I was looking for miraflex glasses to replace my daughter's pair. Woods Optical was listed as a…read moredealer. The cost of the glasses are expensive, but worth it. However when I stopped in they did not accept my insurance and quoted about $190 for the frames and another $100 for the lenses. I told the salesclerk I would shop around before purchasing and he stated, "Good luck finding a store that offers these frames and accepts your insurance." And as my daughter and I walked out, he said to my three-year-old " Okay, I'll see you later." I was not impressed at all with his attitude. I called other miraflex dealers and eventually found "The Visionary" in Allen Park. They took my insurance and I got the glasses with lenses for my co-pay. $25. Customer service was excellent there.

Dealing with them was a pleasure, and they didn't pressure me into buying anything else. When the glasses arrived (Late due to a massive snow storm) they called me and forwarded them to Puerto Rico at my request. I would most certainly go back again to buy prescription eyewear.

HOWEVER, there were almost no Covid-19 safety measures. Staff had masks worn improperly. I was there three times in the past month, for exams for three different people, and not once saw any cleaning or sanitizing done. I had glasses shoved onto my face and my children's faces, and saw smudges and finger prints all over them. I was encouraged to lower or remove my mask to get a better view of the frames. One communal pen and notebook is used to sign in, I saw no hand sanitizer anywhere. I'm disappointed that a medical office, of all places, has such low disinfecting standards. I will not be back to purchase frames or receive any exams in the near future, which is unfortunate as there was nothing wrong with the actual exam itself. I'm just not willing to risk the health and safety of myself or my family, we will find another office that can at least wipe things down and wear masks properly.
