Took a trip to San Diego with the Family. Walked into a Mom and Pop type store to try on some Aviator Ray Ban glasses... They looked amazing on my Wife. Even the sales lady agreed. But we felt more comfortable buying them at a reputable location. On our way home, we decided to stop at San Clemente Sunglass Hut. We tried on the same sunglasses and the sales lady went on to say that they were not a good fit for her because of her cheek bone etc etc. She then proceeded to literally tell My Wife that because she has kids, these pair (another style) would be more her style... Like really? Who the hell would say anything like that, not to mention what the hell does having kids have to do with what style glasses she wears? Interesting... Very rude. I was taken aback while my Wife felt it was rude and uncalled for an opinion like that. Honestly, it left a bad taste and walked out VERY disappointed. More because of the comment. Huge bummer. Made some very big purchases today and was very displeased with the service here. The sales reps I talked to at first were very dismissive and predatory and resulted in a purchase I was unhappy with. I drove back to the store an hour after the purchase without taking my glasses out of the box or anything to get a refund. The manager tried claiming the lenses were scratched so they couldn't make a refund. Reminder I hadn't even opened the box, these were the new rayban wayfarer glasses that come in a sealed box so it's easy to see nothing was opened. After a while they let me do an exchange. So I get an exchange with no fuss from here. They even let me run the BOGO deal on another pair of glasses which was nice. Then I get home with the new glasses and see that without even consulting me they slapped on the protection plan on both of the new glasses. Absolutely horrendous customer service with no respect for customers. It's so easy, just maybe don't charge people for things they didn't ask for and let someone return something they purchased an hour prior. Also just be sure to check retail prices on these glasses, they absolutely sold those raybands for well over $100 over what meta was offering them for. Shame. read more

My wife bought 2 pairs of glasses and two hours later tried to return them because she felt guilty about spending that much money. was told the system to return was down. After 3 more attempts to return them she got different excuses each time. Finally went to Mission Viejo and returned them no problem. I spent over $400 on a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses and a nut loosened and fell off at the hinge so I went back and was told by a woman (very rudely) working there that the missing nut wasn't the problem and I needed parts they could not get and that I should ship to Hawaii to get repaired. I left and went to a different place that confirmed it was just the nut and fixed immediately at no charge. These people are not worth dealing with-go somewhere else. read more

I don't really like these stores as there are much better prices to be had elsewhere but I bought a pair anyway. One of the lenses keeps falling out and they tell me to take them to lenscrafters to be fixed. They're too busy and don't have the tools to fix them at Sunglasses Hut. I would never write a review like this but I would strongly advise everyone not to shop here. The manager Ricky scammed us. For short- he convinced us to buy a $300 pair of display glasses, promising we could get them replaced if anything was wrong since they had minor scratches. I have no problem with scratches. Only to discover one of the lenses would keep popping out. We come back attempting to replace them and he said that was only valid for one day and I "bent the nose guard out" so it was damaged. A complete joke. We even bought the warranty with the glasses- and he said we would have to pay to get them replaced or repaired regardless of that. The kicker- he gives us a fraudulent 1-800 number on a sticky note to escalate it, then walks back in his office on a FaceTime call. Yelp Challenge 2017 42/100 After having a horrible experience at the SGH located inside Mission Viejo Mall by JESSICA, I vowed NEVER TO STEP FOOT INTO A SGH AGAIN. I was intent on being done with them. Tonight I had a change of heart and its all because of JONAH and Marianne. I walked by this store and suddenly had a flash back of the nasty, unprofessional , treatment at the MV mall. Then something told me, just walk in and see what they have, but don't buy anything. Immediately , I was warmly greeted by Jonah who acknowledged me and offered to answer any questions if I needed any help. So far so good. The inventory here is very extensive with a myriad of high end designers and in trend style from Brands like D&G, DIOR, GUCCI, Bvlgari, Rayband, Prada, etc. There is no shortage of high end choices at this location and that is a plus because that is not usually the case. In some instances, depending on demographic of a particular location, inventory is selective and limited with the higher end products. Even clearance sections here have the Designers that I am into (don't judge me) that are half the cost or more. So, its a win win for me. As I was scooping out some potential items, I couldn't help but to keep fighting the urge to leave because of the past and my promise to myself to give my business elsewhere. I found myself sharing my hesitation with Jonah and Marianne while asking about different styles and describing the nightmare of an experience on Dec 29th and my anti SGH vow to never shop there again. Almost immediately, Jonah treated me with such empathy and compassion in conjunction to the already attentiveness and patience he was providing me, I was floored. He was so shocked at the details , while I was sharing with him from MV that he instantly apologized for that experience ( which he had no part of ) and made it his mission to make sure they could make it up to me. Honestly, I was so impressed with his reaction to makeup for someone else's poor behavior that I decided to cave in and purchase a pair of BVGARI glasses that were similar to the Versace ones that had broken and the reason I had even stepped foot into the MV store to begin with. Jonah was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, professional, and attentive that It made me reconsider a lot of things. I will NEVER NEVER STEP FOOT INTO MV, EVER and wont be surprised if they close down because of the horrible service there , thats a PROMISE I WILL KEEP. Instead, I will reconsider and come to this San Clemente location and possibly shop here just because of Jonah's redemption tonight . I was able to use a discount for my purchase and save $50.00 off my pair of glasses, get them fitted and adjusted, and came out with two new friends. I was not going to buy anything, at all. All in one night, one person changed that. Thank you Jonah for your professionalism, attentive nature, and your ability to make an unpleasant ,and vile experience from one location that tarnished the company in my eyes at the time and completely change it into a pleasant one , and redeeming the SGH BRAND while teaching me lesson at the same time. I appreciate it. So, I urge you yelpers, if you are in the area, stop by this location, look for Jonah he will make your experience a delightful one where you will leave there not only looking great with a new pair of stylish glasses, but feeling great because of the attentive nature they provide to their customers. Dear corporate if you read this, please give this kid a raise! Please also use him as an example of how he managed to save face with your BRAND. Decent sized Oakley selection of past models with current ones. You probably won't be saving a ton of money if you're just walking in and grabbing a pair of glasses, but if you want something quick, you can probably find a style that suits. They carried all the usual brands you'd expect from a Sunglass Hut and as the theme with all of the stores in this mall, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Kids looked good in those colored Ray Bans but no way I'm entrusting them in $99 shades! read more

This locations customer service is astonishingly poor. My gf bought me a pair of ray bans on black Friday for xmas. I opened then yesterday, they're scratched coming out of the package. Took them back for an exchange. The sale associate store shed never sell a pair that were scratched and the manager agreed. It was black Friday, I'm sure it was hectic, I was willing to let the mistake slide, but they wont own up to it, so theyll never get another dollar of mine and I'll do what i can to shift friends and family away from this location. read more

Sales Supervisor, Chelsea, was awesome today! The purpose of today's visit was to redeem a wholesaler's warranty... I explained a few issues in regards to locating my receipt/record within their system, before somehow finding my year-old receipt at home. Though my receipt was two months past their in-store warranty, Chelsea was nice enough to honor their one year, in-store, policy as I was never added to their system.
