Hands On Learning has been such a blessing! My husband and I took our child on a tour with the program director, Ms. Elis. The process for scheduling, visiting, and later enrolling at the school was so user-friendly. Ms. Elis answered all of our questions in person and later over email in a timely manner. You could tell she really cares for the students and is in-tune with the staff/children. She made a special point to tell us to bring our child on the tour as we could see how they interacted with the space and how they felt around the other students/staff as we were touring while school was in session. All of the staff is very supportive and we get regular updates throughout the day via message and more info at pick up on how the day went. It is also very easy to communicate through their app regarding pick up changes, general questions, etc. In the Bumblebee class (ages 2-3), you could not ask for better teachers than Ms. Yolanda and Ms. Sarah. They've taken such great care of our baby. Hands On Learning was our first school/daycare experience. Prior to this, our baby was regularly with me as I work from home. While already very extrovert and talkative, we really wanted them to gain more social experience. Most of the children in our lives are all older, so they're not used to parallel play with others their age. They're also used to 1:1 attention from an adult, so we wanted to expose them to a larger group setting sooner than later to improve on any growing social or separation anxiety. Ms. Yolanda in particular has been working tirelessly 1:1 with our baby and really partnering with us to make the transition from no school to half day to now full time (!) 5x a week to be as seamless and pain-free as possible. She's been great about learning what we already do at home and providing additional recommendations for us to try that will help with adjusting to full time school. While we're still navigating BIG emotions at drop off, Ms. Yolanda is always ready with a hug and a smile for our baby. There's still some days of all tears, but those days are getting less and less. I keep hearing that our baby is making lots of improvement from both Ms. Yolanda and Ms. Sarah. The evidence is all over our baby's laughing, smiling face as we talk on the drive home and lasts all the way until bedtime. I can't thank everyone here enough for helping our baby thrive. Our son attended Hands on Learning Center for nearly 2 years. The teachers and staff have done so much in not only taking care of our son but educating him and loving him in so many ways. Our boy has blossomed so much under their care. Before Hands on Learning Center, our son was enrolled in Speech Therapy but within a month of attending this school, he had an incredible speech explosion and no longer required therapy. He loves all the teachers (Ms. Jessica, Ms. Denise, Ms. Mistry, Ms. Lad, and Ms, Elis) and classmates so much and speaks so fondly of everyone at home. My son went to hands on learning for 2 years, and we really liked it. The teachers are caring and loving. They focus on helping the kids eat, sleep properly and feel loved (esp in the early years). It expands to teaching (reading, writing, worksheets etc) as they grow older. Ms Lad is a very good teacher, I could see the difference in my son. He started in Ms. Armina's class & then transitioned to Ms. Lad's for pre-k earlier this year. They are both such wonderful teachers who genuinely love their students. He constantly tells me that he never wants to leave his school or teachers which always makes me feel so incredibly happy. I also love that Ms. Elis is literally the most amazing school director we've known! She is truly all about her students & their best interest while enforcing an open door policy as well as a space for parents to engage & interact freely. We were nervous putting our daughter in daycare after taking care of her for 2 years entirely by us. Her first week of daycare went much better than I could have imagined. She was so excited to be around kids her age and her teachers are so kind. We appreciate Ms. Yolanda, Ms. Sara, and Ms. Bharani for taking the time to feed her during lunchtime and get her to drink her milk. What amazes us even more is seeing pictures (from the app) of our daughter napping as she's very active and it's usually a challenge to get her to nap at home. They also manage to french braid her hair from time to time. =) I love the activities (holiday focused, summer events, etc) initiated by the center all year round and our daughter comes home so happy. Everyone here is warm and gentle with the kids. My daughter loved to go everyday. They have a huge playground with ample amount of shade. They are very organized. They keep the kids engaged with interesting things like dancing, music, free play, coloring and learning. Let me start off by saying that this review will be written with the experiences of 2 separate events taking places almost 8 years apart. Which led me to leave a 1 star review. This learning center is under new management (not the best) with confusion on the new name, which I don't know what the center goes by now. Many years ago, it was named HANDS ON LEARNING CENTER and was owned/operated by 2 amazing women, Mrs. ISABEL & Mrs. CAROLINE. I had the pleasure to have my oldest daughter attend back a few years (7years ago) when they still owned it, and it was the best experience my family had. When owned by them, we had no problems. The center focused on kids learning through music, playing, and actual hands-on teaching with sounds and grammar. Tuition was affordable, and everything was included with the most minimal exceptions, which was always explained. My daughter started off with Mrs. YOLANDA, who is such a beautiful woman, potty, trained our toddler within days! We were impressed with her skills. She's very nurturing and caring. MRS. SARA was also so delightful. Taught our little one to sing and focus. She's very sweet and soft-spoken. Can't forget Ms. JENNIFER, what a fun and outgoing helper she is. My daughter really fell in love with her. She's attending, listening, and very caring. My daughter had learned a lot by the time we had entered kindergarten. She could spell at the age of 3, along with speaking and singing in spanish, was able to solve small math problems by age 4, and write sentences by the time she left the center (age5) (year 2017) now that was a place of achievements but I don't know what happened when it came into new management because this center is not worth the money or the time to leave a child in. We recently tried this center again with our younger son(4yrs) and we regret giving this place any money. Again, it's under new management. The coordinator is a Brazilian lady who isn't engaging and very unapproachable. ONLY if it has to do with the expensive tuition, does she communicate with you. Comes off as harassment. Payment isn't even due, and she's after you reminding you about payment before the payment is even due. Very uncomfortable. Also, Beware, everything is not included in the tuition. They surprise you by attaching "material fees," "event fees," "celebration fees," " summer fees," and "graduation fees" onto your monthly charge, which is insane. She's always on personal phone calls during center hours. Constantly on vacation, which made it hard to communicate with anyone in charge if you ever had questions or concerns. I believe we kept our younger son at the center for a bit over 1 year before we pulled him out because of the experience. With new instructors and under new ownership, I don't think they have a philosophy. It's almost like everyone just teaches for a paycheck and not for a purpose. Our little one didn't want to go on some days because he would say that they yelled a lot. He wasn't learning much and complained that his teacher Ms. DENISE was always on her personal phone. I brought it to their attention, and they swapped him to another instructor, MRS. LAD, and I absolutely did see a difference in him. MRS. LAD taught him to write, read, and do math. I think this instructor came from a Montessori center, which shows in her personal curriculum. She's very engaging and is always sharing the kids' progress with you. I believe she's probably the only one who wants the best for the kids, and it shows in her students. We did come to love her so much. It's very disappointing that this center doesn't work together to teach better. Please consider researching other learning centers so your child receives the best of the best. I don't think this center is worth it. New management should come together with the instructors and find the root problems of why it's not working for them before they lose more students. It's very sad that this place isn't what it used to be. read more

My daughter has been attending Hands On Learning Center since Sept 2022. We decided to go with this preschool because of the great reviews on Yelp, but also of how diverse the classes are. The classes are small which means a lot more student to teacher ratio, which is great especially for my crazy toddler. Ms. Yolanda and Ms. Sara are super sweet and very kind to my daughter, she loves coming back everyday! They send pictures and videos of my son everyday and we get to see what activities they are doing in class. Teachers are willing to interact with parents and I get feedback every day while picking him up. We see a lot of improvement in our son already and loving it. We've been sending our daughter here for preschool since she was two. At the time, it was hard to find a daycare that could potty-train children during the pandemic. But mostly we're glad she's got a place to socialize with lots of other children, as it was so hard to find any other children to interact with during pandemic, aside from random meetings at a public park. My wife and I searched extensively for a good daycare for our boys. Each place had its good things but none were perfect until we found this one! The boys absolutely love their school. At the others, they used to cry cause they didn't wanna go to; at this one they don't wanna leave. All the teachers love their students, embody empathy and carry themselves with unparalleled professionalism. Each has their unique style that they bring to the table. The activities are highly educational and engage the creativity of the students. They get exposure to various languages and cultures. Each day is an experience. The hours are excellent and there's flexibility in terms of pricing options and schedules. The cost is reasonable (especially considering the quality of the care). For those that need lunch the school offers a paid option. A good school streamlines your parenting and synergizes with how you raise your kids. Within days of going to the school the boys developed tremendously. Our youngest showed up and asked to wash his hands before dinner. Our oldest gets home and asks for activities to work on his letters and numbers. Even we ourselves are learning invaluable techniques from the teachers on what to do when things get challenging. This was a real find. We'd recommend it to anyone, and we hope others are fortunate enough to find it as well. About the only downside is how hard it is to get a spot, because usually they are at max capacity. read more

My son has been going to this preschool for almost a year and a half now, and I have all good things to say about this preschool. To begin with, the teachers and the staff here are so warm and caring! They always put in efforts to make sure all the children are doing good and are comfortable. Miss Elis, Ms.Yolanda, Ms. Sara, Ms. Lad, Ms. Jinal all of them have been really kind and loving. They are true caregivers. My son loves his teachers and this school has been such a happy place for him. I am really thankful to all the teachers here for creating such a positive and nurturing environment for the kids. They plan out and design age-appropriate activities for kids of all age groups; and they teach through arts, crafts, music, dance, playtime, and other activities related to writing alphabets, numbers, etc. Teachers impart knowledge about different useful topics such as safety measures during an emergency such as a fire or during an earthquake, they also make sure that kids learn about the changing seasons and plan out activities related to seasons/events during the year. They celebrate all the events (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter) with such zest and make them enjoyable & memorable for kids. I liked the way how the teachers here are involved in every child's development; especially Miss Elis. She is very warm and affectionate, and ensures there's a smile on every child's face. What an AMAZING learning center! My toddlers have been part of Hands on Learning for 4 years, and through the FABULOUS ways of teaching, my kids are always excited to go in. They offer great structure that introduces them to sharings and caring. From the snow days they create in the winter to the water park they host in the summer, this is a truly wonderful place for kids. They teach Spanish and other languages through music and hosting Heritage days, which is fun. We just love this little gem of a place! Mrs. Lad comes from a background of private school teaching and has taught my 4 year old great writing skills along with others fun creative art. She really knows what she's doing. Mrs. Denise is a fabulous friend to my other 4 & 5 year old she's caring and understanding, which goes a long way with kids who have tough time adjusting. Mrs. Caroline has been the beautiful core to keeping the kids aligned and organized. We couldn't ask for more! Mrs Yolanda is such a hands-on sweet soul and will make sure the kids leave this center potty trained from a young age! MISS Jennifer is so wonderful she's always available to have a good laugh, and we love her so much! You really can't go wrong at this place, I HIGHLY recommend it. My son has been back to school almost two months now and he is loving it.
