For over a decade, anytime I've gotten a new car the first thing I've done is called sunglass to see if they have any availability to get her hooked up properly. The quality and service they provide is always the best and they haven't skipped a beat since the first day I've come here, and that says a lot about a business that has competing for our business in the valley for this long. I've been here a hand full of times and my process is usually giving them a call to drop my car off around lunch time thinking it won't be ready until closing time (6pm) but they are always so quick that I receive a call about two to three hours later. The people here are always friendly and they also give you advice and recommendations on the type of tint and level of shade that would be good for your car. You receive great value for the price. The location is very small and on the corner of van nuys blvd so getting in and out of the place can be a little tough due to it being packed during rush hour times. They have the front office where they greet you and then about four seats in the back with a table where people can wait while getting their car tinted. Lastly, there are a few food places down the street, so on occasions, I have walked down to Gayu-Kaku and had a few appetizers and drinks while I've waited for their call. I've gone to Hamid a few times for tint work because his pricing is very competitive. This review is not about his customer service -- it's strictly about the quality of the work done on my car by his crew. I know the condition my car was in before I brought it in. After the tint was completed, I noticed scratches on the driver-side door trim, a sliced rubber window seal, and another cut on the rear passenger-side rubber trim. This is a car that was only 3 days old and had just come off the lot, so I'm certain this damage was not there beforehand. When I pointed it out, I was told they only work from the inside of the car and that the damage must have already existed. But that explanation doesn't really add up because the process clearly involves spraying the outside windows and cutting the tint on the exterior glass as well. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed that my new car was returned with damage after the installation. I made an appointment next morning over the phone which was quick and easy. On location, I was greeted by Ben who gave me a higher price than what I was quoted over the phone. Ben gave a breakdown on the ceramic tint options, and took the time to explain why spending the extra money on ceramic rather than carbon was worth it - the scripted format / response to questions was very efficient. I took a few minutes to compare %VLT for my front & rear window combinations, and it became obvious Ben was annoyed a purchase wasn't made yet. I didn't take it personal, he was the same way with other customers who didn't immediately jump on the Ceramic purchase as well as his personal suggestion on %VLT combination ("Sporty look" or "Sleek luxury look"). Ben suggested 50% VLT for my front driver & passenger side windows. I decided to go with 70%VLT front and 15%VLT rear to stay legal, just in case I got pulled over and also to avoid having to re-tint my windows. Prime XR ceramic film. I waited in the lobby as my car was worked on; afterwards I noticed the invoice I received showed 50% for my front windows so I went back in the office to double check. Ben assured the front windows were 70%; I asked him to edit & initial the correct detail on my invoice just in case I had to present documentation for my tint. This really irritated him - he quickly made the change and got me out of the shop. The service was performed Feb 4, 2026 and as of today, March 4, after giving the windows time to dry & settle, I noticed some of the bubbles thankfully disappeared but unfortunately there are still a few bubbles and visible kinks that haven't gone away. I was excited to find a place with so many great Yelp reviews and was willing to spend the $395 on a higher quality tint due to all the 4.5 stars & "we've been doing this for decades" statements, so was confused by SUCH A LET-DOWN the quality of work received at SUNSHIELD Glass Tinting was. It took longer to create this review than it did for the actual tint work done on my vehicle, which speaks for the level of disappointment. I stumbled across sunshield glass tinting through yelp. i searched for tinting services and after some thoughtful research this was the best choice! before coming i called the business and they explained to me what the cost were and how it would be done. I would like to say that parking can be a bit tricky but other than that it was great. their staff members are extremely knowledgeable and they know their product. as soon as i decided on that i would get they got to work!! service was fast and prompt!! the owner did mention that the air bubble that were present after the installation would go away after 5 days and if they did not to simply bring it back and that they would take care of it. 5 days later and the tint was perfect! the bubble disappeared and the job was immaculate! I got the Prime XR Plus Windows film for a pretty good value compared to other shops for my new Toyota Cross 2026. I'll correct my review if I see the film peeling in the coming years, but the overall quality is solid so far. If I do see any issues, there's a lifetime manufacturer warranty and the shop has great customer service, so I don't anticipate getting it fixed if I do see any issues. Im sure this place does a great job but I guess I'll never find out. I was honestly was super excited to come here and get my car tinted but I was quoted 2 different prices for the same products 1 week apart. The person on the phone was the same both times, which is Hamid. He told me he doesn't remember the first conversation and he can't honor the price.... All because he can't remember talking to me. He said I'm confusing him with another shop...and asked me multiple times where I got their number. Which I answered but he didnt remember what I said and asked again. I also haven't called any other shops. He kept asking what's the average I was quoted at other places, which has nothing to do with what I'm calling about as I've already decided to come to his shop. I already told him I want to make an appointment but wanted to double check the price different between the 2 different types. This isn't car sales, the quote shouldn't change day to day based on how he feels and then telling me he doesn't remember. Does the quote go up is I tell him others quote me more? Is the price gonna be even higher when I show up to get it done? Ps... Hamid did not give a truthful response as I have a call log with a conversation we had less than a week ago on May 15th, 2025 at 10:33am. Why lie like that? WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED I came a couple years ago expecting great service, high-quality tint, and a clean job -- and got NONE OF THAT. When I returned and asked the owner to take a look at my car, he basically refused to acknowledge that anything was wrong, even though it was very clearly done horribly. For the price I paid, I expected it to be done really well. Instead, he shrugged it off and said, "Sir, this is a hand job -- it's not gonna be perfect." I understand things can't be flawless, but for what they charge, it should be pretty damn close. I had just bought a brand new car and got tint done right away, so I didn't want to come back or complain. But all four windows were visibly misaligned and looked rushed -- one in particular had a corner cut in a zig-zag pattern that looked absolutely horrible. I didn't say anything then, but I took photos the day after because I knew it wasn't right. When I came back to get it fixed under their SO-CALLED LIFETIME WARRANTY, I was treated with total disrespect. I asked to speak to a manager, and the guy LAUGHED IN MY FACE and said, "SIR, I'M THE OWNER." First, he said he would fix the one that was misaligned the most, then changed his mind and told me he'd only do one or the other for free. I was confused -- why would I want one side of my car looking different when all the windows were damaged in different ways? Even after I showed him a photo from the day after the job, he blamed a tiny scratch on the other side of the tint -- completely unrelated to the real issue -- and said that voided the warranty. As I started to walk away, he offered to fix the two front windows for about $100, as if we were negotiating at some random cheap tint shop. I told him, "You have horrible customer service. I don't want you touching my car anymore. I'm going somewhere else. Thanks very much." This place is DISHONEST, RUDE, and LAZY. Do NOT go here. I would give ZERO STARS if I could. If you're still going to risk it, you better look very closely before you drive away and make sure everything looks right -- because if you come back later, they'll treat you like trash. And definitely go in the morning, because by the end of the day, they act like you're a problem just for walking in. read more

Since the completion of work, two specific issues have arisen that were not present before the service: 1. Passenger Window Malfunction: After the curing period (time you can't unroll the window), the passenger-side window consistently gets stuck on the rubber sealing upon lowering. 2. Driver Window Streaking: The driver-side window now forms noticeable vertical streaks every time it is rolled down and up. I returned my vehicle to address the passenger window issue. During this visit, I felt dismissed by the attending individual who quickly looked at the issue and recommended I purchase a specialty cleaner to resolve the problem. I bought the $75.00 part and after two hours of rigorous cleaning and home installation, the window still malfunctions and continues to stick. The issue remains unresolved. I just had the awesome crew at Sunshield do the tint on my 2020 Outback. Hamid was an awesome person. Made you feel welcomed and very knowable. I called him about a month ago to set up an appt with them. The price he gives you on the phone is the price you pay. Told me it would take 1hr to remove my old tint and 2.5-3hrs for the new tint to be put on the car. Appt was for 8am and they called at 11am saying it was done. I was like damn that was fast. Know wonder he is the BEST!! I came all the way from the San Francisco area to have him do it. In my area they were going to charge me $1,300! I was like that is a rip off. Disappointed After 15+ Years of Loyalty I've been a loyal customer of Sunshields Glass Tinting for over 15 years. Hamid, the owner, has always been a nice guy who delivered quality work. Unfortunately, today that long-standing relationship came to an abrupt end. I called to get a quote for tinting the front windows of both my car and my brother's car (same car model). Hamid quoted me $125 per car. When I showed up for my appointment, suddenly the price jumped to $150 per car. When I called him out on it and asked him to at least honor the original price for my brother's car, his response was dismissive. Instead of addressing the issue, he told me, "Don't be Persian about it," which was offensive, especially since he was the one playing this pricing game. It's sad to say, but it feels like Hamid's ego has gotten the best of him. I trusted him for years, but this experience has made it clear he's not the same person. If you're Persian, beware - he may not treat you with the respect or honesty you deserve. Hamid's lost a customer for life, and I won't be coming back.
