Our daughter has been attending Elan Preschool for about three months now, and we've had such a wonderful experience. The teachers and directors are truly fantastic and consistently go above and beyond for the kids and families. I'll admit, I went back and forth for a while about whether my child really needed to attend a childcare program. But once we found Elan, that uncertainty completely went away. I feel so good about what she's learning and the care and attention the staff provides every day. What really stands out is how intentional they are. The teachers lead from strong principles, handle situations thoughtfully, and create such a positive learning environment. There are always engaging activities happening that keep the kids curious and excited. They also keep me well updated. I get photos daily, updates when she eat and what she eats, things I was never expecting. Another big highlight is the outdoor playground -- it's massive, safe, and gives the kids plenty of room to run, explore, and just be kids. They have special events and activities that add tremendous value to the program. Things range from puppet shows to animal appearances and so much more. It's worth the spend. Holidays are also fun to see them celebrate, including a Christmas performance at the end of the year. We feel incredibly lucky to have found Elan for our daughter. One of the most delightful things about this daycare is how much fun they bring into the kids' lives. The variety of vendors and special activities that come through makes me wish I could be a kid there myself! From music classes to petting zoos and magicians, there always seems to be something exciting happening. The open layout is another thing we really appreciate. It creates a sense of one big family, with kids eating and playing together. My little one gets to observe and learn from the older children, which has been wonderful for her development and for building friendships across age groups. The teachers are fantastic. Each one has their own unique personality, giving the kids a variety of role models. They're attentive about guiding behavior in a positive way and are extremely responsive to parents. We also receive plenty of photos and updates throughout the day, which makes it easy to stay connected to what our child is experiencing. The facilities are clean, colorful, and very well organized. Classrooms and bathrooms are always tidy, and the playground is impressively large with several structures and play areas. The rubberized surface and particles under the climbing structures gives me peace of mind while my little "professional climber" explores. Overall, I'm very happy we found Elan. It's also located right next to the Milpitas Library, which we often stop by after pickup. As a first-time mom, finding childcare after moving to a different area across town made me a bit nervous, especially transitioning my 2year-old from a small daycare with only six kids to a larger center. I spent weeks researching and touring schools, and Elan Preschool was actually one of the last places I found. I'm so glad I came across it on Yelp! From the first phone call with Director Elizabeth to my son's first week, I could tell the teachers knew every student, which was incredibly reassuring. Their flexible schedule means my son is well known by both morning and late afternoon teachers. Nap time was a worry since he needed his blankie typically, so the staff gladly allowed it, and within weeks he no longer needed it. He's even known as one of the first to nap--impressive because toddlers usually have serious FOMO! He has been attending 7 months and his speech, pronunciation, and social skills has improved dramatically. His teacher Ms. Jenelyn has amazing energy, so kind and attentive especially during one on one time. The preschool has many cute handwashing stations and potty areas at the right height. A perfectly sized playground, and fun extras like puppet shows and music classes. Daily photos and videos via the app are such a comfort as well. Elan is our son's home away from home. I feel happy knowing that I can leave my son somewhere that feels safe, where the teachers really care, and I get updates throughout the day- without me even having to ask. We brought our older son to Elan (he is now 8 years old) as well and had a great experience. We were referred to Elan from 2 of my best friends who also took their kids to Elan. One of my best friends is an elementary school teacher, so I knew to believe her when she said that the teachers were amazing! Both of my boys fell in love with their amazing playground!! We truly feel fortunate to have found Elan. After visiting all the preschools in the Milpitas area (including Montessori programs), it was clear that Elan wasn't just the right choice--it was the perfect fit for our little guy. We are fortunate to have found Elan, Right from Ms. Laurie who was running the institution to Miss Elizabeth who now is in charge, it's been a great experience for us. I highly recommend Elan Preschool! My kid has been going here for almost 2.5 years. She was a very shy toddler when she joined but her teachers made her comfortable and now she's much more confident with herself. There has never been a day when she's not excited to go in. Ms. Shawnese has a new activity planned for the kids every day where they get to learn new experiences and explore their creativity. The teaching staff is very friendly and knows all the kids enrolled at the school by name. My kid has bonded with every teacher at the school even if they haven't taught her class. The school is very well-run between the owners and Ms. Elizabeth. They pro-actively deal with any issues we may have and are attentive to every tiny detail of the school. He looks forward to school and in such a short time has learned to write and draw. Where do I even start? I booked a tour at Elan Preschool when my child was about 14 months old. As an elementary school teacher I was blown away by these facts: 1. Elan has been in business for decades. 2. Elan has a tailored curriculum for each individual child. 3. Elan uses an amazing app (Brightwheel) where teachers can share photos/food updates/potty updates for your child, collect tuition fees, send messages directly to you, etc. 4. Elan has extracurricular activities during the week (ABC music and Tuff Tumblers as a gymnastic class) that you can pay for if you'd like extra enrichment for your child. If you don't sign up your child for these, your child will be given extra outdoor time. 5. Elan has a HUGE outdoor area with safe plastic playgrounds. Instead of tanbark for flooring, they cut up big pieces of recycled rubber that can absorb a lot of shock. There are lot of outdoor toys and vehicles to play with. 6. Elan offers DATE NIGHT once a month so you can drop off your child or children until from 5/6 until 9/10 PM! 7. Elan doesn't allow kids to bring food with sugar. They will allow foods that have very minimal sugar. I love this. This might be con for some people, but not for me: *Elan doesn't provide snacks and lunches for your child, but I prefer that because my child is a picky eater. They will heat up food for your child if you wish. Elan had an open spot for my son when he was 26 months old. I was also impressed by these facts: 1. Elan assigns each family a door code, and check-in/check-out codes for each caregiver. 2. I was worried about him starting school and since he doesn't talk much, I would ask the teachers about him every day for about a few weeks after school. They reassured me and I felt so much better about everything. 3. My son didn't cry the first 3 days during drop-off because he didn't know any better. He cried on the 4th and 5th day, but after that, my son has not cried during drop-off. That shows me he really enjoys school. 4. I feel like Elan really helps foster his academic and social skills. 5. I love the monthly calendar which shows the kids' and staff members' birthdays, the dates where they bring in outside vendors like a petting zoo, bubble show, musician, magician, etc. Each month they may ask kids to have bring a show-and-tell item, book, wear a specific outfit, etc. They have water play days, family carnival day, holiday parties, special events, etc. 6. According to their monthly calendar, they also do art, cooking, science, music, dance, etc. There are other preschools closer to us, but I really value Elan for the quality care, attention, fun that it provides for all children and families. I talked to another mom who probably toured 6 or 7 preschools before choosing Elan. We are confident that we really made the best choice for our children! read more

All three of our children have attended Elan Preschool, and we recently celebrated our second graduating as he heads into TK! We first found Elan back in 2020 after switching from another daycare during the height of COVID -- and we've been with them ever since. Their tuition is very reasonable, which initially drew us in, but what made us stay is the incredible quality of care, the thoughtful curriculum, and the amazing outdoor space. The play yard is huge with lots of fun structures, and they've recently added turf and are upgrading the covered lunch area with more shade -- can't wait to see it finished! The staff has a great balance between learning, creativity, and play. Every month is full of hands-on activities like arts and crafts, science experiments, cooking projects, water play, and live shows (music, animals, puppets, bubbles -- you name it!). They also do a great job helping with potty training and building independence for the older kids. Both of our older children started elementary school well ahead of the curve, especially in reading and writing -- and we truly credit Elan for giving them that strong foundation. We also really appreciate how they consistently encourage respectful behavior, kindness, and good discipline. Communication is consistent and easy, both in person and through their app, and the staff always make an effort to share updates and little moments from the day. When it was time for me to find the best school for my 2 children, I went to almost all preschools in the area to meet the teachers, see the facilities, and talk about the teaching approach at every school. After a few days of extensive research Elan Preschool was the number one choice for so many reasons. Mostly because the teachers and directors were so genuinely friendly and loving. The smiles on their faces were very welcoming and the teaching methedology was something I resonated with from the very beginning. On top of everything, when I saw their huge spacious playground with the covered luch area, I immediately knew that both my kids would be spending a lot of their time getting the fresh air, enjoying nature and having fun balancing the ABCs with creativity! They have a set schedule for the day and they try to make good work habits for the child and make them ready for Kinder. My son has been attending Elan Preschool for the last few months and I am so happy we found this school. The whole staff, from the teachers to the admins, are very warm and friendly. My son is on the spectrum and his BT has been able to go to school with him. Our 2 kiddos attended Elan, with the eldest starting in 2019. Now it is bittersweet that our youngest just graduated and is going to kindergarten. Once upon a time, we toured many preschools and Elan was stood out from the rest because from the moment we walked into the building we noticed how warm and welcoming the school was with all the smiling and laughing kiddos. Great sign, right? We liked how the building is one large space so even with separate classes everyone is visible so all the teachers and students know each other. We were very impressed with the ginormous playground which has plenty of space, structures, and activities, perfect for our kiddos to burn off all that energy! Elan's class schedules provide a good balance of learning and play. Each kid has a designated class and teacher, but it felt like all the teachers were my kiddos' teachers because of how they all took the time to know and help all the kiddos. There is also an insane amount of events and shows, which I will try to name but likely am forgetting some: Halloween parade, Diwali celebration, Easter egg hunts, holiday party, science events, petting zoo, animal shows, music shows, magic shows, puppet shows, comedy shows, bubble shows, water slides, bounce houses, other water play, etc. Initially, I expressed my concern that we were having a hard time with potty-training and the Elan director, Ms. Elizabeth, enthusiastically said "no worries, we'll help with that!", and sure enough they did! Whenever I would pick up my kid, I would be accustomed to other kiddos running up to me to say hi and talk to me, or hear "It's (insert my kid's name)'s mom! Bye (insert my kid's name again)!" Elan utilizes an app that allows guardians to check in and out their kids, teachers can post pictures, videos, and notes (ex. what the kids ate, potty schedules), and allows guardians and teachers to message each other. The picture and video posts were the highlights of my day and was a great way to engage my kids to describe their days. Our kiddos have grown up here and both them and also us parents have made many wonderful memories at Elan. Elan preschool is the best thing to have happened to our daughter. As a parent, you want to have the best for your kid. Elan preschool not only offers a strong educational foundation to toddlers but also strengthens their overall personality through numerous activities, play time, music, and gymnastics. We toured four schools (all famous ones in the area) and we would thank our stars to have found Elan preschool. The school celebrates festivals of various nations and it gives a chance to the families and kids to learn about different customs and traditions. We have been sending our girls to this school for the past 4 years so it's about time I leave a review! I can't say enough about how much we love Elan. It is very clear that the teachers care deeply about the kiddos. My oldest daughter (who is now in Kindergarten), started at Elan a few days after turning 2 and went into elementary school knowing how to read thanks to Elan. More importantly, she made so many friends, had so much fun and came home everyday with a big smile on her face. My youngest is still a student at Elan and will cry that she doesn't want to leave and for me to go back home when I come to pick her up. He loves his time there... he made his 1st best buddy there, learnt how to ride on those cute glider bikes with so much confidence, learnt to use his first scissors, write his first letters and many more first memories. I plan on enrolling my daughter here once she turns 2. That says a lot for the school. Ms. Laurie and ms. Elizabeth are the veterans here... they strive so hard each day to take such good care of all the kids. It's unbelievable, the energy they bring to the school. Amazing place that my child went from 2-5. The proof is that him and all his friends always looked forward to going to school, even when they were on vacations! The group of teachers care about their work and love their children. Ms Elizabeth and Ms Laurie have a fantastic academic curriculum installed. Ma Daxa, Ms Candace and team strike a nice balance of discipline and care. My child left well ahead of his school grade. They have a huge play ground, albeit it may not look like that from the outside. They also have started friday night date nights once a month which are fanastic for the parents and kids both. Elan exceeded my expectations. My daughter attended Elan when she was 3 years old and stayed until it was time to leave for Kindergarten. The preschool space is bright and open with a large playground which was one of the important reason for us to choose Elan. All the teachers are loving and truly caring in all ways. Elan Preschool is a wonderful place to get your young kids into the world of schooling. Ms. Laurie and other teachers have been phenomenal in my sons growth. I searched a lot of the area for preschools and Elan fit all our needs. They have a good balance of learning and play. Kids at this age don't need to be bombarded with curriculum. They need to socialize (learn to share, wait turns, play together, etc) and Elan has plenty of opportunities for that. There is a HUGE playground area for kids to run around with plenty of bikes and toys. I also love how they bring outside entertainment like puppet shows, magicians, singers, and bounce houses. The teachers are very caring and good about communicating with me at pick up. Like most kids, my daughter had a hard time transitioning at first. But teachers are experienced and I felt comfortable leaving her in their care. It took a short while until she got used to it. Now she says hi every morning and gives hugs as we leave. If I could give this School 100 stars I would! This is my 2 1/2-year-olds (twins) first preschool experience and they are absolutely wonderful here. The teachers are incredible and understanding, Laurie is just amazing! I have never felt more comfortable with leaving my kids somewhere. My opinion on this school is based on my observations and beliefs of what a preschool should provide. Also, this was what I observed over a year ago when I first researched schools near my work place. Parents should go see for themselves and observe their children in the environment for at least a whole day. Pros: 1. teach kids to read starting at young age 2. Field trips to parks, restaurants... 3. Webcam so parents could see the classroom anytime (but often down). 4. Price is reasonable 5. Have worksheets available in case parents want to bring some home to do with child. Cons: 1. Environment was not happy & affectionate. This is more of a learning institution that foster independence. So, it's a con depending on what you are looking for. 2. Mixed age 2-5 playing in the yard, especially the play structure does not work. The older boys frighten the young kids as they run full speed (which boys naturally do). They should have separate play time. The supervising teachers are sitting correcting papers, not participating or helping the younger children on the swing. They don't get pushed. If they can't swing, that's too bad. 3. Eating area in yard had single tables so kids sit by themselves to eat. The area looks depressing and kind of junky. There are various methods to teach kids how to read; this place uses flashcards and memorization. I know it works for some kids. For a preschool, I would rather choose a warm loving environment, and encourage loving to learn rather than rote learning. read more
