Sunset Grill is little gem that brings good food, good music, and a great atmosphere all together. If your looking for a place to hang out on a summer afternoon/evening in the sun listening to good tunes while enjoying a great meal. Sunset Grill is the place to be. The dining area is right along beautiful Edinboro Lake and makes for a great view while enjoying some local favorites. One of my favorite things to eat there are their sweet potato fries with homemade honey dipping sauce! Good place to bring your family or a group of friends! Service: The waitresses are all very nice, personable, and have fast service. The managers are very big on communicating with the customers. Atmosphere: My favorite place in Edinboro to kill time. Food is good, but expensive for what you get. Drinks are very pricey. (** For the area **) It's hard to justify the cost with cheaper alternatives with very comparable food (not that the Sunset Grill is bad / mediocre in any way), but the location is excellent, and its live entertainment is appreciated. It's seasonal - Edinboro is cold and (very) snowy for most of the year, but enjoyable during the late spring / Summer months. read more

This is a great little restaurant. Plenty of parking and seating so there was no wait. Had six people in our party and everyone was happy with their meal. From appetizers to dessert everything was very good! Service was also very good. Waiter was helpful when making selections and remained interactive throughout our stay. Eat here!!!! read more

Sunset Grill has great menu options for salads, sandwiches, etc. Had the Tex-Mex salad with grilled chicken--it was excellent! Hubs had a turkey bacon wrap--also great! We definitely recommend this place! Claire was our server and did a great job! read more

This is a great stop for anyone traveling through Edinboro. The staff treat you like you're the only guests at the restaurant and cater to your every need. This place really is a hidden gem in a small town! The management and servers are always pleasant and accommodating. The food and drinks are awesome and they even have vegetarian options! (Try the Drunken Arnold and the vegetarian wrap with sweet potato fries) I see some negative reviews on here and I can tell you exactly what their problem was: they came during Soccer week. Edinboro University hosts several weeks of youth soccer tournaments between May and June that FLOODS the small town with visitors, and of course everyone wants to go to the lake restaurant. What those visitors don't realize is that the 'boro is a SMALL town and restaurants can't accommodate a ton of people without reservations, during the busiest month of the year, also during Soccer weeks. Don't be pissy when you show up with a group of 30 kids and they don't have room for you. Take into account that other people made reservations or called ahead, and adjust your attitude like an adult, not a child. I can understand if the restaurant seems understaffed and servers are rushing around at that time, because its Crazy busy, soccer moms are demanding their attention every second, and it wouldn't make much sense to hire more servers for a few weeks, only to have to lay them off when business slows down a month later. I make it a point to visit this place Every time I'm in town and it's Definitely the BEST restaurant in town! read more

My family and I love this place, and have been coming here for many years. We were able to get out a few days ago and see the improvements that we saw under construction over the winter. I went there a few weeks ago for a relaxing dinner and was pleasantly surprised. I've lived in Edinboro for 3 years and just made my fort visit. The prices are agreeable and the staff was extremely friendly. Only downside was it took the waitress a bit to come to our table, but they were rather busy. read more

My husband and I checked this place out for drinks and small plates and really liked it. The drinks were reasonally priced and we appreciated that they had some local craft beers. We had some flatbread, but the star of the show were definitely the tropical cakes (they were like crab cakes but also had other types of seafood like scallops amd shrimp). Also, the location is really nice. It was great to sit by the lake on a sunny afternoon. The staff was friendly and helpful, but we have to thank the owner in particular. We had to go pick up our car up at the mechanic's and were thinking of taking an Uber. We are not from the area though and did not realize that Uber is not a super viable option there. The mechanic was about to close and we really needed our car so we started to worry. We asked our waitress about options and when she told the owner she OFFERED US A RIDE. That was an amazing thing to do and we would have really been in trouble without her help. Her kindness was the cherry on top of our great experience at this place! read more

The atmosphere is fantastic... right on the lake and great live music! The food was mediocre. We had a Reuben that was ok, burger that was good and chicken tenders that were clearly similar to Tyson strips. The fries were good although frozen. I thought the drinks were very expensive given the size and wish they had dressings and dips that weren't prepackaged. The peanut butter pie was great! Would we go back? Probably if we were in the area but mostly because it's a really cool place on the water. read more

Nice place on the lake! You have the option for some inside seating outside by the lake or outside under a canopy. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We had the buffalo dip as an appetizer and it was yummy- just enough kick to not be overwhelming. My husband had a burger and my daughter and I had the roast beef sub with au jus (lunch special). It was really good. Our other two had grilled cheese and fries which they both gobbled up. read more

Sunset Grill used to be my favorite spot to be. Similar to the rest of the reviews I see, the place has gone downhill over the last few years. Prices used to be reasonable and the old cooks and servers did a great job. But every year the prices have increased and the portions have DECREASED, noticeably! They clearly don't train their servers well anymore. I pay attention to management and it seems like the family has lost touch with their business and are getting greedy on prices per portion from food to drink. I hope the Mom and her sons read this because they need to hear it! Also sad to see those beautiful trees knocked down for a very few number of parking spots. read more

After numerous good experiences over the past several summers my husband and I decided to take our kids out to dinner here. It was the first time we were there this year and were hugely disappointed. The service and treatment we received was subpar and not remotely acceptable. When we arrived we noticed the place was busy but the sign said "seat yourself" and we were able to find a table. Our waitress arrived with an agitated look on her face and asked us if we had reservations, my husband looked at her preplexed and said "No" she responded by rolling her eyes and scoffing at us and saying "Well this table is reserved" My husband pointed out there was no sign and she pulled a post it note sized piece of paper out from under the napkin holder and pointed at it. It was not visible at all when we sat down, it was completely under the napkin holder. She said in an exasperated manner that she would try to find us another table "maybe in the back" and walked off throwing menus at us. We looked at the menus and got stuff picked out for the kids, thinking she would actually come back and reseat us. Ten then fifteen minutes passed with out seeing her. By now the place was very busy and there were no tables open or we would have moved ourselves. The party that had apparently reserved our table was shown to it by another hostess while we were still seated. We got up and gave them the table feeling forced out. Again the sign said seat yourself and there was no sign indicating the table was reserved when we originally sat down, yet we were treated like we were in the wrong. We went to see if there were any open tables and in the process finally spotted our waitress again chatting it up with some friends at another table. When we asked her about a table her friend pointed out another table that had just opened up but some one beat us to it. The waitress herself just scoffed tossed her hair. At that point we decided to leave her to socialize and go elsewhere to eat. The only reason this place isn't getting a one star review is because my family and I have enjoyed it and the music in the past. Hopefully the management will be able to correct this problem with their staff and and this won't happen again. read more

I somehow have never been here, even with numerous drives to and through Edinboro. we decided to stop today and I'm glad we did! big beer selection and a nice menu (my buffalo chicken wrap was AWESOME - just spicy enough and really good chicken!) but what made me go on and on was the atmosphere. atmosphere is awesome, really cool spot right on the lake. unfortunately, the food was terrible. the chicken served on the nachos was clearly canned and resembled cat food--tasted even worse. my buffalo chicken wrap was horribly dry and barely had any buffalo sauce on it. fries were just fried breading, no potato. everyone agreed that the food was incredibly bland. however, the service was friendly and the live music was great. solid beer list too. will definitely return for drinks one evening! read more

Food was good, very cool place to sit and watch the lake. Only downside was the single bathroom located outside in the parking lot.

Id give this no stars if it were an option. We were greeted with a smile, and it was all down hill from there. Found a seat along the water at one of the tables where we sat for a good 20 minutes, easily; waiting for a menu or for that matter ANYONE at all to acknowledge our existence. It was not very busy, (I'd hate to see how they function or even survive on really busy nights). Finally I got tired of waiting and melting in the sun, went to the bar to the waitress who smiled at us upon entering the establishment to let her know how long we've been waiting for even just a menu, didn't get even so much as an apology from her. She gave me two menus and then finally we got service and our drinks. The food was alright at best, and the menu isn't very big. Needless to say won't be returning here, EVER. Which is unfortunate because I reside in the Edinboro area. I work in the hotel industry so I know the importance of first impressions, and this was one of the worst. read more

We stumbled upon this restaurant and bar one day in the summer, while looking for something new. When we got there it was busy, but we were seated within ten minutes, outside right on a deck off the water of Edinboro lake! We ordered drinks and checked over the menu. Everything sounded wonderful. We ordered and after a little wait and a little mix up that was immediately and graciously handled we got our meal. It. Was. Amazing. Both of our meals were perfect and delicious! During our meal a band showed up, and set up to preform right outside in the dining area off the lake. They were awesome and the atmosphere was perfect. It was family friendly and also couple friendly. We ended up staying until late into the night when the closing act played! They were awesome! We were so happy to have found this gem and I can't believe how many times we have driven by this place and not even known it was there! I can't say enough good things about our experience! read more
