Gord and I had breakfast last week at the Sunset Grill. If you want a hearty breakfast, it's the only place to go in Blue Mountain Village ... it's a popular spot. We got there about 10am and had a 20 minute wait for a table ... but it was worth it! I ordered bacon and eggs ... my usual ... and it was good and filling. I left about half the home fries. Gord ordered the Eggs Benedict on crab cakes special. He said it was good and filling ... he too left some home fries. Ainsley was our server and she took good care of us.

To be honest, the food was not as impressive as it's seems and the woman behind the counter had a long face. However, remember that it's in Blue Mountain Village and you should be grateful to have this restaurant here. You're here to do sports so stop complaining and have a super breakfast meal full of eggs and starch and go skiing or snowboarding after!

We had a lovely breakfast here. I liked the feta spinach omelette the best. Their portions are quite generous as well. We sat outside. The tables and chairs could use a better cleaning in between guests. There are many birds and some droppings remnants remained on parts of the chairs. It unavoidable in a mountain resort but maybe closer attention could be prioritized for this matter.

Just so-so. I felt like this place was out of place for the village and I'm a bit surprised there are no other breakfast resto options in such a tourist hot spot. The food is very "greasy spoon" which would not be a complete negative for a breakfast joint but the eggs over easy were runny and cold. The coffee was weak. There were flies buzzing around the room. The salt shaker at our table was empty which I shouldn't be surprised at since the food was so bland. Just a complete turn off for me. Wouldn't ever go back. Take my advice. Get a Starbucks breakfast sammy instead.

Amazing service with delicious food. The breakfast plates are a very nice start to the day and if you grab a coffee here, the Christmas mugs are super cute. Each person gets a unique design and they are fun and filled with character. I would come back just for the coffee. Not to mention that this is located right in the village so it is a very convenient location. Only negative I can think is that the wait time to get a table can get quite long especially on busy days.

I would like to give 4.5 for the restaurant. Everything tastes good but I think it's a bit expensive. Bacon and sausage is a bit salty but overall the restaurant is recommended.

Finally, a safe restaurant to eat at Blue Mountain without breaking the budget. The restaurant selection is like your average brunch please, nice hearty meal to stuff yourself before hitting the hills. The price is under 15 dollars for most items and they are certainly very filling. The restaurant decor has a warm, homey feel. I really like their mugs and salt&pepper shakers, really cute and unique. They get huge traffic everyday, so be sure to come early. Our meal was pretty good, not spetacular, but definitely deserves the price point. My bacon was burnt, but it was difficult to inform the server about it because the restaurant was so busy. This loses them a star on the review. Other than that, I enjoyed my visit.

Our first night we opted to stop in at Copper Blues because it looked busy and had a nice patio that seemed to be the spot (we didn't explore past Copper Blues and that was a mistake since there were other busy and nice patios throughout the village that likely would have suited us better). We were sat immediately and had a really friendly waitress. She gave us time to review the menu and our plan was to split a couple appetizers and have a drink. We noticed the menu was expensive. Cocktails were around $18+ and while they weren't the usual suspects like old fashioneds and manhattans, they weren't super unique either. The "sharing plates" were $20ish or more. We figured whatever since it seemed to be a popular place and committed despite the price. Now I want to preface this with the fact that the sharing plates were very tasty. So good, we even kind of ate the garnish because there just wasn't much to share. We got the maple ginger shrimp and the walnut dusted Brie fritters. The former had 3 pieces of shrimp and the fritters were 4 pieces of Brie that would probably be the size of a piece of laughing cow cheese (or smaller). The quality was there but given the cost, we certainly thought we'd get more quantity. The rest of our stay, we'd note places were expensive but not $8 for one piece of shrimp expensive. So, if cost is truly a nonstarter for you, this is a chill place to get nice enough stuff. Nothing truly unique but good quality and friendly service. If you want fun and don't want to spend a bunch to leave hungry, look elsewhere.

Note that I went 2 consecutive nights and paid over $1000 in total, they would lose money for a small gesture!? Totally not happy with the service and food that night. The 2 star I gave was for the New Year's Eve dinner I went the night before, the food was nailed on, service was efficient, happy, and great! However at the end they over charged me, only gave me back the over charged items but forgot the gratuity I paid on top of tax. We let it go because the server was lovely that night.

Inside, one may order food and buy some knick knacks that are bohemian chic. There is also a clean washroom for one to use. I ordered a super bowl which was $17. The size was great, but I felt it lack some flavour and half the bowl was filled with quinoa. Not a big fan of it, I would have liked less quinoa. My partner had a veggie burger and he liked it. There was a spice kick to it. He wished it came with a side instead of paying additional for it. The following morning we returned to try their açai bowl for breakfast and it was delicious!! Frozen blueberries were provided instead of fresh berries. They could have used seasonal fruits. The crisp coconut pieces added a crunch to each bite. This dish, I would order again. They have a reward system if you sign up. Overall, a nice healthy place to stop by while one is up North enjoying some sports or a little get-away.
