It's been a while since I've been here. But with it being nice out and them having Saturday movie matinees for kids, we decided to check them out a couple of weeks ago with our little one. We went on that Saturday with our own blankets (make sure to bring that with you), extra sunscreen (it was 90 something degrees that day) and the extras for a comfy movie watch on this rooftop park. We drove and parked in the Cira lot for convenience, took the elevator to the top and walked up a flight of stairs to get to the spot - all very seamless and easy. There were a good amount of people there, but we still lucked out with a good spot on the lawn. Of course we were hungry, so we got food there. Decent portions and prices were ok. They had a special price for a kids burger, which really looked like the same size as a regular burger (we don't know what the difference was). My chicken sandwich was decent size and appetizing - nothing extraordinary but also not bad either. Chicken tenders were also decent, and the drink I had (Mango Daiquiri) was refreshing but I wish it was a larger size. Hope to come here more over the summer season for other things they have going on. read more

Left from FIFA World Cup Fan Fest here in Philly and was looking for somewhere to grab food before catch the train back to Delaware from 30th Street Station. You have to catch the elevator up (garage) to the 11th floor and walk up ramp, but once we arrived we knew that we made a great decision. The views of the City are the first things that make this place a must. There are many customers sitting around on the green space, they even have an area for furbabies, to just relax out. The game is playing on a huge screen on the building. There are tables with chairs and benches under a large tent with hanging lights and greenery. The space alone made this a great end to our time here in Philly today. The prices are very reasonable. It's an all ages space so so not be surprised to see little ones around. I got chicken fingers and fries combo which you can get with water or a soft drink, or add a cocktail at an additional price which was just a little better than standard bar food taste wise. The breeze on the roof top at sunset was certainly welcomed after being out in the sun and heat at the park for Fan Fest. I would recommend for sure. read more

BRING YOUR OWN FOOD. I waited over an hour for 1 burger. The expo and kitchen was a mess. It really wasn't that busy and everyone was waiting forever. If ordered multiple thing the food was cold because ur fries were put in the bag 40 minutes before the burger. Everyone was just ordering burgers, hot dogs, and fries and they were unprepared. Manager was rude about it, more clapping back at people who were waiting over an hour for a damn hot dog then apologetic or getting behind the grill and running his kitchen. Expo guy didn't know what he was doing, not giving answers and seemingly intentionally holding up the orders of people who were asking about them. U deserve to be mad if ur waiting over an hour for a hot dog. My suggestion, the kitchen would write names on the burgers for the expo. I think the expo should place the burgers in bags to get complete orders out quicker. There'd be 10 bags with incomplete orders when u could have have gotten 5 people their orders out and keep things moving. Yall gotta do better. read more

The space itself is the draw, not necessarily the restaurant. Cira Green is a rooftop park with a lovely view that we brought our dogs to (there is a dedicated dog park area but this was pretty muddy so we sat outside of it...which I'm not sure we are supposed to do). There are a ton of seating options and even a nice sloped grass area that I imagine is really nice for events. There is a huge TV screen on the side of the building that was playing a college football game while we were there. All I could think of while there was how nice a sunset movie night would be here, which is apparently a thing they do. The views are great overlooking the river. The beer options themselves were fairly limited and they were out of the two we initially ordered. Ultimately grabbed some wine which was on the pricier side but not so much more than you would expect from an outdoor venue like this. Parking isn't the easiest but there is pretty accessible parking along the river. Would definitely consider coming back for one of their movie nights. read more

This rating is separate from Cira green, the park in which sunset social is located in. This food itself is a solid 3 stars. To me 3 stars means it is average which is not great but not bad either, again just average. The reason the food is average is because it lacks menu options for beverages and food. The food isn't something to write home about either but satisfying when you have no other food establishment options around. The events that they produce and execute are certainly 5 stars! There is a theme or event daily, from live DJs, movies on the jumbo screen, trivia, happy hour (for dogs), and games! Came here for movie night with the family! Not only is your security sitting around they are drinking! I'm disgusted by that! Then a fight breaks amongst kids, that could've easily escalated because adults were present, security casually walked over and walked away not intervening at all. Number one they should've been removed from the establishment, the mother encouraged her kid to go back and fight. Several families got up and left, as we exited the building security female is sitting on her phone while you have this family on the other side to continue to fight! Get it together! read more

Sunset social is such a cute and fun idea! There's so much space and having a park on a roof with beautiful views of the Philadelphia skyline is pretty awesome. They do offer seasonal cocktails, beers, and seltzers. I got the frozen apple butter margarita and it was delicious! My husband got the hibiscus whiskey drink and he said it was pretty good as well. The service was really fast and they were great with helping us pick our drinks. They did have the Phillies game, and one of the bartenders said they do have spooky movies for the month of October. Not sure why the 3 stars but I thought it was a great place to have a lovely evening. Open to all with beautiful city views and decent food. We went on a Friday afternoon with the pup (they have to be on leash, unless in the designated dog area) found a spot to chill and relax ordered a couple of drinks and the cheesesteak burger and the fried chicken sandwich. The Cheesesteak burger was hands down the best burger I have tasted, chicken sandwich was okay and could have used some more seasoning or cheese or Mayo. Tater tots... well they were tater tots. While at Cira Green's park, Sunset Social is right there when you walk up. They offer food and dranks! How cool? Very! The menu is decent with variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages as well as a nice list of food choices. You order your food on one side of the establishment and they'll text you when your order is ready for pick up on the other side. Tried a bacon cheeseburger with tots. I was impressed with both. Also, ordered the Rise & Shine cocktail that gave me a little buzz. I only drank like half. :) I sat on my picnic blanket and enjoyed my meal & cocktail! Sunset social is a place you go for the views and atmosphere! It's a large outdoor space on top of a parking garage with lots of areas to lounge in the grass. There is a big protector screen where movie nights are hosted. The drinks were okay as others in my group complained the beers weren't served cold enough and the fries were undercooked and soggy. There official opening day for 2022 was 4/20. They had a variety of drinks and food to chose from. The drinks I ordered, they still had, however, they did run out of some drinks that my party tried to order and we only arrived a few hours after opening. Was a bit surprised considering the rooftop wasn't quite as busy yet. Anyway, moving on Watermelon Margherita! Extremely sour! Like seriously puckering sour. As my coworker said "it tastes like a blow pop dipped in lime juice". It hurt my throat a bit. My second drink was quite delicious though. It was the hibiscus smash. It wasn't too sweet and the whiskey paired very well. However, for the amount I paid, there was way too much ice and I felt like it was only about few sips and I was done. I would try and order this next time with less ice. For food, I had the Mediterranean bowl with a side of cheese tots. The tots could have been cooked a little bit longer as the cheese made it a bit of a mush. The cheese was good though. As for the bowl - very flavorful, however very small. The ingredients all paired so well and it will be the perfect summer salad to have while enjoying the city views. They did seem to forget my cucumbers in it though (or maybe they ran out of that as well). I will surely be back. If your a sucker for a good view this place is for you. It's like a mini park where u can lay out and read a book, picnic or grab a drink from their stand. Their drinks are pretty good they offer beer, wine and cocktails. The only is that you have to order a food item at first if you keep your tan open. My co-worker and I came here for lunch and had a great experience! We've been coming to Cira Green since it first opened, and we have been anxiously awaiting the opening of the rooftop restaurant. We were going to sit outside, but it was pretty windy, so we decided to sit in the indoor seating area. The decor is very minimal, but it's really not needed when the walls are glass so you can see outside to the surrounding greenery. The windows open outward and the walls collapse to let in fresh air to the enclosed space, which is a nice touch. The outdoor space has string lights, which I'm sure look amazing in the evening! I ordered a Veggie Burger (lettuce, pickles, tomato, sunset sauce) and split an order of Cheese Tots with my co-worker. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced! I can't wait to return here in the evening for a beer with a great view. I definitely see Sunset Social becoming my summer hangout spot! read more

On Labor Day 2022 I was stuck on finding an event to attend. I contributed it to Covid. I search the internet all weekend long and had no luck until around 3:30pm. After my virtual meeting I decided to leave and head out to this Free Park that I had found on the internet at around 3:45pm. If anyone reads my talk you would know how I felt when I found this Free Park. This place was said to have "Trivia Under The Tent" every Monday starting at 6pm. I had plenty of time to get there according to Apple Maps. I packed up my bags and was on my way. I love Cardiovascular Exercise so I decided to power-walk part-way there. Once I arrived I needed to recalibrate. I dipped into what I thought was the entrance to the building where the sign hung that read "Sunset Social Cira Green." To my dismay this entrance was a dead-end. I decided to creep into another part of this building behind a delivery man who, by the way, gave me strange looks the entire time we road the elevator. He got off, but I stayed on to the next floor. When the doors opened I peered out and an Asian looking man was getting on the elevator. I decided to ask him if he knew where "Sunset Social" was located. He proceeded to tell me to get off on the eighth floor, make a right and I would be there. Needless to say he was incorrect. I made my way back down to the lobby of the building, made a left on the corner where the building stands and noticed another sign that read "Sunset Social Cira Green eleventh fl." Of course I was following a loving looking couple who just happened to come from the dead-end entrance I was at when I first arrived. For some odd reason I had missed the parking lot exit. Anyway, the couple, another woman and I load the elevator. The nice man presses the button to the eleventh floor and we all exit the elevator. There was a sign that had some rules for entering the Free Park, which by the way is also considered to be "The Park In The Sky," and a staircase that I presume lead to this Park In The Sky. I started my video recording and was then stopped by a man and a woman who said they needed to check my bags. After the quick bag check I entered the "Free Park In The Sky." It was very cozy, with a lot of open areas filled with green grass and seating. I was hoping to attend their event, but because of the weather it was canceled. The restaurant was also closing, but I was able to get a drink. All in all I would recommend "Sunset Social Cira Green" as a place to go when you want to sit outside in a cozy atmosphere around other people and their pets because pets are allowed. I am not one for eating around other people's pets, but that's me. I like how "Sunset Social Cira Green" is spacious and if you bring a blanket you could get quite comfortable, perhaps even nap a bit. Outside food is prohibited yet the restaurant has a great selection. Search‍‍Sunset Social on the internet and have your next Summer outing there. It could be spectacular. read more

I loved this place! I used to go to cira green before this place opened up and it makes it so much better! There aren't many food/beer options but they're good enough and the idea is sitting at the park and enjoying the view of the city (and the numerous dogs!) They have some games set up on the side like corn hole and a large connect 4. There's plenty of space to sit so you don't have to feel obligated to sit under the tent. Was excited to finally try Sunset Social! The Cira Green rooftop is a very cool space with a lot of flexibility. By that I mean you can relax, have a picnic, play small yard games, meet up with friends and just hangout. My first impression of Sunset Social was that it was pretty average. It is located in a small building with an open air bar on the one side. The idea is great but it seems a little too cafeteria-like to me. The first thing I noticed was plastic trays for your food, not very chic. Although I did not get a chance to try their burgers I noticed a good amount of people eating them. Their beer selection is also just okay, so I would not go for that. I got the New Belgium mural which was pretty light and refreshing but didn't have a ton of flavor. They were out of the Victory beer which is what I had originally wanted. The frozen drinks also looked tasty but I also did not try one of those as it was a little chilly when we went. For the service, it doesn't seem great. We stood at the bar with many employees and no customers waiting for a good few minutes before they even acknowledged us. Overall, Cira Green is a cool rooftop spot, it's nice that you are able to hangout there and are able to buy drinks and food. For Sunset Social, I would not say it is anything over the top, but a not a bad place for what it is. read more

The service is good & efficient using beepers when your order is ready for pickup at the window behind the ordering counter. This also helps stop crowding in these COVID times. Okay I absolutely LOVE Cira Green and now, Sunset Social, as well! I frequently come to the park to sit and eat lunch on sunny days and also came here last year when it was a pop-up beer garden before they added everything. So I was thrilled when I found out there's now a permanent brick and mortar food and booze concession-type establishment. I visited on a Friday for happy hour after work and came right up the elevator with no line or cover whatsoever, which is nice. Food and drink is somewhat limited, but still enough to choose from in every category. I do wish the bar menu was printed/displayed more clearly or somewhere bigger and on the wall because I found myself having to spy on people in line to see what they were drinking. I opted for New Belgium's Mural (agua fresca cerveza) and it was SO good - a perfect summery, refreshing drink that's not too strong or sweet. About 2-3 beers deep into happy hour, after eating only a liquid lunch that day, I was in dire need of some grub so ordered the tots and fries for only $6?! I think the whole place is very affordable. They give you those buzzers for food so I thought it was gonna take forever, but it ended up coming out less than 5 minutes after ordering. Staff is very helpful and friendly, as well. I do love the seating outside the bar: lounge-style couches & tables, plus the entirety of the park and all its cement walls/grassy areas. However, I noticed one day at lunch they had out way more lawn chairs/regular chairs throughout the park, but this time they were tied up? I was hoping they would be available for this happy hour. My only complaint is the music level. It's LOUD. We had to scream over one another just to have a conversation. It felt too much like a nightclub. The DJ stood right next to the tented area and it was just way too much, too early in the night, and all pounding clubby hits rather than something a little more chill/mellow. Perhaps if they had a softer PA system or just moved the speakers outside the main seating area, that could work. Overall, I plan on spending many summer nights here! read more

This place is fine. It serves its purpose. I think what people don't understand is that it's just a small section of a open roof top park (Circa Green). You can go to Circa Green without buying drinks or food from Sunset Social. It's just there if you want drinks or food while hanging out up there. They have this little building where you order and white tent next to it with seats and stuff. I saw other people complaining about how you couldn't bring outside food and such inside the tent and I don't see why that's such a big deal when you can just go to literally anywhere else on Circa Green to do so. You wouldn't bring your own food into a restaurant no? Maybe I'm wrong and they were being mean to everyone on Circa Green regardless of where they were, but I didn't see that. Sunset Social itself again is fine. The drinks are expensive, but strong thankfully. The food is standard fair. Incredible chicken tenders (my companion and I raved about the juicy chicken and perfect proportion of breading!), but really terrible wine. Yes! The Views! But the service is pretty horrible. We came to visit around 1 on Saturday afternoon and ordered chicken fingers and a couple of burgers with a 3 drinks. They were out of everything chicken except chicken fingers which left burgers and chicken fingers as choices. As soon as we sat down, the crew started discussing where to move the tables with what seemed to be a staff meeting under the tents. Loud noises of scooting iron base tables across the concrete and chalkboard scratching sounding chairs. The food took about 10 minutes for 2 of us and about 25 minutes for my order. During the meal, we decide to move to another table during to the noise but just as we moved, they started rearranging the tables on our side. It wasn't a pleasant experience, but food was fair for the price. We were asked to leave since at 3pm they were having a New England style restaurant opening. Never have I ever been scooted around the room and then scooted out until this day. My suggestion would be pick up a few hoagies from Mipals or your favorite place, but then order the beers from Sunset Social. Cocktails are premade. Maybe try a seat outside of the tent if you're beginning your visit between 1 and 2. read more

So I live in the building next door and come to this location year round. It's a very nice roof park with some of the best views in the city. They also have really cool events like yoga or movie night. I'm not sure where to find event info from though. So what grinds my gears with this amazing place is the broken elevators. And when I say broken I mean broke ass. There's two main elevators and one have been broken for more than a year. The other one stops at level 7 every time it goes up and down and you can not reach the elevators of you are underground. This is a high ADA and safety issue. If you can not walk up or down stairs you will be stuck. For anyone with a disability- it is a big inconvenience and unsafe building. Because only 1 elevator is operational- Every one packs in. There is no social distance happening at all. And in covid times I think it's a very serious health concern. This place is so beautiful and I know a lot was invested in creating and maintaining this space. I just don't understand why they wouldn't invest in fixing this safety issue so people and come and go safely. If management is reading this- PLEASE ACT!!! read more

I went and ordered for my friends. We tipped on the register but after about 45 minutes with no update, (people that ordered after us had received their food already). We went and asked about our order. The cashier brushed us off and we assumed it was in the works. We came back after another 15 minutes and talked to the manager, Anthony. I came in irritated after waiting for over an hour already, but Anthony said "fuck you get the fuck out of here" (I had not sworn at him). The other customers around us were shocked. He then called security and we were being escorted out without a refund. I asked repeatedly for a refund and he agreed to give our money back. Anthony started apologizing at this point, claiming he was frustrated after a long day of work and making other excuses.
