Could be much better but not that bad for a bar around here. It's got beers and a few cocktails on the menu. Jet's is along a kind of boring stretch of Milwaukee Avenue on the Northwest side. Gets mostly locals from the area. The food isn't that impressive and is overpriced but the staff seemed pretty cool though. Basic looking place and basic menu with not a whole lot. It was even less than that since it was out of a few things. The atmosphere is good for watching sports or whatever. Had a few drink specials going on. It was $6 for the Smoked Pineapple Margarita, which sounded good and it was. Bad thing about it was that it wasn't much. Tiny glass, not much of a special. As for the food it was typical bar items. It was $8 for the Soft Baked Pretzels. Had basic flavor and were hard. The rest of the food is wings and that kind of stuff. Gets quite a few locals from the neighborhood and not a lot from outside it. It's for sure not a touristy place. This is far to get to from other places being kind of a long walk from the Jefferson Park Metra station, but you can take a bus there or wherever. read more

Its below average neighborhood bar place is just dirty, the floors are sticky bathrooms dirty. Some regulars who are drunks are here often. Should I mention I don't appreciate the drunks falling over and pestering us constantly. Horrible music on the TouchTunes if I hear Nickelback (or some hill jack music) one more time I may snap. Very basic booze selection barely any quality liquor and fireball is not upscale. Bartenders are ok some attitude but expected, they are better looking than the booze they serve so having old drunks drooling, and bothering them. Our best friend was fighting in Canada at an event called Ice Wars. Jets was supposed to host a viewing party with a drink/food special. We arrived and asked the bartender about the special. She had no idea what we were referring to (not her fault). We then made our way over to our friends who were all huddled around a small tv with a grainy feed of the fight. We were told the owner was on his way to adjust the audio/visual situation. Our friend was fighting in the fifth round and the owner showed up during the third round. We then saw that he was streaming the fight from his computer, and as he was fumbling to figure out a solution that should've been planned out for sometime, but the only TV displaying the fight was then minimized and showed the settings screen from the computer. We all decided that instead of missing the fight, we would head over to a guest's home to watch the fight, as she lived so close. When my friend heard about this, of course he was upset. He trusted Jets with hosting the event. It was a huge letdown. read more

Good bar food and friendly bartender. No beer on tap. Management is unbelievable. My friend had Jet's sponsor his fight, he sent a crowd of people to the bar. Only to find that the bartender had never heard of the advertised drink special, the fight was only aired in one corner of the bar (on their worst TV), and they could not get the sound to play. If you go on a Wednesday night they have $2 Guinness and a $3 burger. Cant complain about the $2 Guinness, and the $3 burger is just that - a decent $3 burger. Jet's, what happened to you, brother? Time was I couldn't envision regularly frequenting any other bar in the area. Sure, half of the reason was that there aren't many good alternatives, but Jet's had it all right there for me. Familiar faces from the neighborhood, Miller Lite on tap for two bucks, delicious burgers and a jukebox where I could abuse Appetite for Destruction in its entirety. Jet's is that old friend you've fallen off with, and when you finally get together again you realize why the friendship started fading in the first place. It began with $2 Miller Lite drafts that vanished, temporarily returned, then vanished for good. Strike one. The old jukebox is gone as well. In its place stands a new digital box that not only costs more but may or may not play your song by last call. All it takes to ruin your night is one drunken asshole burying $20 into the machine and hitting "play it next" a bunch of times. Strike two. Now, those delicious burgers I mentioned in my old review are a memory as well. I went to Jet's for lunch last week and was shocked to receive a dry and thin patty sandwiched between too much toasted bread. Strike three! I kept trying to give Jet's chances in recent times, returning there on occasion to rekindle the old magic of the joint. But I guess I've long outgrown it. And you know, it isn't just because of the Miller Lite or just because of the jukebox. Those are tangible things I can point toward that stacked up and led to a little disappointment. It's the intangible I'm having trouble with. Maybe I'm just older. Maybe the crowd changed. Whatever it is, it just ain't what it used to be. read more

My sister and friend used to frequent this place 3 to 4 nights a week! The atmosphere is great, the crowd was great and the old bartenders were great! It's new ownership now so things have changed a lot and I cant say that it has changed for the good. I guess you get used to things and sometimes you just don't like change! We initially went to the Garage to watch the Blackhawk's game with a total of 5 in our party, but that place had no more seating. So we walked over to Jet's. There just happened to be two high top tables and we were able to grab unused chairs from other places. We sat in the corner by the bathroom which was a terrible location to put tables. Every time someone came out of the bathroom, they were only a few inches away from us and we had to move. So we moved the table over a bit, but then we were in the way of the bus boy's path from the kitchen to the bar. Anyway, they eventually squeezed through the little path we gave them. It took maybe 20 min before the bus boy gave us our menus. Then another 30 min before we finally went to the bar to ask for the server. The bartender said there were no servers and we were supposed to come up there if we wanted to order- but that she would come over this one time. You would think the bus boy would have told us that when he gave us the menus??? Anyway, my husband and I both got the Patty Melts. Mine came with tots and his came with waffle fries. We both thought the patty melts were good! I was very surprised to be honest because I don't like rye bread and it came on rye bread. I thought the tots were good and my husband thought the cajun seasoned waffle fries were good! Our friends got the nacho fries as well- I wasn't a fan- didn't think it tasted much like anything but my husband and friends liked it. The place had a bunch of board games which I thought was cool. This is a very nice local bar. I had the burger and it was very good. The burger was cooked just right. Very good flavor. It was a Sunday night, so it was pretty quiet inside the bar. Friendly people. The bar is filled with nice HDTV's and this time it seemed they were actually showing an HD signal. I stopped by this place a few times after work at the suggestion of a friend. It turned out to be a nice surprise. The crowd I've witnessed is a mix of young 20 to 40-somethings. And since there are a couple other bars nearby this place can, and does, get a sizable crowd. Even on a late Sunday night. They have a good amount of HDTV's if you want to come here to watch a game. The staff is great and the bartender is awesome and answered all my questions I had to ask. Even when he's busy with a full house, he still manages to take care of you in a timely fashion. I've only had the appetizers but they were on par with what bar food should be, so I have no complaints there. And they have great specials just about every night of the week, so those with limited funds can still drink it up. I think this is one of the better bars in this far out part of the city. And since it is just northwest of my place, I definitely will be back. read more

Tonight I gave them a try after a couple rounds at The Garage next door, which is a friendly neighborhood bar. After I walked into Jets I was pushed three time by the same person and after finally saying something I was told, "Well, she's the bartenders girlfriend so she kind of does what she wants". Three time I was pushed with two hands by the same person who can't hold their booze and was looking for trouble. I moved to a different area each time, (I get it, sometimes people are drunk and need the benefit of the doubt) but each time she found me. If you need to take care of your drunk friend and relatives, put them somewhere private where they can act like a mess without running everyone else's night, ok? I shouldn't have to play nice while being harassed because your employee's girlfriend can't handle her liquor. read more

Bartenders were really nice and service was great. However, I asked the bartender to put my credit card under my receipt on my tab at the bar; they leave them out in the open. By the time I went to pay it had been put back on top of my receipt, which made my uncomfortable. I'm sure I have nothing to l worry about and it was just the other staff switching it to know my tab was open. Either way, I didn't like that. Second - neither bar tender could tell me about 3 different beers on their craft beer list which made me settle for a beer I knew, when looking to try a new one with a recommendation. I don't know how my friends found this place, but I'm glad they did. Thursday nights are $3 bombs, $2 Miller bottles. I do not like Miller, I'm totally allergic to crappy beer; however, the bombs are cheap and include every bomb (yay, car bombs!) I really like coming to Jet's. I just wish more people did, because it is often dead. I went here last Thursday and was very happy to find out they had $2 wells... I am so sick of places only having beer specials... The bathrooms are always clean... another thumbs up! I came here to have a couple of drinks with a friend in town for work. It was crowded, which we later learned was due to trivia night. The bartenders were friendly, the patrons were pretty social and they have different food and drink specials which is a bonus. My real excitement came from the variety of beer they had on draft and how my Shandy was $4.. SCORE! You can tell that its a neighborhood bar with a cool feel. What a mess this place is. So I have been here a few times and it's been pretty good, but last night was one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my life. So 8 of us we're out for dinner in the area and just wanted to stop for a couple of drinks, and Jets was in walking distance so we stopped. From the moment we walked up, we were stared at like who are you coming into this bar. Inside was like a frat party. The first thing we saw was two extremely drunk girls dancing on top of the bar, and looking like could fall at any moment. We worked our way to the back of the bar to find a table, and proceeded to notice that one of every 3 people were falling down drunk or passed out. It was only 10:30! So we ordered drinks, and two in our group ordered tap beer and both beers tasted like something was wrong with their system. They replaced the bad drinks, but that didn't change the vibe. So for some reason( cough, cough) multiple men we're going into the one toilet bathroom the entire time we were there and coming out with a whole new attitude. I have been in a packed bar with younger people many times, but have never been this uncomfortable. There was no bouncer, no rules and no way I will ever go back there. Four people that I saw still drinking could barely stand up. What really bothers me is that place like this is in my neighborhood and some of those people will be driving a car home. read more

We come here quite often when we want a decent burger and a beer after work. Wednesday night is trivia night, which is always fun. Thursday nights they have $1 sliders and $2 well drinks. Usually we just have beer, but last night we decided to try the well drinks since they were only $2. They were pretty strong (or else I'm more of a light weight than I thought). We also had sliders (which is also a deviation from our normal burger order). They were really good! I actually liked them better than the regular burgers and you could choose from some different ones. I had a regular (burger) slider and a meatball slider. They were both great! The burger one had a really good pickle on it and some cheese. They meatball one had a huge meatball, some sauce, cheese, green peppers, and onions on it. We also split a bucket of tater tots. It was huge and only $3. The two of us only ate about 1/2 of the tots. It's always clean and nice in there. They also have some outdoor seating in the summer. Unlike some bar restrooms, the restroom at Jet's is always clean. There is seldom parking available on Milwaukee Avenue, but we have always found parking on the side streets either to the north or the south. read more

Went here to meet some of my wife's friends and a friend of mine in two separate groups. It was alright. Food was great - no complaints. Bartender was also the waitress in many events so you may have to wait standing at the bar for a few moments. No biggie. I would give it another shot with a crowd of my own.
