I'm usually not the type to write bad reviews, but my husband had asked the employee working for the owners number instead and he refused to give it to him, so I feel this is the only way to be able to talk to the owner. My husband bought sunglasses from here a few weeks ago. Transition ray band but he couldn't remember the name of them. We have two kids and they ended up breaking pretty soon after he bought them. Unfortunately, sunglasses resort stopped carrying them by the time we went back, so we asked the employee working for our receipt so we would be able to buy the glasses elsewhere. He wouldn't give us our receipt because he didn't want us to buy them elsewhere, even though they no longer carried the ones we were looking for. So weird. Confused, we asked the employee for the owners number so we can try to get the receipt from him, we figured maybe the employee just didn't have the capability, but he wouldn't give us that either. Extremely disappointed in the customer service here, especially after being a loyal customer for some time. read more

As an HB local, I had a fantastic experience at Sunglass Resort. On my first visit, I went in on a whim with my girlfriend looking for some updated/stylish Maui Jim's. I was blown away by the HUGE selection of not only Maui Jim sunglasses, but also other top-tier brands. The salesperson, Mark, was super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. After trying on a few pairs, my girlfriend insisted I purchase one of the very chic, "Luxury" line Maui Jim's. She said they looked "perfect" on me. Well, when I got home, I FaceTimed my husband who was out of town, and he didn't agree. Then I showed them to a few other friends, and the consensus was the style was not right for me. Two days later, I went back to the store. Scott, the owner, was eager to help me find sunglasses that I felt comfortable and confident in. He's worked in the industry for over 20 years, and his expertise in matching the right sunglasses to the right face is spot-on. He was so patient, knowledgeable, helpful and fun to talk to. In no time, I had found a pair that were stylish and just right for me. Scott's wife and co-owner of the store, Anna, happily made the exchange and issued me a store credit for the balance. I'm so happy that I decided to spontaneously walk in to the Sunglass Resort. I was greeted by a nice man that was helpful. They store is located in Pacific City. They have all of the top brands including Chanel, Tom Ford, Raybans and even Chrome Hearts! I bought my first pair of Etnia sunglasses and I Love them! Their service was amazing - even during the pandemic. We know the owners from their Huntington Beach location. When it was time to get new prescriptions and new frames, we drove down to their Irvine location to get eye exams, update our Rx, and select frames. Everything was great. People were distanced in the store, all wore appropriate PPE the entire time. The exam was fast and thorough. We looked at a bunch of frames - each time we tried one on and decided against it, they took it directly to the sterilizer. The staff was great - and they knew their stock well. They offered opinions when we asked, and patiently let us go back-and-forth between frames again and again. Once we selected our frames, the ordering was quick and easy. The lenses came in faster than any of us expected. The finished products look great. No issues with the lenses (which is rare for me - there's usually something with new glasses). All this during the pandemic. Will definitely go back again and again. read more

DO NOT BUY SUNGLASSES FROM THIS STORE!! SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES!!! BUYER BEWARE!! THEY HAVE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AND LIE TO YOUR FACE. Came in this store yesterday and bought some Ray Bans. When I got to my hotel I took them out of the case and noticed there was a white scratch/mark on the frame. I came back the very next morning less than 24 hours after my original purchase. I talked to the guy that sold them to me and let him know he sold me a defective pair of glasses and I asked for a replacement pair. He looked at me like I had asked him to do a backflip. They tried to clean the glasses for me and the white mark did not go away. He said he didn't see the mark when he sold them to me and they will not replace a damaged pair of glasses. He looked at me in my face and said it was obvious to him that the glasses had been worn and I must have scratched them. That is 100% false. They were taken out of my case at my hotel room, I noticed the mark and put them right back in the case. This is the absolute worst place to buy glasses. They have zero empathy or respect for customers. Save yourself the time and energy from buying sunglasses from these thieves. They do not know the first thing about customer service or doing what is morally right. Extremely disappointed that a store like this exists in 2022 in a nice area like Huntington Beach. So check it out, I was here on Sunday at the new Pacific City because there was an awesome Cars and Coffee event. Tons of incredible cars, everything from Dodge Hell Cat's to McLarens. As I walked around the Pacific city I saw a place called Sunglass Resort. I walked in and talk to the nice staff about a broken pair of sunglasses that I purchases somewhere else. The staff was amazing, my glasses were fixed in two minutes. TheyThey charged me five dollars and I could not be more satisfied. I do want to start off by saying the buying experience was AWESOME however I was not told about the 5-day exchange policy. This was my first time purchasing brand glasses for myself and I wanted to ensure I would get the correct frame for my face. I was in between two sets of glasses and decided to go with ones that were $150 more expensive and a tad bit more bold for my style. I had the glasses for a couple of days but didn't really feel like it was fitting my face properly. I asked a couple of friends who confirmed and said I should go with a different frame for my face shape. I was leaving for my birthday vacation and decided that I wanted to exchange glasses so did NOT take them on my trip. When I got back into town I called to make sure I was able to exchange where I was then given the policy for the 5-day exchange. I explained that these glasses are in PERFECT condition and still was not able to exchange them. Now I feel like I've been dumped with $500 that will forever just sit in my drawer. I can honestly say this is my first Yelp review, and I'm very sad that I was treated so poorly that I felt the need to write it. I went into the store fully intending to buy a pair of sunglasses. A family member purchased from here before and they had a good experience, and I knew they had a good selection. I entered and received an unwelcoming hello from Summer. I showed her my current glasses and told her what I was looking for. She went and retrieved a pair of the brand I wanted from a case behind the barrier, which I liked, but they were not polarized, as I preferred. They did fit well, so I told her I might be interested anyway. I asked if they came in polarized and received one of several "I don't know" answers to my questions. She showed me a few other pairs from the wall that didn't work and I asked if I could go back and look at the display of the brand I wanted, to which she said no, they were not floor items. I asked to see the first ones to get the model name and SLIGHTLY moved the edge of the sticker to read it, as I wanted to see if they did come in polarized so I could make my decision. She became very rude telling me not to remove it. I wasn't, and I said so, and I got enough info to look it up on the manufacturers website (which I would have expected any salesperson to do for me if they were interested in making a sale.) She then became even ruder and started arguing with me. I said something about her not being helpful, and she responded that they were a small business and didn't have to go by normal procedures (or something to that effect.) She then accused me of online shopping (again, I was just getting info from the manufacturer - answers to questions she did not have and would not find for me) and of fighting with her, and she told me to leave. I said I gladly would and she said in a very rude and commanding voice to never come back. Bottom line, this might be a great business, but their sales staff is not doing them any favors. Being a small business, as Summer stated, it seems that they would be even more accommodating - especially to locals like myself that will likely be their only customers in the off season. Maybe Summer just needs some customer service training - but I certainly won't be back to find out if she got it. I'm sure Sunglass Hut will be happy to help me and take my money. read more

Walked in thinking there would be more personalized service. Instead, all the glasses are behind counters so customers can't access them (probably a Covid thing). When I asked the guy working there if he had any recommendations, he showed me one pair of sunglasses. After that he just kept waiting for me to ask to see a pair which was annoying. I owed my gf some glasses (hers got stolen from her car after I left it unlocked) and she helped pinpoint her exact needs within minutes! I was in one week ago. I had been looking for a sunglass hut type store and was excited to find this right next to the hotel I was staying at. Aside from the fact that it was impossible to access any sunglasses without the help of an associate, I was actually stopped as I was preparing to leave. The teenage associate had the audacity to ask if I knew where the "Tom Ford sunglasses are?" I said no, have you checked the counter areas. There are sunglasses everywhere and it would not be hard to miss something HE forgot to put away. He then ignored me while he spoke to someone on the phone while the other associate asked me if I could stay for a few more minutes until they located the sunglasses. I immediately began removing my jacket allowing him to see I had nothing, and even offered to show my purse. Of course, the employee declined saying, "I don't feel comfortable looking in people's purses." I then asked if they have cameras to which he replied they do. Of course, being the incompetent 15 dollar an hour employees they are, they found the glasses laying on one of the counters. I received a mediocre apology and went on my way. This is a HORRIBLE way to do business. I would suggest buying designer sunglasses anywhere but here. read more

I have now purchased 2 pairs from this store and also had 2 pairs repaired on the spot. If you are in the area and need Sunglasses, this is the store to go to! These people are great, provately owned by a family. Both of the owners are awesome and were working when we were there. They know a lot about sunglasses and hooked me up woth good info, also gabe us space when we needed it which is a huge plus for me. Finally they didnt try to upsell me needlessly on polarized lenses and actually explained me the benefits and lead me to the conclusions that i probably didnt need to spend the extra money which was awesome. This is the second location for this small chain. I called this store after running into racist incompetent employees at the location in Irvine. Summer, who is the store manager at this location deeply apologized for what my husband and I experienced at the Irvine location; she assured me that she could help us but wanted to call me back because she wanted to see if she could do anything further about our situation. 5 minutes later Summer calls me back yelling at me stating that she was informed from Scott- their regional manager- that she would not be helping us at all with getting our glasses repaired. She wouldn't let me talk on the phone, she just kept attacking me stating they removed our warranty and wouldn't be helping us then hung up. I've got to say, I'm not sure what's going on with these locations but their customer service is horrible and Scott is an incompetent Regional Manager who doesn't even understand what customer service is. If you find yourself questioning how they explain the warranty versus what is printed you'll find yourself getting thrown out of the store and no one there to help you in your future. read more

I had my eye on a few more expensive pairs, but they were kind enough to let me know that they were glass lenses that could shatter when riding my motorcycle. Also if I was to do any construction work with them and something impacted them they could shatter as well. I had been to this place before when I was just browsing. Great brands, wonderful service but I had not purchased from them. Went in yesterday to find sunglasses. Got there, found the glasses but told me they don't accept insurance. Not a big deal; they said Irvine location does, so I figured I'd have to purchase from Irvine. Got my ticket out to get validated & the sales guy went to his supervisor & told me they would not validate because I didn't purchase that day. Really? I'm going to drop $500+ on frames + $400 on lenses with them or Irvine & they won't validate me & the parking cost is maybe a few bucks? I found out that insurance won't cover the glasses so I'll have to be out of pocket for them anyhow & it would be so easy to go back and just buy from them but because of their shortsightedness of not wanting to validate me yesterday (and I'll say, honestly, I'm tweaked about it), I'll just purchase online or special order. I manage a small business as well & every customer counts. The effects of this sort of short-term save-money mentality kills a sale.
