Eggs Sunset with poached eggs - also showing Three Eggs w/bacon
    Laleh H.

My family visits Niagara Falls at least 3-4 times a year. One of the biggest dining challenges is breakfast. Gone are some of the hotels buffets and now we are left with expensive fast food options. This restaurant franchise has become a fav of ours in Markham, so naturally on our last few visits I had to check to see where the nearest location was. I was beyond thrilled to find out that this location was only a quick 10 min drive from our hotel (Hilton Niagara Falls/Fallsview Resort). It has now become our go to place for breakfast when we visit the falls. It is fairly busy, but we have never had to wait around for a table. Staff is very friendly and quick. You can see that it is a fav spot in the area as there are many regulars that are familiar with the staff. It's a very warm and welcoming location and the food and service are great! On my last visit I ordered: Eggs Sunset - $15.49 & $5.99 for 4 strips of bacon - Three eggs over easy with Peameal bacon on an English muffin, topped w/Hollandaise sauce, paprika and fresh chives. Served with home fries - I always request poached eggs instead of the over easy. The home fries are always fresh, seasoned to perfection and just the right amount of crisp around the edges. My kids always have: Sunset Super - $9.99 - Three scrambled eggs (any way you want) 2 pancakes served with home fries Three eggs w/ 4 strips of bacon $11.99 - Served with home fries and thick toast and add a side of bacon. They usually share the pancakes, bacon & toast. Portions are generous & the food is always seasoned well. Hubby has tried a number of items: Omelettes, Sunset Super, sandwiches etc. Check out their breakfast specials: Monday to Friday before 10 AM, they have a number of items with lowered pricing. If you are visiting Niagara Falls, this is a great option for breakfast without paying through the roof as you would at the spots near the Falls.

We came for brekkie before heading back to T. After a fun time at the Falls. You know when you are pkanning breakfast but iHop and Denny's are doubling up on Tourist Trappy dollars and you search for a place a smidge outside of Falls proper. So Sunset Grill was quite busy but we did get a large table in the back. Low carb options and greasy spoons dont always see eye to eye, ordered a greek omellete with tomatos instead of starch and bread, quite filling. Except I ordred egg whites which they might have forgot. Otherwise, service was great amd efficient amd am sure this will be our go to for times to come.-Zuk

The choc chip pancake was good ($5.30). We got an omelette with mushroom and Swiss cheese ($17.79), it barely had any salt. The potato's on the side were too salty. Wuda been perfect if they balanced the salt on the omelette & the potato wedges. They also gave buttery toast with jam which was good.

Good place to grab some breakfast or brunch. We ordered the three eggs breakfast with bacon and sausage and the sunset super with peameal bacon. The sunset super also came with 2 pancakes. The food was tasty and portion sizes were good. We left full and had to take a pancake and the toast to go. The prices are average to other breakfast restaurants. Come early on weekends as it was busy when we got here at noon!

I've never been a huge breakfast guy, but Sunset Grill is the type of place that makes me love it. I came to the Niagara Falls location over the weekend while in need of a hearty breakfast before heading up to Toronto. I came with 3 other people and even though the place was pretty busy we were able to get a table right away. The menu here is pretty standard for a breakfast joint. It's got all the classics, plenty of combos, and all the coffee you could possibly want. I ended up ordering the peameal sandwich with home fries and it's the only thing on the menu that I'll probably ever want again. The food came out pretty quickly and it matched the excellent service we received throughout our visit. My peameal sandwich was absolutely delicious and practically had me drooling over my plate. Mix a delicious sandwich with some A+ home fries and you have a happy Steven. Overall, Sunset Grill is hands down the best breakfast chain in Canada and it will continue being my go-to when I'm near one. I highly recommend giving this place a chance, you won't be disappointed!

Great breakfast option in the area. They have all you breakfast classics. I have a breakfast sandwich on a bagel, it came with veggies and home fries on the side. We ordered and in less than 10 minutes our food was in front of us. The service was super quick. This was a great place to stop in the morning.

Wine tour!!!! However, my momma always told me that you should have something in your belly before drinking so.....whats better than the diner across the street from the pick up location AND they serve breakfast all day WINNING! So I ordered the Sunset Super because it came with everything; Three eggs, choice of bacon or sausages, two fluffy pancakes and home fries-YES We were a little bit on a time crunch since we were scheduled for take off with the wine tour in 30 min, so we asked the waitress if she could put a rush on the order (felt bad b/c this place was packed!). However, the food came out steaming hot. I always order my eggs soft, which they weren't when they came out but the waitress promptly took care of that! The eggs, sausage/bacon and home fries were to die for. The pancakes.......left much to be desired. They just tasted generic and the syrup was nothing special either. I would definitely go back and order everything EXCEPT the pancakes, the service was awesome. This will be definitely be my breakfast spot on my way to my next wine tour!

This was not the first time I had breakfast at Sunset Grill, in fact this franchise is literally everywhere (similar to IHOP in that regard). Also similar to IHOP is the pricing. Places like IHOP (Canada), Cora's, and Sunset tend to be much pricier than say a non-chain joint. The good news is you're going to get a great tasting breakfast, the bad news is you're going to pay more than it's worth. Let's start with the location: great spot and easily accessible via HWY QEW. Ambience: clean and friendly staff. You sit yourself but they welcome you with a warm smile and a greeting. The food: the home fries are more square-ish potatoes, seasoned nicely and not under or over cooked in any way. The meat portions to breakfast (if you're not getting the early bird special) are actually decent portions. They cost almost $6 on their own (see the menu side order pricing). The eggs come in threes in almost every option but you must order all three the same. I usually get two scrambled and one over easy (cause my kid loves to dip the yolk so this was a let down). Now the best part: the COFFEE! Sunset sells their own coffee bean bags so you know it's gonna be good coffee. I am so happy to go somewhere that offers breakfast with more than mediocre watered-down coffee. There are a lot of great diners in the area but most give you brown water disguised as coffee. The main reason I chose to eat here today was because they take credit card as a form of payment. It was a last minute split decision and sunset came up on top. Overall- we ate to our heart's content, kids loved it, food tasted great and after 4 cups of coffee I was ready to take on the Monday!

Overall, the food was well-portioned, and cooked well. We could tell that the ingredients were fresh, and that the chef took his/her time to cook the meal, as the eggs were cooked completely through. Considering the prices that we had paid, we were stuffed, and didn't have to eat until later on in the evening. The food did take long though, and we had to wait in-line for a bit to pay for the bill. Service was good, as the waitress came to check on us a few times during our meal. For drinks, my wife and I each grabbed a bottle of Rickard's. They serve it in a frosted glass which is a nice touch, but... the price was pretty wild. Paying around $9-$11 for a bottle/can felt a bit excessive. We started with the Broccoli Cheese Poppers, which we've ordered at other spots before since they're usually vegetarian-friendly (my wife is pescatarian). I thought they were really tasty, but unfortunately my wife had almost finished one before realizing there was bacon inside...and it wasn't listed on the menu. When we asked to confirm, it was pretty disappointing. She was understandably upset, especially since she's been pescatarian for over 10 years. It would've gone a long way if they at least took it off the bill, but they didn't, and that definitely hurt the overall experience. For mains, I ordered JJ's Meatloaf; really solid dish. The mashed potatoes were a highlight, veggies were cooked nicely, and everything had great flavour. Only downside was the bun that came with it got pretty soggy. My wife ordered the Grilled Fish Panini; she liked it, not amazing, but good. The fish was fresh and flaky, and the bread had a nice garlic bread vibe. Overall, it's a decent spot with good food and a nice setting, but the beer prices and the issue with the unlisted bacon definitely took away from the experience. Driving down a gravel pathway through the property to get to a mostly unmarked black building. There was an unmarked door that blended into the side of the building with a welcome sign sticking out. The ambience of the dining room was very minimalistic yet rustic and warm. Perfectly designed to look out of the window to the rest of the property. Our waiter alex along with the rest of the well equipped and knowledgeable staff were excellent at guiding us through the meticulously crafted 10 course meal. We added the cheese course in between main course and desserts, fabulous addition. Honestly too many great things to list. From Lobster from Nova Scotia to hearty sourdough baked right down the street, to marinated raspberries on top of a finely crafted dessert. On top of most everything locally grown. We opted out of doing the wine pairing and tried out a few of their cocktails instead - Manhattan, vesper martini, pineapple weed daiquiri - all fantastic. I will be dreaming about this for a while!
