Rude, incompetent. and dishonest. They delivered a golf cart with horrible front end alignment. I see from another review, I wasn't the first. They were rude to me and told me I had obviously hit something to knock it out of alignment. They wanted me to pay for the repairs and to replace the front tires which were completely worn down and unsafe after only 400 miles! Avoid!! Rude, dishonest and incompetent. I signed a contract for delivery and rental while showing at WEC. An employee tried to pick up the cart early and when I told him I needed it through Sunday he said to leave it at the General Store. When I attempted to do this I was informed by a WEC employee that outside rentals are no allowed (I was told by Sunshine that they are) and that it would be towed. This put me in a bind since Sunshine was closed and I couldn't talk to anyone. I left the cart at the barn and when they picked it up I received a nasty phone call from the owner saying that the cart was returned "in the worst condition he's ever seen" and that the cart was covered in mud. This is nonsense. The cart paths at WEC are either concrete or they are sand. It never rained while we were there and there WAS NO MUD ANYWHERE TO DRIVE THROUGH. Bought cart 06/20022 Didn't see the problem with the cart until it was delivered. Front wheels pointing outward. Drove cart around neighborhood 3 4 miles. About a mile or less the steering started to feel lose, slowly the cart would pull to the right then to the left. Metal on metal on metal clonking sounds started, Towards the end of the drive I heard what sounded like something fell off. I stopped, looked around saw nothing. Cart picked up to have back seat added. There associate called prior to confirm. Told both, both said it'll be looked at & taken care of. When cart delivered backseat looked nice, cleaned up well. However I pointed out to delivery associate, wheels still toed out. He said he didn't know, test drove ok. We can pick it up have mechanics check it. Cart drove worse. Especially full speed. Went to store, waited to talk with Tom. Explained the problem. He check, found no record. Soonest can pick up was Wednesday because of 4July Monday. Picked up Wednesday. Delivered Friday same problem, wheels Toed out. Driver said it can be sent to Dunnellon. I cart to neighborhood mechanic, as I did cart started shaking & drifting, slowed down. Cart rode better so I sped up slowly. Was riding fine when it launch to the right. Thankfully I had quick reaction other wise I would've hit a mail box before going into a ditch, seriously getting hurt. So long story short.I got tired of there incompetence & or deceit. I screwed up thinking they wouldn't take the carat back because I added the backseat. But I never asked or demand they pick there crap up. My bad, The cart should not have been sold that way or they should have disclosed there were no bushing & other missing part. The owner said "I was never going to get hurt, never gonna get killed. You wanna see hurt (he hit his prosthetic leg". William is rude, manipulative, evasive saying money doesn't mean anything, I'd spend a $1000 to fix Then why didn't you? Tom & Sam are his puppets. I purchased my second new cart from another dealer in the Villages back in mid September 2022. I had a major repair issue and the dealer in the Villages charged me $75.00 to pick up and deliver my new $14k cart. When my cart arrived after the repair the new cart didn't have any brakes period. I called the dealer and he was going to charge me another $75.00 to pick up and deliver my cart that was less than 2 months old and still under warranty. I walked into Sunshine State Golf Carts on Hwy 200, which is 3 blocks away from my house, we live in On Top Of The World. I was greeted by William Smith who was very nice. I explained my situation and he had me call Star in South Carolina and explain what has happened to the warranty department. Shannon was very pleasant and she told me that she would contact Mr. Smith immediately. She said that I wasn't supposed to be charged any money in the first 90 of ownership for pick up and delivery which Mr. Smith had explained also. Shannon authorized SSGC to pick up and deliver my cart and do any repairs necessary. Mr. Smith offered to loan me a golf cart while mine was being repaired. Mr. Smith sent the technician to my house to see if the brake problem was a "simple fix." He picked the cart up on Monday morning and returned it on Tuesday afternoon. Fixed, done, no problems. Happy customer. The odd part of this story is that the steering was not working properly when I sent it back to the dealer in the Villages. When the cart was returned to me I had no brakes. The dealer in the Villages had Star warranty pay them for a brake issue which wasn't a problem in the beginning. Even though I didn't buy the new cart from SSGC, Mr. Smith has gone above and beyond to help me and earn my trust. My uncle lives in On Top Of The World as well. He purchased in new 2022 Star Sirius golf cart from Mr. Smith as well. Sunshine State Golf Carts is located on Hwy 200, next door to Publix near ON Top Of The World. 352-355-3254.
