I had a wonderful Sunday Brunch at The Brock House in Whitby…read more The food selection is excellent--everything from a made‑to‑order omelette station to fresh pizza, roast beef, salads, and plenty of fruit. The dessert table was a highlight, with lots of great options, and drip coffee is included. All the ingredients tasted fresh and high quality, and the service throughout our visit was warm and friendly. The interior has a cozy, welcoming feel that makes it an easy place to settle in and enjoy a relaxed meal. Reservations are highly recommended, and the good news is you can book directly through their website, which makes planning ahead simple. A great spot for a delicious and comfortable weekend brunch.

The ambiance is quite nice but the vibe was off for me. I couldn't put my finger on it at first but having reflected on the evening, I feel as though the staff was just condescending and 'fake'. I ordered the lobster tacos and the other guests I was with, both ordered the prime rib sandwich. They saw the sandwich delivered to another table and were impressed by the size and presentation. They, however, did not receive the same and were quite disappointed. That being said, I think consistency is lacking. My tacos were quite tasty and I was satisfied with my dish. If I were to go back, I would order it again. Overall, it's not a restaurant I would go out of my way to get to.

Had a very strange experience at this location. The food itself was great, but the service/staff…read morewere off. It started well, but we had just sit down, not even a minute goes by and the waitress asks if we're ready to order. We obviously needed more time. When it was time to order, we decided we wanted to do a big breakfast. I wanted to order additional protein sides to the three egg breakfast (sausage, bacon, ham), but the process they had in place made that unusually difficult compared to other breakfast places. I also wanted a waffle as a side order, which they don't offer, again very strange. They ended up charging me $12 for one waffle. When we were done, we hadn't seen the waitress for a while. She eventually showed up, asked if we wanted anything else, we said we were done, and she walked away. We thought she was getting the bill. So we wait, and wait... eventually I had to approach another waitress who was working very hard. She went to go find our waitress and finally we were able to pay the bill. On the way out, the hostess at the door had been on the phone for at least the last 15 minutes. As we were walking out, I expected her to acknowledge us leaving. She didn't. She just had this bored, miserable look on her face while on the phone and completely ignored us. It's unfortunate because the food was great, but the service and atmosphere ruined the experience. Will definitely not go back to that location.

Food was great. Our server Elyssa was the absolute best! She was friendly & attentive.read more

Returned! To celebrate my daughter's birthday. I have been thinking of taking her here, knowing…read morethat she would enjoy their cocktails. I am glad that we chose this place! Each dish has elevated twist, and the price is so reasonable and even generous for the quality. Cocktails are excellent (lots of line-ups). They also serve nice choices of local craft beers on tap. We ordered: (Food) #Cast Iron Baked Brie fresh baked brie with house-made wild berry compote, candied pecans, prosciutto, garlic crostini $17 : This served as perfect appetizer for 3 of us. Enjoyable. Variety of ways to enjoy the baked brie. #Canadian Striploin 7oz striploin, garlic herb mashed potatoes, grilled seasonal vegetables: We tried different & great steak dish here before, and this one is also EXCELLENT - the on-point seasonings, perfectly med-rare. Roasted veggies and mashed potato leave its own flavour and texture with right amount of seasonings. #Stuffed Mushroom Ravioli stuffed with wild mushrooms, tossed in a beurre blanc sauce, topped with fresh Parmesan: I wished the ravioli itself had more mushroom-forward flavor, and the wrapper had more delicacy (in terms of thickness and texture). However, I loved the beurre Blanc sauce - it was foamy - making the butter-ly and creamy sauce feel light in the mouth. Nice hint of tangy-ness. #Herb Crusted Salmonwith garlic herb mashed potatoes, grilled seasonal vegetables, and beurre blanc sauce: The same sauce as ravioli, that matched with salmon well. (Cocktails) #Fig Fizz: With Durham distillery Gin, Raspberry Liqueur, fig jam, lemon juice, honey syrup, soda # Lavender cosmopolitan # Passion Prosecco Martini # Spicy Hibiscus Margarita All the cocktails were presented beautifully. Today's highlight was Spicy Hibiscus Margarita. (Dessert) Chocolate Espresso Martini Cake rich vanilla cake, mascarpone, house-made chocolate espresso mousse $10: Essentially, tiramisu. lol. Nicely presented. This place is versatile for us. Just for snack, just for cocktails, just for local beer, and elevated food experiences. Promising satisfying experience in each occasion. So blessed to have this place in my neighbourhood.

Issue was with portion size - ridiculously small. Main dishes are appetizer servings size - I know we're going through rough times - but don't rip your guests off... we stopped by McDonalds afterwards :( Underwhelmed - underserved.
