This is great Ma & Pa bar and small restaurant. It's a great place to come while you're at work and after work. The prices are set good for drinks and food. The owner which is a father who has his daughters run the front while he cooks. It's a great small place to chill if you don't want all the noisier type of scene. They can make any drink you like. They have great bar food and pierogi's. It's a bar you go to hang out, have drinks and maybe play pool, darts and now have some Casino games that I don't play. I reserved a table and order pizza and appetizers for my friends. The pizzas were tasty and my friends loved it. It's one of the only 4:00 am bars still around but those days are gone for me. They have a good size parking lot and even a little outside area to sit. It's strictly bar food so don't go to dine unless you want bar food. read more

I came into this bar right after a fun night at Sky High across the street. Shotzees bar is like any regular bar, dim lights, music, and a music jukebox. The service is what really makes it stand out. The bartender was really nice and professional. She got us what we wanted promptly and was great conversation. I was visiting from AZ and stopped in for lunch. The Brisket queso is not your Velvettea cheese queso folks! Found out 4 cheeses make this so different and delicious and topped with some smoked Texas brisket, next level!!. Note: It does carry some heat though if you are sensitive. I decided on a Chipotle burger on Texas Toast bread and sided it with some of the best onion ring's I've ever had in my 67 years. I used to go there when I worked in Morton Grove. Had a chance to go back today Sat 9-10. What a disappointment. We went in for lunch and sat down at a table. The bartender ignored us and at times she was just standing there not busy. After 15 minutes waiting we walked out. They apparently don't need my business. This is a great place to have a party. I have been coming here for 15 years on and off. I worked close by years ago and came here everyday after work for a couple of years. The amount of customers is not what it used to be, but that is not always a bad thing. The quality of drinkers has improved greatly. Just so you know this place is closed on Sundays. read more

As good as a neighborhood "Cheers" type of bar gets. Reasonably priced food and drinks. You don't get raped on prices like at the Edison Park and Milwaukee Ave. bars nearby. This place was awful! The bartender "Victoria" has no clue how to be a server. We called ahead and made reservations for 12. There is a reason bar was empty. 4 people never got their food, despite waiting over 90 minutes! My sandwich and fries arrived cold (and I sent back.) Boyfriend poked his head n the kitchen to see what the problem was and Victoria was having a cigarette!! Could not make this kind of ridiculousness up if we tried!! Never once did she say "sorry" or offer any kind of remediation for the horrible service and mistakes!! Avoid this place!! read more

If I could just write lol over and over again, it would pretty much sum up my shotzees experiences. This was our main spot for a while when I worked at a 2am bar. I'll never forget the first time I walked in, I honestly thought I was at somebody's basement. I thought oh wonderful, this is going to be awful... But as the drinks started flowing, the more and more shotzees became a cozy place to hang out, shoot some pool and eat bar food. If you're a little bit tipsy, the cheese and potato perogis are really good.. I said when you're tipsy right? This place is exactly what a 4am bar should be. I have to say that this had to be one of the worst bars I have ever been in. The service was horrible. The bartender and waitress were rude. It is in the middle of no where. The place was dead considering that it stays open til 5 in the morning. If it wasn't for the fact that I was with a large group of friends I would have been real unhappy with everything that went on in there. I agree with the previous review that you would never find this place unless someone brought you here. It is surrounded by factories so it's busy times are during the week between noon and 5 pm. It's a great place to come with friends because you don't have to compete with the loud music and bar crowds, you can grab a table under the raised roof beer garden for a little conversation without screaming to be heard. The lunch specials are phenomenal like homemade Polish cooking. The after lunch menu is most deep fried anything. read more

I struggle to stay awake past midnight these days, but I went out with a couple friends recently and they suggested this place when the bar we were at closed at 2 A.M. Shotzee's is open until 4 A.M. I'm happy they brought me here because it was so friendly and unpretentious (plus I would've never found it on my own due to where it is). The bartender was nice and she made some decent girly beverages for me. The bathroom was a lot nicer than I expected for such a humble looking joint. The fellow patrons were a nice crowd. It is burried in the idustrial corridor between niles and skokie, but I used to work down thte street so we'd come here for lunch or after work drinks. If you work near here come for lunch. the burgers are really good. last tiem i was there $3.50 bought you a big burger, fries, and a cola. Shotzee's has really great food and potent drinks if you hang out there quite often! The bartenders are friendly, the owner is pleasant and likes to get to know his regulars and it is just a cheery place to hang out after work for drinks. This joint used to be ok a few years ago... Reasonably priced drinks, food, etc. & the service was pretty good. But I went there a few times recently & the food sucked (wings). The service was the thing that turned me off the most! The bartender i had the pleasure of dealing with was rude (unless you tipped VERY well) & didn't give us any silverware or napkins.. Umm, yeah, these are wings we ordered. Kind of messy... . Might need some napkins.. Which we never got probably because I didn't tip the bartender a $20 when I asked for it.. Beer was still cheap, but was skunky & it turned out the beer was expired.. Wait, it doesn't end here.. We got yelled at by a Shotzees employee with a European accent when we were driving out of the parking lot.. She was screaming "you can't come in this parking lot.. Customers only" .. We are customers dumb a$$!!!!!!! Or should I say we WERE customers.. Needless to say it was a bad experience.. Never going back unless they improve.. SMH read more
