The breakfast here is nothing special. I had the Irish Omelet which had cheddar cheese and corned beef has in it. I couldn't taste the corned beef hash because there was hardly any of it in it. The portion size was smaller The omelet was slightly overcooked and flat. The home fries were really good and you can get hash browns instead if that is what you prefer. The portions are decent sized (occasionally too big) for the price. Service is quick and the food is delicious. I find that sitting at the counter gets you served faster but I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes for my food and that's when the place is full. Sunny Side opened up a few years ago after the Friendly's that use to be here closed down. It is a clean establishment with good food for both breakfast and lunch. Burgers, gyros, pancakes, and eggs I have had here have all been good. It is family owned and the owner on a slow morning can be a pleasure to talk to. read more

My husband had the hungry man number one more food than anyone could possibly ask for one of his favorite parts was the pancakes he said they were one of the most fluffy pancakes he's ever had. I live literally 2 minutes away from sunny side cafe and never ate there before. Stopped in on a Sunday morning after the night of my graduation cookout to only be disrespected and not given the time of day from the staff or the owner John. Came in with 4 of my friends and waited over 45 minutes for our food and no one even thought to walk to our table to let us know "hey it'll be a few more minutes, or even an apology of why it was taking so long. We pulled a busboy twice to ask what the hold up was and to also grab us our waitress and she even took long to come over. We pled our case to her and she even said she was on our side and that she couldn't say much because she worked there but she empathize with us. We eventually asked for the manager. John who walked to our table the 1st time to take back the raw bacon that they had sent over to our table and still nothing. Called him the 2nd time still no acknowledgement. We asked him what took so long for our food he gave us the run around about the waitress not putting our order in. All we needed was an acknowledgement that they messed up and nothing. Manger John simply replied with not a care in the world "what is the issue?" Fed up with the service we received we decided to leave the untouched and uncooked food at the table to only be chased down by him yelling that we needed to pay. How embarrassing. What exactly are we paying for the blankly disrespect, the atrocious customer service, no acknowledgement that they were wrong? He threatened to call the police if we didn't pay so we handed our cards. Not only did he charge us for it he also wrote down our debit card numbers on a separate piece of paper incase we tried to cancel the transaction. I was soo upset and furious to have to deal with this 2 days after I graduated from college. Bottom line is i filed a dispute to get my money back and this place will never see my face or my time ever again. You've been warned!!! read more

I can defend the Patriot meal. When you order it and it's take out, common sense is that hot pancakes in a container with whip cream isn't gonna last for long. I ordered this in house and it was very good, they gave a great portion size of pancakes and just enough toppings of each fruit and whip cream that it wasn't over doing it. I thought the home fries were really good and crisp. I went a second time and had an omelet and that was good as well. The place is very clean and the staff was extremely friendly. Another reviewer stated dry,dry,dry unfortunately I found that statement to be too true. I ordered 2 eggs over medium with steak tips and hash browns while my GF had a cheese and sausage omlette with home fries. My eggs were sunny side up NOT over medium as I ordered, I ordered the steak tips medium well but they were well done and dry as were the home fries. We were served really fast, too fast as it seems like the steak tips and home fries were pre-cooked sitting on the grill drying out. The hash browns were the frozen patty that you get from McDonald's but they were very greasy like they were deep fried in oil that wasn't hot enough and were really bad. My GF'S omelet was good but our toast was only half toasted and cold. The service was horrible, we had to chase the waitress down to get the bill then again to pay it which is rediculous as it was 1 pm Friday afternoon and we were the only customers in the place. I was a regular at Sunny's but I've decided to venture elsewhere. The last couple of times I experienced very poor service. The food is not the issue its the service. I know that sometimes places can be busy and it happens where they may not get to you right away. I understand. However, the last 2 vists, I sat myself at the counter and then waited and waited and waited. The hostess walked by several times looked at me and kept moving. It wasn't even a Saturday and they weren't even that busy. The other two waitresses were so busy in conversation with the other customers talking about swimwear and what they are wearing for the weekend, they couldn't be bothered to see what customers were coming in. Finally, my waitress came over. Despite the food being good, I then waited and waited and waited again for her to bring the check. I never got a refill on coffee either. Last time. Charming and cozy place for breakfast and lunch. This was our first visit and was a positive experience. The staff was courteous and the food very tasting. The menu is very reasonably priced and has a variety of choices to please even the pick eater. I had the breakfast skillet (3 scrambled eggs, potatoes, ham, linguica, tomatoes, cheddar cheese) and it was amazing! The service was a little slow but was worth the wait. There were three adults and two kids and our total bill with tip was $50. Very reasonable. We don't live nearby and were at the town for a hockey game, but I would definitely go often if I lived close by. Now, there were two things that I wasn't very thrilled about: the restroom could use some cleaning and just when we were about to leave, another customer came in with her dog (not a service dog). Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but I don't think they should be licking the table that I will be having my food. We stopped in here for breakfast on our way through town after reading some other yelp reviews. Restaurant was clean and bright. It was busy, but we were seated right away. The service was a little slow at the start; we had to ask for menus and tell them we were ready to order. The coffee was hot and the food was very good. The Greek omelet was fabulous, loaded up with Greek sausage, spinach, tomato and feta. The Texas cowboy omelet was tasty also, with steak, peepers, onions and cheese. Substituted the home fries for hash browns, they were hot and crispy. The toast came hot, buttered but crispy. Bathrooms were relatively clean, but the changing table was visibly dirty and desperately needed a cleaning. The staff was friendly and attentive, and kept our coffees filled and hot. Went here for breakfast and food was decent, for the convenience. It's not wow, but I'll still come back because it's down the street. Service isn't great the 2 recent times I went there. Waitresses didn't seem too welcoming and looked so serious. Maybe it's because they had to run around too much, since there were only 2 servicing customers? Went on a weekday both times, so it wasn't super busy, just a good amount of customers. My 5 yrs old love the chocolate pancake there, so I'll be returning again. My Benedict was too cooked though. Were up this way for a family matter staying at the Comfort Inn.. Enjoyed a full bfast w/ my husband, 2 teenage children and my mother. EACH of us had a GREAT meal. Omelets and eggs over easy were perfectly cooked. As was the bacon! Tried the Patriot and it was yummy too. We all gave it 5 stars! Waitress was so pleasant as well.
