Fortunately, through a friend's recommendation, I found the GoodLife Team and was thrilled with the experience I had in having them help me find my dream home. Scott Wiley, my buyer's agent, was dependable, knowledgeable and a lot of fun to work with. When I needed a lot of information about any of the properties we saw, he diligently went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that my questions were answered. It was great how he and the team kept the process on track and made it all a lot less stressful. I felt very fortunate that we found my dream home in the first week after looking at a small handful of properties! All in all, a great experience.

I did email him about a month before I was planning on moving to Austin and wasn't in the area at the time so maybe that had a part to play in it. However I decided to email the company in general when it was close to my moving date and got a quick reply from Ashley. She asked me to call her and asked a few questions about what kind of apartment I was looking for. The next day I had an online list of a good amount of properties to limit down to some favorites. She was really good at communicating with me through email, calls, and texts. On the day we met up she picked me up and took me around the few properties I had selected. She was pretty awesome, really energetic and excited to find me a new place. When I called her later after deciding on the one of the listings she showed me, she drove over to meet me within 20 minutes! Later when I changed my mind and asked to switch to a different property, she was understanding and quick to get everything sorted out even though I had already filled out an application. I recommend contacting the Goodlife Team if you are looking for a place in Austin. I'm really happy with the apartment I got and how helpful and quick Ashley was in finding it for me!

We set an appointment to look at places Monday at noon. So far so good, but then it began going downhill. Christina called me at about 10:30 on Monday (read: only an hour and half before our appointment) to ask me some more questions about my needs, and turns out none of the places I'd picked actually fit. She agreed to keep looking around and sent me some links to places she found. Every place she sent me was outside the geographical area I wanted to live in, and in really bad parts of town. I kid you not, according to google street view, one place was across the street from "Ideal Fadez & Colorz". I emailed her back and politely reiterated where I wanted to live and asked if there was anything else she could find. Her response (and this is copy/pasted): "I am not seeing any right now. Check out our website and see if there is anything else you are interersted in and I wlll be happy to show it to you." Is this a joke? The whole point of getting a realtor is to cut out the legwork. A few days later she emailed me to see if I had "found anything". No, honey, that is YOUR job, and I am SO done working with you.

Firstly, Michelle Wilkins was who I worked with and she was very prompt in responding to my calls, emails and answering any questions or concerns I had in dealing with the circumstances below: - I was doing an FHA mortgage (i.e. NOT conventional) - I was being gifted money from a family member for down-payment / deposit - Home was being purchased together by two, unmarried, individuals - I had a past foreclosure in my credit history and had since re-built my credit - I had changed addresses twice within the past 3 years - I was moving to Austin, TX for my job AND buying this home as a result of the move - I have a constant revolving credit card balance as a result of weekly business travel (airfare, hotel, etc.) for my job and a lag in reimbursement of travel expenses. - Since I travel for my job (consulting), I claim income in multiple states - I was sub-leasing my prior residence in Chicago. - I needed to buy a car DURING my pre-approval period....yes, you read that correctly. The period during which you aren't supposed to do ANYTHING to change your credit, Michelle helped me navigate the process to make sure I documented everything to satisfy the underwriter's concerns and was able to get the car. YES - it was tedious and cumbersome to have to provide a LOT of documentation to the underwriters YES - some of the documentation seemed redundant, repetitive and unnecessary at times YES - I followed up with Michelle very regularly (probably annoyed her) asking where we were in the process, if the application was moving forward, are there any complications I should be aware of, is any additional documentation needed, is it ok to buy a pack of bubble gum using my credit card?, etc. I just closed this past weekend. I was given "clear to close" 5 days beforehand. I had the HUD-1 settlement statement delivered to me 48 hours before closing. There were no surprises at the closing table and my loan was funded BEFORE I left the Title Company's office. (TRUE STORY!) Seriously - look at how many nuances I listed above in my loan and I had NO issues - but I also took responsibility to make sure I didn't have any issues. As an adult taking on the responsibility of a significant debt, I think making that effort is not only reasonable, it's expected. Anyone buying a home post-2007/8 should realize that underwriters are VERY particular in approving mortgages, especially on new construction. It would be naive of anyone to think they can get a mortgage with minimal effort on their part. That said, when there was a potential issue, complication, or uncertainty, Michelle was fantastic about following up with me and getting the right answer. Thank you Michelle / Advisa for being a wonderful partner throughout this process!

If there is chance to give 0 stars I would had done that as they don't even deserve 1 star in my opinion. With due respect I would like say please avoid financing with this company as you can definitely find better options if you explore. Here is my negative experience with company. I already locked my rate with wellfargo but still thought of choosing Advisa because my builder Gehan Homes said they will only provide incenteves if we choose Advisa as lender. But the catch is Advisa charges much Higher interest rates than others in the market and also they charged me around 19K as points for matching the rate same as wellsfargo out of which I agreed to pay 10k and remaining Gehan promised to help it. With this agreement I paid around 6k for locking interest for which Advisa said it will add to my closing costs. Now with the same Gehan Builder, with in the same community I had to transfer my home as I have some better options within the same price range. When I spoke to Advisa company they are now saying that I will be losing all my 6k and also rate lock. They really didn't disclose this to me when locking the interest rate other wise I wouldn't had paid 6k to lock the rate. I really feel This company is no way customer friendly and they will always try say one thing and do other things. This company tied up with Gehan and pretends that Gehan is helping us with incentives but this company charges us so much in points and so much in interest and to break even all those incentives. I tried asking them that I will choose Advisa as my mortgage company even for the new home and their secondary is not agreeing to pay or transfer the 6k amount to new home. I did fell in to the trap of Gehan Homes and Advisa company and please do your math before you think you are getting nice incentives. I wish this company improves their business principles by helping customers instead of finding ways to cash the customers. Once again THINK BEFORE YOU CHOOSE ADVISA.

This was our second property we have purchased, so we needed a refresher of how the processed flowed. We worked with Justin & Kim specifically who helped process our loan. First, they were SO quick. We first filled out the application towards the end of February (Feb 24 maybe) and we were closed by the end of March with Keys in hand. They really work hard for you to get you the best financing option for your situation along with they are always there to answer any questions or address any issues. Its not like working with a bank or a large internet company, where you are just a number to them and its black & white. They provide a more personal experience where you can actually discuss your options with someone in person/phone/email & they work with you through the whole process from the time you apply through the closing. Next time my husband and I are looking to buy or refinance, we will definitely be going to Park Place Finance!

On May 11th, I received written loan terms from Park Place Finance stating that if a luxury…read moreproperty I am investing in appraised at $4.3M or above, the loan terms would not change. They basically begged my broker to allow them to fund the deal. Their own appraiser valued the property at $5.3M -- a full million dollars above that threshold. They still refused to fund. After weeks of responding promptly to every document request, paying out of pocket for appraisal fees, and producing additional photos and video documentation they requested, they reversed course at the eleventh hour with no substantive explanation. Their COO's response essentially said that written terms are not commitments -- they're just "preliminary indications subject to underwriting." That's not what was communicated to me, my broker, or the seller's broker throughout this process. The cost of their reversal was real: appraisal fees I will not be reimbursed for, a seller who had already reduced the price to accommodate their funding structure, and a financing contingency deadline put at serious risk after I deliberately passed on other capital partners based on their written terms and verbal assurances. Luckily I was able to pivot and received "Clear to close" today by a reliable investment partner! Before working with Park Place Finance, I strongly encourage you to check their BBB profile. This pattern -- pre-approvals they can't deliver on, appraisal costs absorbed by the borrower, and last-minute reversals after written commitments -- is not unique to my experience. Multiple other investors have reported the exact same playbook. If you are a real estate investor considering Park Place Finance for a new construction or luxury asset deal --Make sure you have a back up lender in place, get everything in writing, and even then, do not rely on it. Their written commitments apparently don't bind them, but your appraisal fees absolutely do.
