I'm just genuinely disappointed that I now have to live with the knowledge that the best mac & cheese and carrot cake I've ever had exist in a city I don't live in. Our server, Lola, described the mac & cheese as "divine" and highly recommended the carrot cake. I should have known better than to trust her. The mac & cheese was, in fact, divine. I told Lola she had ruined my life because I will never be able to eat another mac & cheese without comparing it to this one. But the carrot cake? That was personal. Carrot cake is my favorite dessert, and I had a genuine emotional response to the first bite. Like, I actually wanted to cry. It was THAT good. I've spent my entire life loving carrot cake just to find out every piece I've ever eaten was apparently preparing me for this one. Now nothing will ever measure up. So fair warning, do not order the mac & cheese or carrot cake unless you're prepared to ruin perfectly good versions of both for yourself forever. The food was incredible, Lola was fantastic, and I'm honestly a little bitter that I don't live locally. 10/10. Five stars. Completely devastating. Would absolutely let them ruin my life again.

Food came rather quickly and service was extremely attentive. We shared cheesecake at the end which was pretty good. We arrived early and were told to grab a drink at the bar and they would come find us when our table was ready. Instead, I eventually noticed multiple missed calls from an unknown number asking where we were. I let them know we were at the bar, where we were told to wait and would be found.. When we got to the host stand, we stood there while the hostess and manager very obviously tried to figure out where to seat us. I could hear table numbers followed by "no, no, no" before the manager finally said, "try upstairs." We were brought upstairs to a hot and humid, loud, one man band, party like atmosphere and seated at a cramped table set for four. I sat down, looked around, and immediately thought absolutely not. The manager came running noticing our discomfort, and we asked to be seated downstairs.. where we had actually made our reservation. We were told we'd have to wait longer. Fine. We went back to the bar and ended up having our $500 dinner there. The bartender was incredibly sweet, but the food was underwhelming. Steak was unintentionally over charred it turned my teeth black and was all I could taste, lamb chops lacked flavor, calamari was kind of decent, and the broccolini was crunchy through and through. Dessert was actually a 10/10. Shout out to their cheesecake! At a steakhouse, a certain level of hospitality is standard and expected, and this fell WELL below it. The biggest appeal seems to be that it's the place to see the "who's who" of Detroit. If you care about spotting C-listers, maybe that's a selling point. I sure don't care.

Consistently Outstanding Food and Service!…read more If you're looking for one of the best filets in the Metro Detroit area, look no further than Fleming's in Livonia! Their filets are consistently served piping hot, with a beautiful sear on the outside, cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. The quality of their food never disappoints. What truly sets Fleming's apart, (other than their outstanding food), however, is their exceptional waitstaff. The servers are attentive, professional, and personable without ever being overbearing. They have a wonderful way of making you feel welcome, remembering their guests, and anticipating your needs without hovering. In my experience, they are among the finest servers you'll find in any upscale restaurant. It's also impressive how many of their staff members have been there since the restaurant first opened. That kind of longevity speaks volumes about the management, training, and work environment--and it certainly shows in the level of service they provide. The atmosphere is equally inviting, offering an elegant yet comfortable setting where you can enjoy a relaxed meal and carry on a conversation without competing with excessive noise. Yes, Fleming's is a little pricey, but in my opinion, you truly get what you pay for. Outstanding food, exceptional service, and a consistently enjoyable dining experience make Fleming's one of my absolute favorite restaurants!
