This school was pretty much perfect for her - you could work off the tuition as a parent by working hours with the school and my siblings and I were able to have a relatively low teacher-student ratio which is pretty much impossible in public schools. The best thing about this school, for parents, is that they become a part of the school experience for the kids. My experience here was definitely unique. My fondest memory of this school was actually before I started school at St. Patrick's. I was just dropping in for a day in first grade to see if I would want to switch to this school the next academic year and that was one of the best experiences of my life. I made so many friends that day and when I left to go home, I remember those other first graders that one day just telling me, "I can't wait to see you next year!" Needless to say, I went home to tell my mom, "I want to go to St. Patrick's!" Maybe my nostalgia is fogging my memory a bit, but I had a pretty fun experience with this school. I won't lie and say I had the best or the worst teachers. I didn't have a perfect education, but who does? If you're a parent in a situation like my mom was 15 years ago, I can tell you that this is one of the best options out there.

I'm saying this because I can't even kick a soccer ball inside and I can't even go outside the play area because of the first grade teacher. This is very bad for the middle schooler because of the lack of freedom they get. Ms. Lucy is one of the nicest people at daycare but when the first grade teacher come the whole mood turns upside down. The summer following Kindergarten, she was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia. On the recommendation from a coworker, we toured the Merryhill school. From the outset, we were impressed. The curriculum was on par with the other school, and the diversity of the experience was clearly wide ranging. Once the school year started it became even more clear that the principal was highly engaged with all the students, and that between her and the teachers, they would bend over backwards to assure that the accommodations necessary for my daughter were in place. Unlike my daughter's former school, we were able to work with her teachers to assure that through her school work and tests, she could demonstrate what she had learned, instead of putting her into a cookie-cutter educational system that tests in only one way and does not accommodate for her needs. As she has entered the third grade, we could not be more thrilled with the Merryhill experience and the staff at the school. My daughter has gone from hating school to not being able to get enough. Her grades continue to maintain at the highest level and she scored above her grade level in standardized testing. Her confidence in both her academics and her social interactions continues to grow. I sincerely believe this is in big part due to the efforts of the Merryhill staff. While every school and every environment is not for every student, parents should be doing their due diligence in assessing the most appropriate direction for their child. We are incredibly fortunate to have found Merryhill at a time during which we had numerous questions. A great big thank you to Merryhill Elementary School.

I went to this school from kindergarten through fifth grade and here are my thoughts. it's been…read moreyears since i've graduated but there's this thing that has been bugging me. when i went in to third grade, there was this thing during lunch called "silent time". we would have 15 minutes to talk to our friends while eating, then the last 15 minutes it NEEDED to be dead silent. we can't make eye contact or laugh with our friends if we wanted a full recess time. i get it the school wants children to focus on eating, but even if you're finished eating you can't even play rock paper scissors with your friends if you don't want to get in trouble. smile, not a full recess. what am i supposed to do when im finished eating, slump with my head down like a depressed child?? why couldn't i just be homeschooled if i didn't want to talk with my friends ?? Sure the education was pretty good until it came to the point where most of the good teachers left. i hope the new principal turns this school around.

My child is currently in the Intermediate program, and I've noticed a lot of growth from clearer speech and broader knowledge to more confidence in making friends and trying different activities. The classrooms are always clean and thoughtfully designed for little ones, which makes the environment welcoming and safe. While daily updates from teachers were more detailed in earlier programs, in Intermediate we still receive a nice rundown at pickup, which helps us stay connected with how the day went. The teachers here are truly the highlight. They are approachable, caring, and empathetic. My child often talks about Miss Ashley and Miss Rajani, and I can see the effort they put in every day. It's reassuring as a parent to feel that the children are in kind and capable hands. Most importantly, my child enjoys going to school and looks forward to meeting friends and teachers, which speaks volumes about the nurturing environment.

She told me a child needs to bite five consecutive days to be even considered for suspension. Come to find out that the aggressor was affiliated with the school and there were other undocumented aggressive behaviors. The principal straight up lied and had inept responses to my concerns. They now have a Type B citation, "a violation that, if not corrected, may an immediate risk to the health, safety or personal rights of clients" from the Department of Social Services. As a former childcare provider myself--at another Nobel Learning Communities school no less--it was extremely disappointing to see the incompetent leadership fail the amazing teachers and rupture family relationship on the ground. Oh and good luck at the next open house, because we waited since the night before at the advice of the principal and somehow they managed to be as disorganized as possible when they arrived in the morning and forced people to take a photo alongside those who got waitlisted?? Like what?? The sudden surge of 5 star reviews from burner accounts is also telling of their priorities.

Don't drop your kids off too early or too late! There's a time for when they can play on campus and when they will be waiting for the time to play on campus. I did have one bad experience a few years back, there when it was my nephew that was about to attend kindergarten, my cousin asked me to drive her there, so I did. The STAFF parking lot sign wasn't very large, nor was the spray painted sign on the ground large enough either. A lady approached me, I was sitting in the driver's seat, and asked "will you be leaving anytime soon?" I answered honestly "I don't know, my cousin is trying to register her son" the lady left in a huff saying "well, I am parking my car behind you if you don't know how long it'll be", needless to say, this school staff drives a burgandy SUV with a specialized license plate. My cousin came out a few minutes later and said "who parked their car behind you? " I wasn't paying attention at the time when the lady approached me I turned around and yup. Her car was parked right behind me so that I couldn't reverse out. My cousin went back into the office and the lady came out with her lecturing my cousin on that it's a staff parking lot. 1) This is our first time at this school, the staff sign for parking was very small and the fact that it's spray painted at very odd corners of the ground (now it's larger from what I saw when I picked my nephew up) This is also the first time at a school where I see there is no parking for the parents and it's in a crowded neighborhood including a park. I've moved around a lot in my childhood days, attended many schools and picked up lots of nephews and cousins from elementary school... seriously, no parent parking or visitor parking? 2) Lady, you could've asked me to move my car, being that I was just sitting in the car, it's not like I left the car to go to the office with my cousin. 3) It was very childlike to have you park your car like tha when in fact there were 2 other, yes that's right TWO other parking spot available. I don't know what kind of lesson you're trying to teach me, it's my first time at that school as well as my cousin, if my child and nephew are to attend there as their first time as well, I hope they are not treated that way nor taught to treat other's that way. ... Now that my child is attending school here, I know from experience a few years back where I can or cannot park. But I still see parents going in and parking inside...

This is the first year that both my children are going to Montgomery. I have a first grader there…read moreand a kindergartener. I love both of their teachers and all the staff that I have come in contact with are all really friendly and nice. I've noticed that the Principal is very involved with the students and she is also very social and friendly to everyone whenever she is in passing with anyone. The school itself is nice, of course like every other parent that drops off and picks up their child here, would probably complain of the traffic but it's a school, of course it's gonna be busy around those times. Otherwise, my children are very happy with the school and so far, so am I!

Her teachers, Ms. Kosha and Ms. Fatima, are so caring, patient, and wonderful with the kids. There are a few other teachers that she loves as well but I cannot remember their names for the life of me. Ms. Shevta and Ms. Sneh are also amazing -- always responsive, communicative, and helpful. We also love the balance of learning and fun, especially the summer activities, and recitals and special events during the year. Overall, it's been such a positive and nurturing environment for our daughter, and we highly recommend this school!

The school opens at 7:30 am which is helpful for parents like myself who need time be at work by 8 am. They provide snacks/lunch and help the kids go to sleep for nap time. There are 2 concerts each year that your child gets to participate in, and they have parent teacher conference so that you can be engaged with your child's academic journey. The school is gated which gives a great sense of security and safety for your child and the staff. They are open during the summer and have a summer program. Each week there is a special guest/event such as a bubble lady, puppet show, bird show, bike-a-thon and a carnival day. This is truly a great school to consider if you're looking for flexibility and support.
