So i went to this branch, explained my situation and within 10 minutes an associate named Maddie had the account ready for me, exactly what i was looking for. An easy going atmosphere, Maddie and the rest of the staff were amazing, they listened to what i want and that's what they gave me, at no time i had the feeling they want to rush or up sale me. Maddie explained the whole process and how to use /navigate through the website and app. I got all my questions answered and got good advice about the pros and cons of the account i wanted, also about tax related things. Have used Fidelity for decades. I make my own decisions, but happy to have their expertise.

I went in to get some information about rollovers and how the process worked along some other questions. The information that was told to me was flat out wrong. It was like the customer service rep was taking guesses at the answers. I left and did some in depth research on what the person told me and they were way off the mark. I was a long time Fidelity account holder and moved to Schwab roughly 8 years ago due to company stock issues. Unfortunately, not all the cost basis information came over. I tried getting that information from Fidelity and they maintain that the system has purged the information and that Schwab will have to request it. It makes no sense to me that they can get the information if Schwab requests it but not if I request it. Also this information is less tha ten years old. read more

The communication with customers is non existent. I had to call twice to get some copies that I had requested when I visited the place in person. I went back when I had a check to deposit only to find out everything HAD TO be done in an app. I honestly don't know how a company like Apple gives this place the privilege to work with their employees 401K investments. read more

I had to say so attentive and understanding of the situation and got my paperwork for me even though he didn't make any money off of it. Fidelity does not care about it's investors, they are bottom line only! We have been with Fidelity for 30 years, in 2021 we had a Fidelity check stolen, washed and cashed. As soon as we were alerted of the fraud we contacted Fidelity, which began a 2 1/2 year process where we were lied to more times than I can count, information withheld, and all culminating in a denial of claim 2 1/2 years later. We are working with legal council now and will be ending ours and other family accounts with Fidelity, never have we experienced this lack of regard for a client, be fully aware that if anything ever happens fraud related, they will not support you and you will not get your money back. This company steals your money. I did not receive a tax document, so I reached out to Fidelity NUMEROUS times to request it. I was told they could only mail or fax it. I explained NUMEROUS times that I don't have a fax number, so they said they would mail it and assured me I would receive the document by the tax deadline. I still did not receive the document, so I called several times to request expedited service in order to meet the tax filing deadline. I was told they would send the document via overnight mail to meet the filing deadline. The document arrived late on April 18, too late to file as I use a tax preparer. I had already filed an extension in order to not be delinquent. I reached out to Fidelity today to request compensation for the fee and they REFUSED to offer anything. This company is unethical and corrupt. read more

Opened a small account for investment. While doing research I wanted to transfer some of the funds elsewhere for another investment. They never made my funds available to me and when I called they treated me like a criminal as if transferring my own money was illegal or something. Had they even cancelled my account professionally I wouldn't have really cared but treating me like a criminal for wanting to handle my own money was eye opening. read more

Ehhh, my service was okay when I showed up on Fidelity's doorstep. They have keriugs and teas for you to brew in their lobby. Two people sit up front manning the reception desk to help with your financial queries or any concerns you may have. I believe they also have advisers you can meet with in the back should you have set up a time. Unfortunately I docked 1 star as I previously called them in the Austin site asking if I could do a rollover for my 401k account in person since I had the check with me physically. They said ok they would but when I showed up they would not be able to due to this being a 401k retirement account but if it were an IRA a that would be ok, then proceeded to give me a 1800 number. Props for at least getting me the RIGHT department number to call so I could get my forms mailed to me and now I need to get them mailed away. A bit old school but it looks like that's how the 401k employment retirement stuffs works out. Other than that, they seem compent and you certainly want that when talking about your money! read more

The representatives are not knowledgeable of the customer paperwork process and they are LIARS! And I was treated in an unprofessional manner. I contacted Fidelity to meet with an advisor after being bamboozled in front end load fees from Waddell and Reed. I met with Lauren Presley to go over setting up a Simple IRA and transfer a Roth account. She was knowledgable, professional and patient. Moreover, general customer service phone help with Fidelity has been top notch. If you invest, be mindful of the fees you are paying that eat up future returns. Fidelity is a great company to maximize your investments. Meeting with a smart and kind lady such as Lauren at the Domain office is a great experience. Highly recommend. read more

This is a typical Fidelity office: immaculate, courteous and informed staff, and excellent service. The machine to take deposits prints out copies of all items deposited for verification, Fidelity was one of the first to implement this customer protection measure. I have only three issues, the first two of which stem from their (good) decision to start having cash accounts linked to ATM cards to compete with traditional banks. First, they are only open during normal business hours and the machine is inside so there is no way to make evening or weekend deposits. Second, it does not take cash (this is a company-wide policy that I wish they would change). And third, exiting the parking lot can be tricky in traffic, esp if you intend to turn left towards the REI/Whole Foods complex, or to do a U turn to head N on 183. read more

I transferred all of my investments to Fidelity in January. Today I finally got around to transferring my work 401K to them too. Brett Gadberry and Heather Parks are professional, great communicators and do exactly what they say they will do. The information they give me is spot on and they have additional seminars on retirement that are available. This team has moved to the offices off of Burnet Road near the Domain. Beware of this place. I went in there seeking help and I have had the worst experience I could ever want to have. I took their advise and moved my money into a managed account. It was not performing and costing about 100.00 a month and going no where. So I moved it out and went in and asked for more ideas about where to put the money. No response, even after assurances from the operations manager never received a call, letter go to hell nothing from them. I finally rolled my money to Edward Jones and it is growing and I have a great contact there. Fidelity as a company is okay for stock purchases but their funds are not great. The Austin office is terrible and I would recommend staying away from there. Since writing the original review I have been contacted by the Branch Managereand discussed what happened with him. The result was he is very sorry and this is not what his Branch strives for. His operations manager claims to have dropped the ball and thinks he asked someone in the office to call me. He cannot remember. That person claims no recollection of being asked to contact me. The original investment advisor fell off the face of the earth. So once again in Austin one has to pay top dollar and settle for sub standard serice and thats the way it is. Fidelity for its part has no means for a customer to speak directly with a Customer Service executive as they have shielded themselves very well from the unwashed customer. Living in Austin, Texas gives you a lesson in learning how to live with second or third best at every level. There are few choices and you have to settle for what is available but expect to pay top dollar for it. read more

******Please, please read this before you open an account with these guys!! Their high-level mantra -- "If you have less than 250K to invest, we will treat you like dirt!!!" My company hired them on to manage all it's employees 401K account. I thought it might make life easy if I consolidated by transferring over my Roth IRA and Brokerage accounts to them as well so they are all under one investment portal. Fast forward 2 mos later and I am in the process of closing all my accounts with them because of their lack-luster and rude customer service, When you call to make appts (which btw took me three tries before I got to speak with a real human) with them, be prepared to wait at least 2-3 weeks before you are given a 30min appt. After that, be prepared to waste another 6 weeks before they can "process" the paperwork to facilitate the transfer of your Roth IRA account. In between they will not return your voicemails or ever answer the phone. Call their toll free number and those guys will encourage you to start the process all over again with them since they have no visibility into what the local office people are doing with your account. They will lie to your face and say "Oh you mailed that 5 weeks ago...I just got it yesterday!". Best of all they give you a postal mailing address when I called today to complain about the "Investment Representative" ERIC JOHNSON who was a total shmuck to me during this entire process and is probably the MAIN reason I am closing all my accounts. Do not download their app! I downloaded, and I put 500 dollars in it. The app checked my bank account, accepted it, and I went on my weekly business. A week later I checked again, and my account was closed because they said bank account had a problem. They "sold" (they owned the stocks the entire time) the stocks in less than a week and miraculously I own 73 DOLLARS, in less than a week!! They never contacted me first to see if we could solve the problem, but those facebook stocks never went down 70 dollars in a week, and I only bought one. Their sale price was the problem because was much lower than the market. Lost 73 dollars in 4 days, so you might as well invest in CRYPTOCURRENCY. If you do invest, do not forget to check your account multiple times. I want to understand how my bank account had problems if they verified everything when I sign in; they said my bank account was verified. And then, when you ask to talk to a supervisor and JONATHAN answers very rudely, they won't admit their fault and the supervisor will only repeatedly tell you "your business is not welcome at fidelity anymore." I feel sorry for seniors investing in this scheme because they can't even tell that they are being scammed. Paying 73 dollars for clicking submit is the most profitable business to run. read more

I called the office to help me with my Dell 401k. Since I no longer work for Dell I wanted to move my money to my Fidelity account. I called and setup an appointment. The person I met with was very knowledgeable and seemed very interested in helping me. He helped me transfer the account and made a plan to invest the money. He also showed me how to research information on their website, fidelity.com. Their website is very useful, a lot of information! I have since brought in other accounts. It is ridiculous that you do not have a local number and the hold is so long it is impossible to get through to anyone to discuss financial investments. If I could give Fidelity less than one star I would. Fidelity used to offer great customer service. Now, after being a loyal customer for over a decade and having my entire life savings there, the customer support staff is rude, arrogant, laughed at me, tried to tell me my CPA is wrong, refused to give me his rep number. The individuals that treated me this way were ROB TOLLETT and his supervisor STEVE BURNETT. These two wasted about three hours of my time, told me I needed to fill out a form and fax it back to them. When I received the form and filled it out they then said I had to mail it back...thus missing the deadline. They said they did not have fax numbers for other departments of Fidelity. They said they could not give me the local number for the Austin Fidelity branch. Quite frankly, they are liars, not helpful, rude, inept and try to give TAX ADVICE when their website clearly states that they do NOT give tax advice. Unless you want your money to go into a black hole and be laughed at by customer service when you need help, I strongly suggest you do NOT invest with Fidelity. Don't think the word "star" even applies. *********AVOID THIS INVEST FIRM********** Have had numerous problems with how they set up accounts, lack of knowledge on how to fill out paperwork, how to move money from one account to another and everything else imaginable. They set up an account in error, using the social security number of a deceased account holder. Now they have frozen the account, stopped the automatic bill pay, returned checks as NSF and I have to produce a 13 year old death certificate to re-establish the account and release the money. I STOOD at the counter, not in a cubicle or office, but STOOD at the counter for 2 hours and 50 minutes and now, 8 business days later, find out that they only had me fill out part of the paperwork necessary. I have now spent another hour on the phone trying to pull information out of them, they do not tell you what needs to be done, they wait for you to ask the right question. When the accounts are re-established, I will be moving the remainder of my money to Vanguard...I have already moved 2 of my accounts. Unbelievable how they do business. Customer service is lacking. They are good at saying "I'm sorry" but that doesn't pay the mortgage. I'm now headed to my local bank (so I can avoid the Fidelity office) to have yet another piece of paper notarized...this will make the 6th set of paperwork I have provided. If you have accounts at this establishment, make sure they are set up properly and all necessary documents are in order, or better yet, TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN, not walk, but RUN to another brokerage firm. read more

I conduct my finanical business with this branch office with trepidations, and really don't enjoy having to drive up there to complete it... Be prepared for a long wait! A month ago, my 24 yr old son and I went in to transfer his custodial acct to an individual account. Branch office appears to be understaffed at the front desk. Reps are indifferent and unfriendly to those waiting in the reception area; almost appear to ignore you. No sign of the branch manager. When, finally, we were waited on after 45 min, the financial rep wasn't knowledgeable about all the financial information I requested. And, on an earlier visit last year, the female rep at the front desk told me she couldn't fulfill a financial transaction of mine, when in fact she could. This "dispute" was solved only by my husband, who happened to be a former Fidelity mgr at a SE USA branch, and this branch's manager when my husband called him. She offered no apologies; only scorned at me and sulked off. If you can complete your financial business at another investments institution, do so. The financial reps at this office are pompous, arrogant, and impersonal. There's no sense of timeliness or courtesies. I have noticed that Fidelity's customer service and financial training has "fallen by the wayside" compared to my experiences in the past, i.e., its services of 10 -15 years ago.
