    Chicken&Gyoza

My new all time favorite place for teriyaki. I got chicken and gyoza's which was about $8 but on Tuesday's and Thursday's it's on special so I think I know my new restaurant! The chicken was tender, well seasoned, and didn't have any of the icky bits I always seem to get with chain teriyaki restaurants. The Gyoza's are perfect, crunchy, flavorful, and fresh tasting. For something that is done the same over and over again, Suns Teriyaki just does it a little bit better. Also, we called in an order less than half an hour before close and it was ready in under 10 minutes. Love it!

We stopped in at Sun's Teyriyaki en-route to Oregon, based on the 4-star Yelp review and proximity to the freeway. We eat pretty often in Teriyaki joints so know them pretty well. I ordered the "Spicy Chicken" and Anne the "Chicken Yakisoba". Both came with Miso soup and the usual salad (iceberg, with that ubiquitous dressing that all Teriyaki places offer). The salad was a bit better than a lot of such places - carrot slices and poppy seeds as an addition. But still just iceberg lettuce with that standard sweet sauce they all seem to serve. The Yakisoba was really pretty good - nice blend of flavors, perfectly done noodles, and a reasonable amount of chicken. The "Spicy Chicken" though was really kind of odd - the flavor of the chicken was just not quite right - can't explain why. The "spicy" part was as far as I could tell just Sriracha sauce - and no vegetables - just chicken, mushrooms (very few) and onions (tons of them). Not very good - alright but not great. The acoustics of the restaurant are not very good - it's LOUD inside, and it wasn't even crowded. Very hard to carry on a conversation - the staff bang things around, talk loudly, bus tables loudly - not a problem in most places but the acoustics in Sun's are pretty bad - we didn't linger over lunch because the noise level was so high - only pointing this out in case (like me) a loud environment is not something you prefer for a lunch. Overall: 3 stars - I'd come back but would just order different and would be alone so the noise wouldn't put off conversation. Dave

Stopped here on out way to Seattle, very disappointing. Asked for sauces, we were told the only sauce they offer is on the table. The bottle of Sriracha on the table was so old it was discolored and dark brown. I had the chicken breast, it had no flavor at all. My wife had udom with chicken and veggies plate. She got 4 little pieces of broccoli and 4 little pieces of carrot, noodles were mushy, her food also had very little to no flavor. The floors were very sticky. Lunch was a huge disappointment, will NEVER eat here again.

I go to other Teryaki restaurants in town and decided to try something new. This is a new lost as it's been around. Building is old and noisy but does not smell like an old run down building. Had a chicken Teryaki and a special, which is chicken Teryaki and sweet and sour chicken. Came with a starter salad and miso soup which were both good. Chicken was not hot as it seems it sat while sweet and sour cooked. Did get a lot of food! I will have to try again but this cold chicken was disappointing.

No joke ! orange chicken so bad ! Hot Orange juice poured over chicken GROSS!! I've been here many times and it just keeps getting really bad. He try's to make it to cheap!

We stopped here on our way to Seattle. We ordered chicken teriyaki and yakisoba. The teriyaki lacked flavor. The sauce was a bit too sweet or gingery. Not great but not terrible. The yakisoba mostly tasted like char. Everything was covered in little black bits like it had been cooked on a char-covered grill or the grill was too hot and everything got a little burnt instead of stir fried. Overall, the place was clean and the girl at the front was friendly, but the food was meh.

I was underwhelmed with the flavor and freshness. The roll was ENORMOUS. Way too big, I had to pick it apart to eat it or attempt to dislocate my jaw. And it looked like there was cream cheese in it? It came out sizzling like fajitas and the chicken and veggies were cooked perfectly. The ramen was also really good. I recommend both. Service was friendly enough.

It's a nice new place, clean and new. The place is a bit loud. You can hear people in the other section and the drink fridge fan noise was flowing straight to our table. All hard surfaces.so the sounds bounced around the place. They let as move to a back corner away from most of the noise. The sushi was very nice. Being close to I5 they get fresh seafood from Seattle. They have a better than average selection of seafood. As you can see in the picture we ate a lot. The bill was over $100 The booth was comfy. And the service was attentive. The location was easy to find and basically on our way home. I recommend moving the drink fridge and add some sound deadening items, wall coverings or something. But a nice menu of items to choose from. I would return to Ryoshi if I lived in the area.

I felt bad for a minute but then he brought us to a table where the cushions were so blown out that the table was coming almost to our chins. It felt vindictive and I didn't feel bad anymore. Things got even weirder after that. We asked about happy hour and he said you have to be sitting in the bar, we asked to move there. Get to the bar and there's no bartender.......why sit us there? Bizarre. He took our drink order and mocked me for my choices. "OMG, you think whiskey tastes good with sprite? Ew" I honestly didn't know how to respond, I've never had a waiter be so weird. Then instead of making the drinks, he disappeared and didn't come back. Finally had to flag down another waiter who took our order, made the drinks and put in our food order. The food has gone downhill. My spider roll was rolled so poorly I couldn't use chopsticks. Had to use my hands and pray it wouldn't fall apart. Most of it did. Crab tasted old. Prices have also gone completely out of control. There is no happy hour to speak of, 10% off isn't worth anything. And $11 for a Sapporo?!?!?!?!? That costs less than $4 in a store. This restaurant is paying less than that. Absolutely insane. This used to be a favorite spot but we won't be back.
