I've been attending the last few years, but I only go on the first night, and I know on that night, they offer a few beer options for around $5 so that you can "sip and shop" as you stroll through the aisles. Sometimes it's crowded, especially since the space isn't huge. However, it's a happy atmosphere, you get to support small local businesses, and the prices can't be beat. I always leave with at least one or two items. Because it's so centrally located, it's great to explore the rest of downtown Ballard afterwards!

The space feels creative, welcoming and genuinely fun to spend time in, especially when you get to experience it through an event that brings people together to make something. And if you're reading this before October 17th, you're in luck: they're bringing Sip & Stitch back for Filipino American History Month, and I cannot recommend checking it out enough. We are not Washington natives and our wedding is in Washington so that presented us a unique set of challenges in planning our wedding. We felt compelled to hire a coordinator that is local, and has experience with the venue we chose which is why Krisanna was our prime option. Planning: We officially started working with Krisanna about 3 months out of the wedding date if memory serves. She kept us organized and curated a list of all our vendors with contacts and created a wedding timeline with details for us. As we approached the wedding date we were able to slowly take our foot off the pedal and allow her to drive for us which was helpful. Overtime the she was almost 100% in charge of dealing with the vendors and only came to us with important decisions. She's well versed with our venues guidelines and layout, so she would intentionally call out pitfalls that we can easily avoid due to the institutional knowledge that she has which we really appreciated. She's responsive over text and emails when we has questions or thoughts we wanted to communicate to her. Execution: Fast forward to the day of the wedding, we literally didn't keep our phones on us at all since she's the main point of contact for the day. We were able to enjoy the day without having to bear any logistical burden knowing that she's around. Overall: 100% you need to hire Krisanna for your wedding. I was chaotic and had no clear ideas, but I did have a few very hard requests: I wanted color, I wanted texture, and I wanted everything to be cohesive, all wrapped up in an intimate dinner party feel. Oh, and lots of string lights!! She was grounding throughout the entire planning process and made accommodations more times than I can count. Honestly, I've lost track of everything she pulled off. To give you a small taste: our guest list fluctuated so much that she spent hours reworking the schematics just to fit everyone in the reception space I had envisioned. Then we changed that layout again about a month ish before the wedding. I also completely changed the ceremony site on her two weeks before the big day. We were extremely late deciding on catering. And on top of all of this, I had a medical emergency that lasted two hours on the wedding day. It probably sounds like I was a bridezilla, but not once did she hesitate to be kind, gentle, and compassionate. She was so communicative and generous with her time, always answering messages promptly even when I would flood her phone with every intrusive thought or idea at the most ridiculous times of day. She didn't just take on the role of coordinator. She was my sounding board, my designer, my counselor when I needed to rant, my project manager, all the things, all at once. J.R. chats with me casually about how things are done in Italy, though he doesn't know I've just moved to Seattle from Rome - and he's right: Quality and purchases to last for years are the emphasis, and it's a mindset I can see reflected as he returns my coat and jacket to me free of charge. Despite the triviality of my ask - replacing two buttons on a coat and one on a blazer - everything was sent off and returned in short order with the fabric brushed and cleaned, 'gratis'. Yelp? My first visit was simply a walk-in. I was in downtown Seatle, where I was visiting and interviewing for work. Walking by the shop as I had some time to sight see and went to the Pike Market that day. I stopped in because the window manequins looked cool. I had to check it out. I gained a little weight over the Spring so I was looking for a few good pieces to update my wardrobe. JR was there. Very dapper guy. He was welcoming and offered a cup of coffee from his espresso maker in the back. We chatted about silhouettes, as he tried to see what I might really be interested in. He knew all the right questions to help me help myself. I made an appointment for later that week to design a suit for a big date I had scheduled for late Summer at Maryhill in Goldendale, my wine pickup party. I like to dress up for these things. Feels good to look good! I envied JR; he gets to dress up everyday for work. I work from home, so jeans and tee shirts are my regular attire. The appointment lasted about 1/2 an hour. JR showed me fabric books to pick the color and feel for my 2 piece suit. I found a nice wool, blue square pattern. The texture was the best part, kind of an open weave. Perfect for a late summer date! I picked up a new wallet and a pink shirt which I took home that day. Just as expected, JR called about 2 months later in August for me to test fit the new suit. It was perfect of course! I was stoked! Date at Maryhill was great too! Amazing wines, good food. Fabulous view. The drive was pleasant. My date loved it as well. To my surprise, I got jeans and sweater for my birthday which my date sourced at Harris & Tailor. They are Billy Reid jeans and the sweater is a Jach's NY Cardigan. Perfect for my work from home daily rotation! Highly recommend this cool clothing store for custom suit, or best quality jeans and accessories that you can find in Seattle!
