Honestly, they blew it at the end. 1 hour later, 2 Nail techs and I was hoping this would be my new "go-to" nearby Nail Salon but no. Not the case. Never again. The older lady who painted my nails had the worst attitude. She made a mistake and then said to me with a dirt look on her face (and I kid you not), "tsk, tsk" while shaking her head. I about lost it. I sat there through the process of drying my nails via 2 fans waiting for her to put on a top coat that NEVER happened. So, about 25 min later I ask someone to put a top coat on and instead they sprayed my nails while another young lady asked her if she put the top coat on. She came back and said that she put it on! What?! I've been getting my nails done for over 30 years at nail salons and spas across the country and internationally; I sure as heck know when the top coat has not been applied! This was the first time EVER that a top coat was not applied. At that point I was done. Not happy. Too much polish. Do not go to this nail salon. There has got to be a top notch nail salon in Covington somewhere or else I will travel to Elmwood to go to Essential Nails which is a top notch salon! read more

How clean is this place, if they don't wear gloves when the client is bleeding? She cut my finger instead of the cuticle. She cut 2 fingers; I had blood on two fingers. She never put on gloves. After I washed my hands, I was still bleeding & I had to ask for the liquid used to stop the bleeding. She didn't offer it & was about to slap polish on my nail while blood oozed from the corners. I will never go here again. Two of my fingers still sting when I wash my hands & this awful manicure was 2 days ago. Also, I think she used seche vite or a similar top coat because the polish shrinked from the tips of my nail. That may not make since to most, but if you do your own manicures, you know what I mean. read more

I would say stay far away from this salon. I visited this salon two weeks ago. I got dip nails and was told to get a tip. 3 days later, the tips came off. I paid $50 dollars for the service. I called the store and told the manager and she told me to come back. I went back the day after I called and asked for them to redo my natural nails, and the nail tech insisted that I get dip on them. I thought that due to their error in the first set that it was going to be discounted or even free.. but boy, was I wrong ... they charged me $40. That's not even the worst part. When I went to wash my hands, i noticed it. My fingers were bleeding. The nail tech never said sorry. Just put alcohol and started dipping my hand in the color. Six of my my ten fingers are terrible pain 5 days later and have been bleeding since I left. I have been wearing bandaids since I left the nail shop. So, getting my nails done was pointless. I have wasted $150 total in this shop this month. I'm done with this shop! Let's hope my fingers heal soon. read more

This will be the last day that Sunshine Nails gets another penny of my hard earned money. Today was the second time they took someone else before me after I had been waiting first. They acknowledged that I'd been waiting first and still failed to asked the other customer to wait. Instead, I was told, "it will be just one more minute." I waited for 10 before getting up to leave. The polish job on my toes was subpar. Even after speaking to the manager, he failed to apologize. My mother and I frequent this salon every 2 weeks. Before, I've had issues with nail services but tried my best to overlook it. NEVER AGAIN. If you are not a "certain type" of customer, they do not value you. I will go where my money is appreciated. Also, there is a sign on the door that says customers must wear a mask; however, it is not enforced smh. read more

I went there for a manicure and was not impressed at all. My cuticles are still bleeding and I had to get her to redo the nails because as they were drying they looked like there was too much nail polish on them and they were gooey looking. 2 hours later I can press on my nails and the polish moves. I'm not sure if it's the nail polish they used or what but I could do better nails at home. She did shape them very nicely and she was nice. read more

Absolutely horrible.. seriously DONT do it. Not worth it. Go down the street. I went there years ago and loved it (think I had Nikki). She's the only one that's friendly and will give you what you ask for. But any other time I didn't have Nikki, it was a terrible experience. The guy has told me which way he wants to do my nails rather than listening to what I wanted. I've left bleeding before and hurt. Twice, I went in for an acrylic refill and they said they needed to do a new set (my set was fine I'm sure they just wanted to make more $ by charging me for a full set). And instead of soaking them they would stick another nail under mine and pop the acrylics off which was ripping my nails. Anytime I have gone in I have felt rushed. Never relaxed or able to enjoy the experience because they are in such a rush to just make money it ends up ruining the experience. Like I said such as making me bleed by moving fast. Last, the nail salon I had normally gone to was closed by the time I had finished my exam and I was getting my nails done for my graduation party (and secretly my boyfriends proposal). And I figured maybe they had gotten better over a year or Nikki would be available. Nope. I has to go to a nail salon down the street and get them to fix them. They were AWFUL. I can't even post the picture I took because it makes me want to cry. Now a month later I can't believe I even paid for them. All my family and friends said I should've never paid for it because they were that bad. I was so displeased with the shape oh and my cuticles were bleeding. I went here about a month ago and just have to leave a review. I have been here twice, once for gel nails and once for pedicure, and have always had a good experience. Granted it is a walk-in service so sometimes you will have to wait if they are super busy (and yes it can be a decent amount of time) but I feel that these ladies do a really good job. I'm not a gel nail "pro" but I have gotten my nails done at a couple different location in the New Orleans/Mandeville areas and NONE have lasted as long as when I got them done here. Also I like the ambience of this place and feel refreshed when I leave. I feel the costs are a little high but I'm willing to overlook that. read more

Five stars for finger nails, one star for a pedicure. The one older lady who works there that just does pedicures is extremely rude, bitter, and downright disrespectful. Nasty attitude. There's also another woman who mostly just does pedicures who obviously has a chip on her shoulder. I saw her today be Extremely ugly to a customer. The owner who did my nails didn't excellent job. Went here for a little girls time with one of my best friends and it was HORRIBLE ! First they asked my friend when she was due ... when she said she wasn't she didn't even get an apology. Then I asked the nail tech to warm my water a couple of time because it wasn't warm at all and she never seemed to do much at all. Polish looked like my 5 year old could do it. Then we moved on to nails ... first without even asking they started to put nail tips on us ... we just wanted GEL manicures but they already started to file the nail bed so we just let it go then the owner and his wife started to push the dip on us ... we said numerous times no just gel then they started questioning us over and over making us very uncomfortable to the point I asked if it was a problem and if I needed to go elsewhere... they then stopped but started talking in their language so I know I was being talked about ! My friend asked for nail design with glitter for Mardi gras he told her no because she would've had to do dip ... many of times salons do nail designs with gel and polish so he lied . The quality of work was horrid ! After walking out spending $73 I will never return to sunshine nails ever again!! read more

If getting 0 stars was possible that's what they would recieve. The first time i went a couple weeks ago she did a good job, a little aggressive when filing my nails but nothing you couldn't get through. The second time I went was 1 days ago. I came in to get a refill and 2 nails replaced. 2 have broken since then. 3 of my nails were crooked i told her and she looked at me and kept filing. Practically ignoring me the whole time. The paint job was super thick and she didnt even get the sides of the nails just the top. She cut me about 5 times with the electric filer. I had to go home and get my mom to repaint them and i'm terrible at painting. Won't be going back and i'd advise anyone else thinking about going to not. read more

Yesterday I went here after work for a little girl time. I got there before my friend and I was seated in the pedicure chairs. A nail tech asked me when I was due. I knew then I should leave but I stayed. I told her I was not pregnant and she didn't even say sorry she started talking to another nail tech in their language and I felt like it was about me. I felt very uncomfortable. My friend got there and we got pedicures and moved on to nails. I asked for a gel manicure and the owner applied tips. I stated I couldn't have fake nails due to being in the medical field. I wanted white gel nails with Mardi Gras glitter on my ring finger. He told me I had to do the dip. I told him I didn't want that and said it's hard on my nails and I wanted gel. He proceeded to do what he wanted. I stated again what I wanted. My friend was beside me getting her nails done and the owner and wife kept pressure to get the dip. My friend had to tell them we didn't want the dip and if it's a problem we can go somewhere else. After I got my nails finished. They are misshaped and not what I wanted at all. My feet don't look like they were not even done. I paid $73 and I'm very unsatisfied. I will not return. Read good reviews about this place so I got a pedi and brow wax. The pedi was good but the brow wax was the weirdest experience. They took me past the "Employees only" door and into their back storage room with an open door showing the back parking lot. The girl took the wax warmer off a shelf and used it while it was still sitting in the box. It was only $9 for the wax but they could have done it in another one of the side rooms. I was sitting on a chair next to the wash machine. Very strange. I don't get all the rage about this place. I've been to much better for the same price. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had at any nail salon ever! The nail technicians were all Asian and NOT friendly at all. Would not even acknowledge when I spoke to them. My pedi not too bad. But my mani was so bad and a rush job that it looked like nothing was done. She tried to redo it but cocked a tude! So I said I'll just leave but not paying for it. The girl got defensive. She was in a hurry to leave. And at this point so was I but the owner insisted she fix my nails. The polish was so ole that after all that time on the mani when I put my shoes which were sandals on the polish got screwed up. So this ordeal was a waste of time and money. I'm slightly disappointed with this nail salon. Sunshine used to be my go to place, I was there every other week or so and was always satisfied with my experience. Yesterday was my first time back in a few months, and I wasn't pleased. I went in with a friend for two pedicures. I felt as if mine was rushed, and my friend was in so much pain the whole time, she was even bleeding at one point. Then when I left and inspected my toes closely, I saw that my old hot pink polish was showing through the new light ballerina pink polish I had gotten. The inner OCD in me kicked in, I hate it. And not to mention that they raised their prices. I was charged one price and my friend was charged a different price even though we both got the same pedicure? No idea what happened there. I don't think I'll be visiting Sunshine again for a little while. read more

I Went today to get my nails done. I was convinced to get sns instead of acrylics like usual. When they finished my nails didn't even have an even top coat. My nail hurt. I used to love this place but the past five times my gel nails lasted only a week then yesterday I got a refill on my acrylics and they are already coming off. I've been sitting here for 45 minutes waiting when they said it would be 15 minutes. I have a child I barely get to see in the week and I would rather be with him than getting a shoddy job on my nails fixed.Ilater I said I've been waiting 45 minutes and they said half hour ago to another woman 15 minutes. She said well sometimes you have to wait two or three hours. They have one girl doing nails today and a bunch doing pedicures. I started off getting my toes done then one of the ladies started being really rude so when it got to the point of doing my acrylic nails she barely filed them, they have multiple chips, very uneven ( some are square and some are oval), also she didn't put the matte color on all the way. therefore, it's shiny in some places and matte in others. I'm not the type to go on a page and write a review but I just payed 53$ for someone to ruin my nails when I have homecoming in 2 days. oh and let's not forget to mention that she took some skin off the side of my nail and it's still bleeding.
