Unfortunately, their post-install customer support and business ethics are nonexistent. I referred a friend who completed their installation months ago. I was explicitly promised a $500 referral bonus for this. After months of waiting, I tried following up multiple times privately to give them a chance to make it right, but I am now being completely ignored. It's a shame because I have several neighbors here in Fountain Valley who are currently shopping around for solar and battery storage. I was planning to refer them here, but I cannot recommend a company that fails to honor its own written agreements and ducks communication. Mostly, some of the solar panels on the flag roof were visible from the ground. I asked them about dropping the angle of the panels, to make them not visible, and they said they would look into it after we passed inspection. But then when I asked again after inspection, they said the angle could not be changed. I was disappointed that they were not able to fix this issue. Also, some of the equipment was located close to one of the windows, instead of being located more centrally on a wall between the windows, so it was visible when looking out the window at an angle. As I noted, small details. If I would have written this review 3 years ago, I probably would have given them 5 stars. However, I recently had solar installed on my house by another contractor (got a quote from Altadena, but they were about 10% more expensive, and I decided to go with a contractor who was local to where I live). While the contractor did a good job on the install, there were some of the technical details that fell short, included them selecting a panel upgrade that can not accommodate a CT (which measures power consumed). But this experience made me realize that Altadena Solar actually is pretty good. My one recommendation is if you have specific aesthetic preferences, be sure to be there during the operations.

It's difficult to get a hold of anyone quickly but Tony reached back out a day later for an appt with a tech and fox rep 2 days away. The tech did not turn up. fox and myself couldn't get a hold of anyone for 2 hours while we are waiting for info on why they aren't here. Fox found installation mistakes and helped identify the issue even though they aren't supposed to touch the installation, 2 panels shorted out and I need first American to fix it. The tech made some excuses for not turning up, said they had turned up at a different time for some reason, although my cameras don't show anyone at that time either. It's now been a week and no one will provide me with a day or time for an appointment. They outsource the techs, they do not work for first American. Im left with a system that won't charge, producing 1/3 of the output and im left holding the bag with a company that won't provide support service, you pay the money and then you aren't a priority when it doesn't work. Zero priority even when they missed the appointment. Tony's been answering the phone so he's the only one I can put a good word in for but there's no service reliability from First American after the fact. I'll update this review with the eventual outcome.

Project manager assured me, verbally, that the corrections would not take more than a week or so. That was five weeks ago. We are nine months into this project with no end in sight!!!
