I'm extremely disappointed with my experience here. I initially had a great impression of the office. The optometrist was very thorough, took his time with my exam, explained everything clearly, and I genuinely thought he was great. Unfortunately, everything involving my glasses afterward was a completely different experience. I brought in a pair of Ray-Ban frames that I had worn for almost four years to have new prescription lenses put in. The frames were still in decent condition and fit me perfectly. About a month later, I received them back and the new lenses somehow had more scratches than my four-year-old lenses. I called and was polite about the issue and had my 18-year-old sister drop them off for me. The employee she dealt with was extremely rude to her, raised her voice, and blamed us for the damage. After several more weeks and multiple calls, including times when they didn't seem to know where my glasses even were, I finally got them back again. Now the frame is bowed outward and no longer fits my head correctly, and there are small cracks/chips in the lenses that were absolutely not there before. At this point, I put them back in the case and will be going somewhere else. I rely on my glasses every day for medical school, so being without a properly fitting pair for this long has been incredibly frustrating. I really liked the doctor, but the handling of my glasses, communication, and treatment of my younger sister were unacceptable. read more

What's nice about this optometry business is that you don't feel like you are in a mass production environment. It is a small office in a very nice location with a small staff of people who are very attentive. Dr. Petersen is very affable and a great conversationalist. He also keeps you informed of what he is doing and what the tests mean (nice to know stuff). For the environment, Dr. Petersen has an old Marantz system that I recognized immediately, on which he played some classics from a variety of decades amd genres (no Pandora or Spotify here). read more

Very friendly and welcoming business. My glasses broke (screw fell out) while on vacation. It took a while for the technician to find a screw that fit but they persisted, found one, and fixed my glasses--no charge! Seeing the pleasant interactions in the office between staff, doctor, and patients while I waited, I would definitely recommend this Advanced Eyecare location in Dana Point. Another bonus: They let me sit and wait in the office with my small dog (on my lap). Being on vacation, I wasn't able to leave her at my rental unit and needed to bring her with me. On vacation in the Dana Point area, and realized I forgot my contacts. My glasses are a prescription from several years ago (not even close to current), and eyes are bad enough that going without isn't an option. I called Advanced Eye Care, emailed a copy of my prescription, and they had a few pairs of sample contacts in stock. Walked in a little while later to pick them up, and they were ready to go. I am very disappointed in the service I receive from this office. I took off from work early on Friday to come in to my appointment at 3:30 only to find out that you no longer accept my insurance after driving all the way out and taking time off of work.I called prior to my appointment all day trying to reach someone to give you the updated insurance information ( the exact same policy) without getting a call back or the phone being answered. The poor gentleman working the front was overloaded doing the best that he could. He said that this was his work environment all week! This is an example of Very Bad Office Management. Poor scheduling of staff and lack of follow through with patience. Honestly I'm glad you don't take my insurance anymore, saves me the trouble of dealing with this in the future. I'm sure I'm not the only unhappy patient and I'm sure this bad management will if not already affect your bottom line and business. read more

Poor front office staff and scheduling system. I made an appointment in Aug 2022, for Sept. I got a call a week before my appt to reschedule for October. Waited two months for an appointment, then show up and they had no appointment for me scheduled. Very disappointed in the lack of coordination by the office to figure out appointments. In addition, it two two months to send me records of my prescriptions to buy new glasses and contacts. Would not recommend this office, can't trust them. read more

So I went here this last weekend looking to get Enchorma glasses. Walked in and was seen by the doctor right away I loved the doctor super nice guy. I picked out the glasses I wanted and he told me the girls working there would help me out with the rest. This is where I had my issues they had no idea how to ring me up. The had me pick out frames and asked for more time to try to figure out how to ring me up. After waiting for about 10 minutes and over hearing them ask each other how to ring them up they came and asked me if they could call me Monday because they didn't know what to do. Granted they didn't want to over charge or under charge me but you sell that product shouldn't you know how to ring these up. So I waited until today and I called them back and I believe her name was Samantha said that I should just go off the enchorma website and they would order them for me. If I wanted that then why go to your store in the first place. She also told me that the frames on there website where just like the ones I picked out in the store nope she was wrong. So now I am going to go somewhere else to get my glasses and order them from a different store because I was so turned off by the customer service I received. These glasses were great helped me a lot now I need to wait even longer to get them. My thing is if your going to sell a product and only one person that works there knows how to ring them up maybe it's time for some training. read more

We went to Dr. wang in September 2020 and he was amazing. took his time examining my dad and mom's eyes and was a great listener. he prescribed an eye drop which would treat my mom's chronic dry eyes ( which the previous doctor we used to go to, never bothered or knew about this medicine). We faced some issues with the insurance for approving this medicine since it was pricy. Ester and Nancy were amazing and super helpful in following up and helping us with this matter. They probably contacted the insurance company at least 4-5 times to pass on all the documents and prove and convince the insurance company it is a required medicine to treat my mother's chronic dry eyes. They had an open communication line with us during this time which also helped us provide the documents and make the process being done faster. I am super grateful for all the work, help, calls, and communications they have done to make it happen. We even had a bunch of questions regarding how to use and keep the eyedrop after we had it and ester listened patiently, asked the doctor, and called me back with the answers in no time. In summary: Dr. Wang is a great doctor and His staff ( Nancy and Ester ) and the rest of the front desk are amazing. Highly recommend them! read more

Probably the worst medical appt I've ever had. The dr was good and spot on however the staff and this young girl named Ester was quite rude almost annoyingly rude. Typical that always made it a point to inform us in a way that she was right. Not directly but indirectly mentioning the same thing over and over and over again.
