Serbian Sausage patty posted as a burger on the menu

Sunnyday Tap is a bar full of regulars, but my impression is that none of these regulars are local. One Irishman walked up to my table and shared that he lived in Park Ridge but worked in the area. Even though everyone was dressed in casual attire, you could tell some of it was on the pricier side. The Irish guy worked in demolition, and a handful of other guys were sporting Carhartt clothing, also pointing towards the idea that they had careers in some kind of outdoor setting. Another man's haircut stood out as either ex-military or off-duty police, or both. My visit was on a Friday evening. The bar did not look like it served food at all and I immediately asked the waitress if they were serving food. I think my friend and I were the only two people eating there. The burek Yelpers speak of was not available. The waitress said that the cook did not make it on this particular evening. I'm beginning to wonder if eating here earlier in the day would be a better idea. My friend and I both ended up eating sausage with fries. My Serbian burger was delicious, I just wished I had more space in my stomach to sample more items on the menu. One of the regulars bought a round of drinks for everyone. That was sweet. In fact, when you walk in the bar for the first time, you'll hear the record scratch inside your head. You will see everyone size you up. I'm glad I wasn't alone during my visit. I have a feeling that a few of those men at the bar might have tried to take me home. One of the regular girls brought her pet Chihuahua, which got passed around amongst the regulars closest to her. He was so adorable in that denim jacket! I will be back, but it will probably be for lunch. I've never had burek! I can't wait to try it!

My love and I were exploring the Forest Glen area on a lazy Saturday to check out a neighborhood…read morerummage sale, and we were getting hungry. We had been to Rabbits Bar and Grill (located on Foster near Elston) before with friends, and we were looking to revisit for lunch and a beer. We arrived around 1:30 PM to a practically deserted place, though a trickle of peeps eventually found their way there. Rabbits has an outdoor patio and indoor tables, but we chose to belly up to the bar. The woman behind the bar was a one-woman-band during our visit, serving our drinks and ice water, and taking care of our food orders. Our food took a few minutes to prepare on the grill, but it was worth the wait. I ordered the Texas Burger and it was enormous, messy and satisfying with bacon, cheese, grilled onion, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and BBQ sauce. The burger comes with fries or tots, and I went with tots that were perfectly crunchy. Many items on the menu come with fries or tots, or you can get either side for a measly $1 upcharge if you order a beef sandwich. Overall, the pricing of the food seems very reasonable, as the most expensive item is the Texas Burger ($10.45). My love enjoyed her mini fish sandwiches, an order of two cod sliders and a side of fries. Previously I have enjoyed the Joe's beef and onion, which is sort of like a Philly cheesesteak with grilled onions, sweet peppers and cheese on garlic bread. They have an extensive beer list with interesting craft beers. I tried The Claddagh Irish Stout by Phase Three Brewing, and if you are into trying a beer you've never heard of before, you might just be in luck here at Rabbits.

Friendly neighborhood dive bar with way better-than-average bar grub, excellent beer selection,…read morerelaxed vibe and fair prices. Don't play the jukebox during Wheel of Fortune, the regulars will get cranky. Evening bartender - I think her name is Leanne - is very attentive and accommodating.

This time I decided to go in right around 1 am and I was only planning on staying for about 15 min because I was waiting for a friend to pick me up at the train station across the street so I wanted to kill time i know that they were open bc I saw the manager (shorter guy black hair )come out with a beer in his hand and drink it in front of the business while talking on the phone loudly. When I walked up to the door it was locked and the bartender looked confused .. so I tried to call them on their phone and they both. Looked at me as if I'm committing some type of crime because I was asking them why I couldn't come inside . They both told me to fuck off and kept the door locked . Extremely unprofessional . The manager could have Atleast came up to me and made up something to not be rude but he didn't even bother doing that . The bartender looked confused but I only put 5 stars so they could see this . You guys are ridiculous.... Idk about ever coming back again and I'll be letting everyone know about this . I never been locked out of a bar in my life and i dont think I'll be referring anyone to stop at this place ever again. unprofessional. hope u lose all ur business

Not gimmicky like a lot of these kinds of bars but one with actual Irish owners. Of course it's also pretty cool hearing the Irish accents and not just people pretending or whatever. Authentic Irish is a pretty good description of it. It's not a too crazy place except St. Patrick's Day of course, probably because this is mostly people from the neighborhood. This isn't known among tourists or even most people in Chicago it seems. It makes it much less crowded. This is a small bar, so any crowd will make it seem crowded though. It's $5 for Guinness. They give you a big glass, lots of the Irish stuff. Has lots of authentic Irish booze. It's just lacking in the food. They have bags of chips and those kinds of things.
