes wrong with the panels we will be notified. The owner agreed to a fair refund and we truly appreciate it! This is true customer service. I would love to give SunSolar zero stars, but yelp won't allow it. This company quoted my house at twice the price of the other two quotes I had after them (over $100k). They also attempted to sell a system that was way larger than the other two companies spec'ed. Like nearly twice the size a house of my size in my area needs for 100% offset. To make matters worse, their salespeople do not respect "No Soliciting" signs and ring our doorbell sometimes multiple times a week. I commented on their Facebook page about respecting homeowners writes and they deleted my comment and blocked me from commenting on the whole page. In other words, they delete any negative comments, giving the public a false image of their company. This is a very unethical company that you should avoid at all cost. read more

We started with them after getting 4-5 quotes from various different places. We didn't feel comfortable wirh any of them. They have kept in touch with us through the whole process. We didn't get The 30 day install but it rained a ton so it wasn't an issue for us. Also it was because of waiting on permits so totally not their fault. The install team was awesome. They made this process very easy! We liked them so much we put a sign in our front yard and we are usually not those people. read more

I know how rediculous this sounds but I am not exaggerating...This company showed up to my house with 30+ people and a camera crew standing in my front yard, (you literally can't make this stuff up) when we opened the door they all started cheering. Seriously at least 30 people...We asked what was going on and they told us that we had been chosen for a free solar setup. After they left we were skeptical so we went on Facebook and found a video of us that they had posted where they also talked about using the footage for some door 2 door sales training video. All without our permission. They were going around the entire neighborhood telling all my neighbors that they won. Needless to say it was a complete scam. The picture from my camera only shows a few people but I'm not kidding there were 30 people there recording us on their phones and a camera crew with several professional cameras pointed at us recording. I have never seen sales tactics like this but they took video of my newborn son for their sales videos and I'm ticked off. Reporting them to the BBB. It's been a touch and go with this company since the beginning! We were referred by a friend, Micheal O'Donnell was our rep and he was training someone as well. We felt like since the start we felt rushed into something without given the time to review it all. They messed up the loan and had to resubmit which took a few extra days! The process to install took forever it seemed like and literally wasn't turned on until the very day the new loan payment was due, which to me seemed ridiculous and was even told when I called them that they had taken longer then usual to install and that they would note in the account to have it reviewed and compensation given. I have yet to hear from them. They get you signed up and you basically never hear from them again. We were also told they were going to date everything for install for last year so we could claim the tax credit and nothing has been given to us either in regards to that.. We have only had our solar turned on for a week now and we had our electrical box and all redone by them. However now our automatic sprinkler system is not working, which it was before they installed. I called to inform them and they ofcourse blamed Titan, who does the install and was going to reach out to them. They however said it would cost me $150 service fee!! Are you kidding me for something you did!!! I will now not recommend them to anyone I know!! Its impossible to get anyone to return your phone call as well! read more

Yelp: RE: Dispute with Sunsolar Solutions (Sunrun) We are very disappointed in Sunsolar Solutions and Sunrun. We have had numerous problems. Our solar unit has stopped working on several occasions, and they have taken several months to repair it. In the meantime, we have had huge bills from APS and still had to pay for the rental of the solar unit. We had to fight with them to get them to pay APS's bills. We even had to stop payment on the solar unit to get them to do anything. In December, we had a leak which a roofing contractor determined to be caused by the installation of the solar panels. We called Sunrun and they sent someone out to examine the situation on January 14, several weeks after we called. They determined that the leak was caused by the solar installation and attempted to fix it. He then sent out a repairman to repair the ceiling in our house where the leak came through. The ceiling repairman came out on February 21, 5 weeks later, and repaired the ceiling. It was a terrible job! Within 2-3 days, it rained and our ceiling that was repaired was leaking worse than ever. You could actually hear the dripping of the water. The repair now was bubbling and completely wet, and a huge stain still remains there today. We called them and they scheduled someone to come out again on March 17. Another month had gone by! We waited all day and they never showed up. We called again. This time Sunsolar said they were not going to cover the repair but they would take the panels off the roof. We disagreed with her because we were already told twice that Sunsolar caused the problem. She said she would send an independent roofer to evaluate the problem. He was to come on April 10. But Titan Solar came out on April 8, took off the panels, and said they would be replacing the whole side of the roof where the panels were. So we thought they again decided to fix the roof. Not so! The independent roofer showed up to our surprise on April 10 as scheduled. He said it was hard for him to give an evaluation because the panels had been taken off and debris and broken tile were everywhere. No one has been on our roof except Sunsolar or whoever they sent. On Monday, April 13, we called Tammy at Sunsolar Solutions. She did not like the evaluation that the roofer gave, so she was sending out another contractor that afternoon. She also said that she would be getting this evaluation by the next morning, and she would give us a call that day, which was Tuesday. That never happened. We called on Thursday and she still had not done anything about it. She said she would get with it tomorrow. The next day we waited for her call. By 4PM we had not heard from her, so we called her, and she said she was denying the claim. She had no authority to do anything about it. I asked her to have someone in management call me. They did call me. However, they did review the case and felt that the solar panels had not caused the leak. QUESTION: Why did they remove the panels if they were not going to fix it? And why were they willing to take responsibility at the beginning when they thought it was a small job, and then refuse when they saw that it was a bigger job? We had 2 different people who said that Sunsolar was going to take care of it. Titan Solar was one of those who said that they would take care of it, and they were sent by Sunsolar!! This review is for the process of setting up a system with SunSolar. I can't speak for the quality of the panels or the power output just yet. The technicians that have been at our home have all been respectful and competent as best as I can tell. We signed our contract in mid April 2021. The office staff moved reasonably quickly through the first few steps. Our Project manager Chris seemed to have a handle on timing. I think SunSolar probably does great as long as there are no hiccups. Our job had a design revision, a missed install day due to a labor shortage, a failed SunSolar installed switch and a failed city inspection. We are 2 weeks away from making our loan payment on the system that has not generated 1 watt to offset it's cost. We are 4 months post contract, 1 month post installation with no output and no clue as to when that will happen. If your project is vanilla and everything goes as planned, you'll be good. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would, this is the absolute worst company that I have worked with in some time. I had my system installed over a year ago, and it actually costs me MORE for electricity now then when I was just paying my monthly APS bill! Why? First, I believe it is because my system was not designed for the amount of power I need. They designed it to sell me on a system that I could afford, NOT on a system that would provide me the energy savings they promised! Since the very first month, I have had issues, and I have called, and I have been patient, and I have waited for the "cycle" to complete so I would "see" the savings that my system was promised to provide. It falls FAR SHORT! I have talked to Customer Service Managers, I have written Emails to the Co-Owner, who was actually the one who came to my house and sold me this system. Neither of them have bothered to get back to me! The only time I get anyone from this company to respond is when I call and sit on hold for them. When you make them aware of an issue, the only thing they do is hide behind a "system check" that is done from their office as they rely on APS data. I've called several times and NOBODY from this company has ever come back to my house to check on this system, to properly handle my claim of consistently high APS bills since the initial install. They will blame APS, and they will blame me the customer. Nobody ever comes out to confirm the system operation, or design! Finally, they have told me time and again that they are just a middle-man. I now have a huge problem of pigeons on my roof. It's like they opened up a hotel for them, with the large community bathroom being all over my property. It's not funny when you can't enjoy your property, and it's not going to be funny when these panels (which I leased), or my roof are damaged. When I called to tell them about this, their answer was that it was not in the contract! It's my responsibility, and they want nothing to do with fixing this issue, that was not there before they put their panels on my roof! The best they can do is offer a quote of over $700 for yet another company to come out and put netting, but that does not mean the birds will be gotten rid of. It does not solve the problem, and it certainly is not something I can afford, as these panels have cost me more than if I just had APS Alone! DO NOT do business with this company!! They are not big enough to handle any of the issues that can come up, and you will be frustrated beyond belief when they leave and you are left with an under-performing system that will suck you dry!! read more

My husband and I met with Sunsolar Solutions along with a few other solar companies back in March of this year. The solar rep we met with was very thorough in his presentation on how solar works with our utility company APS. The rep showed us a few different system sizes and what each one meant in regards to the amount of solar energy the systems would produce and what that meant in for our remaining APS bill. My husband is the techi nerd guy in the family so this definitely intrigued him, especially considering that this was not explained to us with some of the other solar companies we met with. Their approach from the very beginning was a no-pressure approach and they do their own installs, which was an important decision making factor for the both of us. When we decided to move forward with Sunsolar Solutions the very next day I was contacted by a customer service representative who introduced themselves as our dedicated project specialist and from that point on the rep kept in touch with us every step of he way. I was VERY IMPRESSED by this process coming from a customer service background. Other than a few broken tiles which they said would happen and that they would be replaced, and have been for that matter, we are very happy with our decision and would highly recommend meeting with this company if you are interested in solar. I purchased my solar system from SunSolar in Feb 26,2019 after months of delay based on incorrect drawings and permitting issues. I am still fighting with them about the installation and the leaks my new home (2 years old) now has due to how their installer Titan completed the work. They first said it was caused by the original build. They changed after that and said it was a vent. They have been told by a contractor they hired it was a bad patch of the felt after missing the truss when installing. They want to pass the buck and not take responsibility. Overpromised, underdelivered, under-whelmed so far: - We were told when signing up that our solar would take 6-8wk from start to finish. Our deposit was submitted on July 8th and solar finally turned on October 23rd. In my opinion it only happened "this quickly" because my husband was calling almost every day to try and set up city/APS/solar inspections/visits. If he hadn't stayed on top of them it probably would have been another couple of weeks. - The panels were actually on our roof Sept 3rd but due to the company not having arranged timely inspections/permitting it wasnt turned on for an additional 5 weeks - Customer service significantly declined once we paid. As stated above my husband has had to call and email regularly and it often took multiple days to even hear back from the company and set up the next steps to try and maintain the original timeline that we were told (which was not even close to actual timeframe). - The reps were professional and polite despite not being very proactive - Almost 1 week into use and the app to track the production doesn't work - Our system is yet to produce what we were told it would by almost 1/3 *All in all we are happy we did solar, both for the environment and hoping to see benefits on future electric bills, but next time would likely shop around as can probably find better and more timely customer service. - Hoping the system turns out to be what was promised and will update the review if it does 11/1/20 Update: Val- It would have been nice to have received a "timeline" that showed 120 days but unfortunately we never did so maintained the expectation of the 6-8weeks that we were told when signing up. Our app to track solar production has yet to function consistently or for even a full day in a row. My husband has called multiple times and been told "everything seems to be working" or "you just need to give it 24hours". We ended up going with a different company at first. Rob still reached out to us and just asked that we give him a chance. My wife and I are so glad that we did. On top of all of that, I truly mean this too, Rob made us feel so comfortable with the choice we were making by going with SunSolar Solutions. I received a quote from Michael O'Donnell the owner. He was very very persuasive he had promised me I was going to only receive a bill from APS just taxes only. And I would receive a bill from Sun Run for $190. Turns out after I received a lease and he welshed on his deal after he had told me if my solar wasn't producing enough they would add more power panels due to their warranty. No his staff is being very ignorant and rude to me and he has not responded back to resolve this issue. I have all the text messages and emails from him stating the same exact thing I would have to wait a year and I would start seeing my savings I have not seen much in my savings. I was told by his death if I wanted to save more that would be addition of cost. Why would I pay additional cost if this was taken care of in the first place. I will go out of my way and I will stand in front of your company and I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I will notify everyone I can how he handles business. I was strongly suggest him to give me a call and make this right or I will take all my emails and text messages and persecute him in court. And I have the power to do this as I have all the evidence from his text messages and email. The installers came in OK also we're running up and down my roof and they were going to say that they can make it into my pool. And they were going to make bets on if they could make it or not. This is another liability as a homeowner especially if somebody was to actually do it and harmed ourselves. They also damage some of my roof which was taken care of by Michael Donnell. However they were tearing everything up on my roof. Horrible service great salesmen though we had Michael O'Donnell and another salesmen stop buy provide a proposal. I was in the market for solar at the time and had a few other vendors send proposals as well. Went with Sunsolar because salesmen was good and also liked the method of installation used all the rest is similar or identical to other solar companies used. Ironed out all the details and signed a contract, solar was up and installed in no time. However inverter was backordered for months due to supply chain. I understood however loan was in place and I was already paying for system I couldn't use, played the game of you pay the loan we cut you a check. Inverter came in and was installed and I was on my way to saving money with my new system. Or so I thought system was finally online in Jan 2022 but has not been functioning correctly since installation. Inverter installed was defective so I have been paying my solar bill and full blown energy bill to APS every month. I reached out once mid-March because my APS bill seemed rather high customer service stated all was well, reached out again when my APS bill got to 350 a few months later in June. Only to have them confirm inverter was indeed bad, not producing energy or communicating back to them of the issue. System is supposed to alert them of any issue with system so we can be made aware and schedule repair, not the case here. They were only notified of this issue when I called the 2nd time, scheduled service got a replacement inverter installed however system I am told it's working but will my app is still showing 0 power production. This issue was supposed to get fixed last week still not working but the biggest kicker is they are dragging their feet on reimbursement. I find it sad and pathetic that a company with the ability to analyze how much power and money you can save to make the sale can act so dumb with it takes them to analyze what they owe you in reimbursement. Mind you I am paying over $500 monthly now between my solar contract and APS, their customer service stinks. I blame both salesmen Michael O'Donnell and rest of Sunsolar team, typical salesmen in the wind once the contract is signed absolutely no help when I reached out to him directly kind of a "not my department response". If you work for a company that clearly sucks at post sale customer service and you work so hard to sell a lie just to get the sale then I am sorry I ever considered Sunsolar. This is a 55k investment going badly and just want the rest of the people considering Sunsolar to have some real transparency as to what to expect from this company. read more

I am revising a review I had posted a few days ago about my experience with SunSolar Solutions. I was frustrated at the time but let me assure you that ALL my worries and needs were taken care of. The following day after posting my review Eric had reached out to us and assured us that he would get right on top of our issues. We had met Eric a few months back and had sold us the system. Usually from experience once a product is sold you hardly hear from the sales rep. Not Eric, he truly takes pride in his work and cares about his customers as if they were family. Eric was able to coordinate with the office and got a technician out that same day. Even though he was booked for the day and had to drive out from Douglas he showed up with a great attitude and did not mind staying until he got my system back on line. I have had my panels since June 2018, my aps bills have increased and with the extra payment of the solar lease I have paid almost $200 more a month. I was told when I first called in the fall that we had to wait another month to see savings and this has been the excuse ever since. Latest reason is I should receive money back in Jan 2019 for the energy I produced instead I got another large bill from APS. When panels were installed they damaged my roof. When they came to fix it they just showed up at my house well I was at work and need someone there ASAP after repeatly telling them I need notice of when someone is coming. Also, it turns out everything the salesman told me was a lie and now I'm stuck in a 20year lease paying more for absolutely nothing! read more

After posting this review the owner of the company (Val) contacted me personally. He worked with my wife and I to correct the mistakes made the best he could. I don't know about you, but for me it means a lot when someone steps up and does the right thing. As you can see from my review, I was not a happy camper and Val could have avoided me completely, he didn't. He specifically addressed the changes he's implemented in his company to avoid experiences like mine. The solar industry as a whole has some issues in my opinion. Val and his team seem to have learned from the experience and used it to improve rather than continue on, business as usual. At this point I have not one good thing to say about SunSolar from the salesman to the installers to the installation scheduler, project manager, and customer service. I rescheduled the install date as I would not be home. Instead of coming on the new install date they came on the first date. Imagine my shock when I got the email saying they were already installed. After numerous phone calls, this is what I have learned. We don't know who did the reschedule but they should not have as they can't. Hmmmmmm that was the only phone number that I was given. No one has any answers for me. I have also discovered that they put one section of panels on the opposite side that was requested. It gets less sun where it was installed. I now have to do several things. Have a roofer in to see if they covered up the location that my Tube Light needs to be installed. (they have said they can pull a panel and patch the roof. This is a new $10,000 roof that I do NOT want patched. I feel the need to put up a cement wall and security gates as well as an alarm system since I do not know what took place when I was not here. Once those bids are in, I have to consult with a lawyer. I am glad I have read the other reviews and see I am not the only one having problems. Wonder if I can get in touch with them and we can go as a group to consult with someone about our options. read more

The sales guy promised us $500.00 check on the day of installation when in fact it is really sent to us weeks later. I called numerous times and they kept telling me that the checks were being mailed on Fridays. I kept waiting and then calling again. I must have made 4 different calls and they finally said all the checks were being mailed out on Friday and I had the guarantee of certain individual. This time it actually was sent to us. Happy I got the money but disappointed that the sales guys said the check would be upon installation. Otherwise, I highly recommend this company. They were professional. I did my research and interviewed a few companies in the area before choosing Sunsolar Solutions and I am so glad I did. They have been nothing but helpful throughout the process. The main reason I am writing this review though is the customer service. It is WAY BEYOND what you would expect. Solar takes a few to several months from the sign of contract to actually be installed and turned on because it requires approval through the city and then there are several inspections that need to happen by both the energy company and the city. However, Sunsolar Solutions gives you a point of contact in house so you can reach out with any questions or concerns, and they are quick to answer the phone or respond via text. I had a situation happen where there was a mistake made during installation and a metal vent was damaged. They took FULL responsibility for this and replaced the vent and repaired the damage from the broken vent ASAP. This company has some serious integrity and I would tell anyone looking for solar to look here. It is one thing to look good when the job has no hiccups but when it does, and the response is we will take care of it and they actually do...that is a great company! My solar job is now complete and I can say it has been an overall really positive experience and I would definitely recommend them 100%. read more

It is not possible to rate SunSolar Solutions with a star for they are not worthy of anything positive. We signed a lease agreement with these jokers on January 6th 2018 being advised by TJ Dinbokowitz, Salesman that our panels should be installed in 90 days as advertised in their brochure. Panels put on July 23rd after many excruciating phone calls & reasons for ongoing delays. It is September 24th & we have had nothing but one excuse after another as to why Sun Power's inverter boxes continue to show malfunctions & how SunSolar can't do a thing about it. A flyer was mailed around our neighborhood with our address on it as if we are a satisfied customer. Please be aware we are anything but happy & would not recommend this company to anyone. We are an older couple on Social Security & we were foolish to sign a lease with these people. This is the first time in our 48 years of married life that we feel we have been thoroughly scammed by SunSolar, SunRun & SunPower. We are looking into legal resolution due to non-performance issues. There was a multi month delay on the actual install (which would be fine except now my system got installed during the hottest months in Phoenix and I didn't have any credits saved up so I still have to pay APS). Initially the system wasn't making as much power as I needed. Then once the rainy season started my hallway upgraded itself to an indoor "waterfall". The worst part about all this is I'm still paying for APS, and I'm still being charged monthly by sunpower even though half my solar panels have been removed. The only reason this isn't a one star review is because the customer care from SUNSOLAR has been top notch, specifically from Danielle at this branch who has been very attentive and followed up constantly with updates regarding the repairs to the roof. I'm just disappointed that since the install I still have an APS bill due to all the hiccups. read more

Sun Solar was a great company to choose and work with when getting our solar panels. They are easy to talk to, help you understand everything, and keep you updated throughout the whole process. I definitely appreciate how quickly the panels were installed and how much they worked with our HOA and the City to expidite the finally steps of getting the panels fully operational. I would recommend this company 10 fold and will always do so! read more

After interviewing several companies we decided on Sun Solar Solutions. Derrick was very friendly and knowledgable. We were told we qualify for the "fast tract" to get install in 30 days. If they didnt meet the install date by Dec 31st they would pay us the difference we would miss in the tax incentive. During our comparison between companies, we were told that Sun Solar is experienced with what is required to pass the City inspection which makes them better than other companies. We signed early Dec 2019. They didnt install the panels until early Jan. Found out the plans didnt pass City inspection and they had to make a change. I was never told what the change was and when I contacted company, was told nothing to worry about, "Happens all the time". During install they ended up making a change from the plans. Was told they would have to resubmit plans for city approval. After several weeks of not hearing anything, a few Solar Solution work men showed up. Was told they needed to put some pipe brackets on roof. I called SSS and they had no record of anyone scheduled to come to our house. SSS said they would investigate and get back to me. Never received any phone call back. But they did say they are still waiting on approval for plans. Finally after another month went by and the only answer from SSS was they are waiting on the City, I called the City myself. Found out my plan was rejected again for the 2nd time. I called SSS and spoke to Tammy, she was surprised to find out that I had called city and heard it was denied again. She said she would get right on it and let me know. Several days later, no word from SSS, I expressed my displeasure that it is now March and I still dont have functioning solar panels. She apologized and said she notified her team and someone should have called me. I said no one is calling, no one is letting me know what the issues are and I am missing out on storing up my electric credit. I was so upset. Not sure if this ever passes the city that it will even work. At this point, I would not recommend this company. Alot of promises but no results. It's a mess. read more
