I used to love this place and I think only because Amy used to run it. I don't know if she is still there as I haven't been there in a while until today 2/29/20. I got a pedicure by May and it was the quickest "pedicure" ever. She hardly cut my cuticles or filed my nails, my toenails are not even, no message and they charge a $1 for the top coat that you get for free anywhere else. You can even buy it from Sally's. This salon is close to home but I think I will be driving further to a place that makes me feel like I had a relaxing pedicure. This felt like a polish change, not a pedicure. I went here once and would never go back. I got a full set of acrylics and it was quite obvious they had no idea what they were doing. It took forever and then halfway through they switched nail techs on me without saying anything to me. It was very strange. I also heard a story from my current nail technician, her client had come here for a pedicure and there was a roach in the pedi tub. The guy used his bare hands to scoop it out and throw it in the garbage and told her to put her feet back. How disgusting, unsanitary, and unprofessional!! read more

the male owner of the salon did my nails today. i showed a photo of the "coffin" shaped nail, he explained it is more money because they have to file more. after filing my nail extension down to nothing with an extremely uneven shape, i expressed how unsatisfied with my nails i was. he told me my fingers are crooked.... there were also nail designs displayed so i chose one which was also an extra charge for the two fingers i wanted it on. after completing the design, he asked if i liked it. it looked nothing like what was displayed. he removed the design and continued. now 2.5 hours later i have crooked granny nails that costed $45. what a waste of money and time. i will never return to sunnys. read more

I have been going to Sunny's Nails in Rocky Point for years but I will now be looking for another establishment. I made an appointment for a matching gel manicure and regular pedicure. I selected a color from the samples that state that they match both fingernails and toenails. I thought that everything was set until I was told that the salon was out of my selection. So, I chose a second color, which they were also out of. I then proceeded to go through six color selections that they did not have in stock. I finally selected a seventh color and when completed, the colors did not match at all. Totally different colors. There was no way until the end of the session that I could be aware of the fact that my fingernail and toenail colors were different. During the gel manicure, my feet are underneath a technician's station and not in sight. I took their word and their chart that the colors would be similar, if not matching. In addition, I paid extra to switch from a previous powder manicure to the gel manicure because the gel is supposed to have a matching toenail color. When I pointed this out, the technician agreed that the colors were different. The manager then stepped in and told me that not all of the colors can match.....Well, this sounds like false advertising within their salon. And.....nothing was suggested to remedy the situation. This little, no frills nail salon is my secret to long lasting, lustrous gel manis and pedis. There is a large color selection and the nail techs are quick, thorough, and courteous- my usual is a gel mani, pedi, and eyebrow wax and with an appointment I'm done in an hour and a half tops. Prices are very good for the area- 46.00 for a gel mani and pedi on the weekends, less on a weekday, about 7.00 for an eyebrow wax. Try it, but make an appointment first. I have been to sunny nails before but not in a while so decided to try it out since iki can get a gel pedi here for cheap ! And it was nice did get a little hot in there as i was getting it done but serivice was good the lady asked "what color i wanted "and i said "well im getting gel"And said "okay so what color" like i would magically knew what color she had. Also when it was time to get polished she sat me in a reg nail chair and had me put my feet under the table so she can paint them which i thought was werid ik they have pedi gel machines but i guess they dont want to invest other then that she could have did a another coat i got white gel but still place was nice and i got a gel pedi with callus remover for 36$ will deff be going back. read more

How are there no reviews for this place? Sunny is the actually owner and a wonderfully nice woman who gives a great manicure. I've been going to Sunny's since before it was Sunny's (this place has always been a nail place, at least since I was in hs way back in 2004). Mani and pedi mon-thur is 16 and their gel is 18 everyday (more for a French not sure on gel pedi prices). I moved from wading river to port Jefferson village but work in Yaphank, I have been searching for a place that does gels as good for the same price. I've given up and will just drive out of my every two weeks. The Mani I have now has lasted almost a month. The regrowth looks horrible because I just haven't had time to come back. They never chip or peel and stay shiny the entire time. They carry all the gel brands. I'm kinda of anti OPI and they don't look at me crazy when I take forever to select a color find out its OPI and then take another ten mins to pick. After so many years they know my other family members who go and always ask about my mom or sister. They take cc and you can leave the tip on the card. I've learned my lesson and will never stray from Sunny's. read more

Having moved to the Ridge area over a year ago, I was unsure about nail salons out this way and have been trying to obtain the same level of service I received at my previous nail spas of choice in my old area a few towns west of here. This is the second location I have tried out, and I'm not particularly disappointed, though I'm not highly satisfied either. It's a little, basic nail salon/spa in a shopping center with a few shops, the largest and easiest recognized by the road being the yellow awning of Kivin, a Chinese/Japanese restaurant. The owner, presumably Sunny, was very nice and the service was quick. I requested a gel manicure & standard pedicure, which wasn't the worst price (@ $35) but not the best either. Their sign stated a regular mani/pedi Monday-Thursday was only $19.99, but to get the gel mani made the transaction split @ $20/mani & $15/pedi. A little odd pricing, only considering they stated a gel pedi was +$10, so why's a gel mani +$12? The service was alright and satisfactory, though not the best I've received nor highly pleasant. Will keep them in mind, but the lack of pedicure options was unfortunate - standard pedi @ $15, gel pedi @ $25, or spa pedi @ $40 - it's nice when there's more spa pedicure options than just $40... My precious salons all had many selections of pedi's to pick from, with better price options. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ we'll see how the gel manicure holds up! read more
