Both my boys attended Sunshine school from age 1-4. We love Sunshine school! My youngest just graduated from Sunshine this past summer. He was at the Vinci Park location with Mrs. Emily. She, along with the other teachers there are all very caring and kind. Mrs. Emily is the head teacher at Vinci Park. She is very attentive and willing to speak to me via text or phone at any time when I had questions or concerns. The students learn to sing English and Chinese songs, they do various arts and crafts, and their activities are diverse and fun. My son enjoyed going to school every single day! My son has been at sunshine school since 8 months to 4 years old. Overall experience was very good as he was mostly very happy and healthy, and academically learned what I had expected. Last year he was at the Vinci Park campus where he is in the orange class. The staff at this campus are super loving, caring and friendly. My son was able to quickly adapt and love the teacher here, and he is especially fond of Ms. Huang and Ms. Emily. At one point he refused the idea of going to a school without Ms. Huang lol... One of the reason we picked this school was that I wanted my son to speak mandarin in early childhood. Most of the teachers here are native mandarin speaking, and this is a bi-lingual school. So if you are looking for mandarin immersion experience for your kids, this is a great choice! My son so far is a fluent mandarin speaker and he speaks some basic English too -- I am sure he will pick up that very fast later. My son learned letters, numbers, and some basic Chinese characters read and write by age 4. I am not academic focused and I am very happy with the progress. The school has plenty of outdoor time, and artwork time -- every day my son brings home a piece of work he made at school which is really nice. Last but not the least, the staff are super flexible and supportive of working parents. My drop off and pick up hours are based on my work meeting schedule, and they were always understanding and supportive. One time we went on international travel and after we got back, my son was jet lagged and super moody when I drop him off, Ms Emily gave us a few minutes to work it out, and told me if you need to go, we got it. If you like to spend more time to calm him down, feel free to do so. She checked with us multiple times to check my son was ok as well as I was ok with the delayed drop off. My two kids are in Sunshine [Montesori] for almost two years (almost two years for my daughter, one year for my little son). The teachers at Sunshine are full of love towards children. They host two meals, having noon nap time, and also two academic sessions everyday [art and science, since my kids bring two pieces of homeworks] They learned a lot everyday and I can see their progress and independence getting better and better. We planed a travel during Dec. for a whole week and so my kid won't attend the school for the week, so I sent an email to adjust the tuition from 3 weeks to 2 weeks. but I was told "If you're planning not to come for 4 weeks or more, you can sign a Temporary Withdrawal Form to skip the tuition for the whole month. But if only one week, the December tuition can not be changed" And if you submitted many extracurricular classes and your kid does not like one of them and wanna drop, you won't get a refund for the rest of the classes and you don't have the option to switch the class either. Does it make sense to you? My kid got hurt on this campus in the 1st month, she just tripped during the outdoor activity, and about a 3-inch scar was left on her leg(this is the most severe hurt my 4-yr old ever got) read more

My daughter spent two years at Sunshine preschool (Vinci Park Campus). She was now successfully graduated and moved to TK. The transition was great! We chose Sunshine not only because it's close to our home, but also for its diligent ways of caring and teaching the little ones. All the teaches here are very nice and helpful. The curriculum is also very educational and reasonable for little ones to grow and learn new skills. The campus is located in Vinci Park elementary school, which provides a safety environment to stay and also plenty playgrounds for the kids to play. I have been part of the Sunshine family for 9 years and counting. My three boys started their journey the summer before Kindergarten. My two older boys attended after school all through elementary school and all summers up until entering 8th grade. My middle still attends in the summer and my youngest is now attending after school and summer. They have all taken Sunshine transportation services. I have never had to worry about my children being picked up timely from school and transported to Sunshine. My older boys had 1/2 day Kindergarten so Sunshine would feed them lunch and snack. Their first year, they spent more time at Sunshine than they did at Elementary School. Sunshine has them complete their homework every day so that when they come home from Sunshine, I don't have to worry about it. It has set the foundation that during distance learning, my older boys worked independently without me micromanaging them. Also, when they reached middle school and I no longer used the after school program, the years at Sunshine has built the foundation that they know to come home right after school and do their homework without any prompting from me. Sunshine also has them do workbooks in reading and math one school year ahead. This has built the foundation that now my oldest son is able to take Year 2 High School math at high school as an incoming freshman so he can start Freshman year in Year 3 math. It is a 22 day program and he's exceeding and I believe it's the years he spent at Sunshine that prepared him for this. For the summer program, the field trips are so much fun. I have referred many family and friends to Sunshine over the years for either after school and summer programs. They also offer free Mandarin classes. My youngest has thrived on this and speaks so well with the accent. This has been the best investment for my children. The Sunshine staff is very professional, friendly and helpful. I remain good friends with the office staff and many of the teachers even after they have left Sunshine to pursue their careers in other fields. read more

The teacher student ratio was terrific (around 1:4) and teachers were super caring. They knew every kid really well, and cared about their health, habits, and safety. When the weather got cool, the teachers suggested me to put more clothes on the kid; when my daughter's language development fell a little behind, they suggested to consult my Pediatrician; and when she finally started talking like other kids, they cheered just like family members. I'm really grateful that we were so lucky to have met these awesome teachers. Moreover, they provide meals at school, making parenting a lot easier for every morning. And they taught beautiful songs in both Mandarin and English. Great for kids to get familiar with different languages, and with traditional culture. I have been sending my child to sunshine for the past 4 years and I have always been happy with the care my child received. My child has made many friends at Sunshine and is happy to be a student there. The teachers are wonderful, the program is engaging, and the office staff is always helpful. This school is a a lifesaver for working parents. The teachers are engaged and work diligently to ensure my child has a fun and enriching experience. They communicate well with parents and have a strong relationship with the kids in their class. There is little turnover with the teachers so it is nice to always see a familiar face. During the school year my child completes his homework in the after school program, and in the summer he is challenged with workbooks to ensure he is academically prepared for the next school year. Sunshine offers extra curriculars during the school year and themed camps during the summer. My child is very happy with the camps and classes he participates in. They are reasonably priced, comparable to similar programs in the area. The director and office staff are very responsive and addresses all questions in a timely manner. I am always impressed with the kindness and respect they show the families and children in the program. The office staff also send out a weekly newsletter filled with information to keep parents updated about the program. What I value most about Sunshine how accommodating they are to working parents in the area. I was enrolled at Sunshine School for 7th and 8th grade from 2012-2013. The after school location is located at Ruskin Elementary School. It was a short walk from Sierramont Middle School (where I went to school). Students would meet up with a Sunshine teacher at a designated spot, so we would walk together. It's a very convenient location for families living in the Berryessa neighborhood. I went to Northwood Elementary School, so when I went to Sierramont, I didn't know many people. My Northwood friends went to Morrill Middle School. Most Sierramont students were from Ruskin Elementary School. Sunshine gave me the opportunity to make friends that I eventually spent time with at Sierramont and outside of school. Today, I still keep in touch with the friends I made at Sunshine, and I hope to continue doing so. read more

This is a great daycare for kids. My daughter went here for close to 4 years and my son has been going for about 2 years. They started at the Halgrim location and then moved up to the Sierra location, and both teachers have been wonderful! I'm not one of those parents that has the patience to teach ABC's and numbers and colors to my kids at home because I am just not good with kids. But this school did a good job preparing her for elementary school. She learned numbers, letters, how to cut and paste, body parts, opposites and all kinds of stuff from this school. The teachers take the time to build an actual rapport with your child and they do an amazing job at teaching kids academically, as well as good behavior such as washing hands, sharing, being nice, ect. I went to this place for years they fired and hired the worst ppl, David this blonde guy I hated him he's so rude and overreactive, Tim he was so sweet and got fired for being so sweet, the employees ways react over small things, they had some fun activities, helped you on your hw, summer was fun but I hated doing those math books, they had fun field trips in the summer, I'm glad to hear they let go David. The summer was the best time I really enjoyed it the Swim classes , movies , food , field trips. Our son has been at Sunshine School for 4 years and is just finishing the Summer program in Sunshine "After" School. He will be attending Kindergarten and going to Sunshine "After" School as well. If Summer program is any indication, I anticipate he will be learning and enjoying each moment. The change from a shy and reserved boy to a social, exploring, and happy individual is a pleasant surprise to me. I pick up my niece and nephew from here sometimes and they just LOVE the program. I am constantly amazed about all their activities regarding academics and sports. These kids are learning new things everyday from their extra curricular activities as well as all the friends they made at Sunshine. My niece is taking Clay Art, Western Drawing, and dance classes. My nephew is taking soccer, marshall arts (in the summer), and Western drawing. They both also attend in the summer, and have even more fun with the field trips and swimming classes. My son has been in Sunshine pre-school since he was one and half year old. By now he has been there for seven months. So far everything has been good. He is very happy in the school. When I drop him off in the morning, he can immediately get into the environment and start to play. The teachers there have been very friendly. If your kids need special cares for food, drink, etc., just tell them and they will try to accommodate.
