You walk up to the window, place your order and wait for your name to be called. Everyone is very friendly! I got the caramel Cuban coffee latte and I enjoyed it. I don't think it was as strong as some other Cuban coffee I've had but I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet, so you still got a nice coffee flavor without being overpowered by sugar. Love the mural on the side and there are lots of roosters hanging around begging for some of your leftovers.

Our waitress was attentive, kind, and even with a lot of customers on her plate, she handled us with equal care and attention. Nothing out of this world, greasy sausages and ham, etc. Kind of like a Denny's. Ambiance was nice, the place has an old-school charm. Tables were clean, oldies were playing. Lovely space. I would come again if I needed something quick and fast, otherwise I don't see myself eating here.

And YES, I got a BLOODY too. It just felt necessary and when your on vacation if you do not start the day with a bloody mary you are doing it wrong. The service was great, and I absolutely loved the nautical atmosphere here. It has that classic coastal breakfast feel with all the little nautical touches that make you feel like you're actually on an island, not just sitting down for breakfast. It's cute, casual, and has so much character. The Lobster Bennie was the perfect Key West breakfast choice.

While waiting to order, I was able to browse the menu and decided on the shrimp and crab wrap with fries. The cashier answered all of my questions about the wrap, which made me feel confident in my choice. The wait wasn't long, especially since everything is made fresh. The fries came out hot and definitely needed a minute to cool down, and the wrap was warm on the outside while the inside stayed cool and fresh. Everything was tasty, and the pickle was a nice touch to round out the meal. Fisherman's is a small restaurant with limited seating, but there are several benches across the walkway where you can sit and enjoy your food while watching the boats and people nearby. A great, laid-back spot with a nice view.

The food was just okay for us. I ordered the filet medium/medium-well, but one piece was much too undercooked for me to eat, while another was good. The lobster also had a texture that I personally didn't enjoy. Maybe we simply picked the wrong dish, because overall, we still had a nice experience. I also have to give them credit for the little details -- my 4-year-old daughter got a cup that changes color with the ice, and she thought it was so entertaining! I haven't seen that in many restaurants, and it was such a fun touch for kids.

The food is excellent--flavorful, thoughtfully prepared, and consistently satisfying--but what truly sets this place apart is the service, especially when you're seated at the bar. As a bar guest, I experienced something far above exceptional. It felt like walking into a place I already loved and being shown the very best of it by people who genuinely care. To the bartenders and staff who made every visit feel that way: Dairy-ah (I'm almost certainly butchering the spelling, but the pronunciation stuck with me), thank you for the warmth, the skill, and the way you made the bar feel welcoming every time. Lucy--always with the hat on backwards--you became my spirit animal the moment I realized how perfectly that energy matched the whole vibe of the place. Thank you for being exactly who you are behind that bar. Brittney, the chillest of them all: your calm, easy presence made everything feel lighter and better. Chelsea, I only got to have you serve me once, but that one time was enough to know how good you are at this. And to the Servers, Paul and Lola: even in our brief interactions while I was at the bar, both of you brought such strong, genuine personalities that it elevated the whole experience. Thank you for that. Blue Heaven is an amazing restaurant with great food and even greater service. But more than that, it's the people who make it feel like coming home and being shown the best time in a place you love the most. Thank you--truly--to all of you for making it feel that way. And to Henry, a longtime regular at the bar, who passed away during my visit. "His" presence was clearly part of the fabric of this place, and I'm grateful I got to share that space, however briefly, with the people who knew and cared for him.
