HOWEVER, there were almost no Covid-19 safety measures. Staff had masks worn improperly. I was there three times in the past month, for exams for three different people, and not once saw any cleaning or sanitizing done. I had glasses shoved onto my face and my children's faces, and saw smudges and finger prints all over them. I was encouraged to lower or remove my mask to get a better view of the frames. One communal pen and notebook is used to sign in, I saw no hand sanitizer anywhere. I'm disappointed that a medical office, of all places, has such low disinfecting standards. I will not be back to purchase frames or receive any exams in the near future, which is unfortunate as there was nothing wrong with the actual exam itself. I'm just not willing to risk the health and safety of myself or my family, we will find another office that can at least wipe things down and wear masks properly.

It's awesome! Dr. Akler says my vision will further improve which is crazy for me to think about. Dr. Akler, Barbara, and their whole staff are very thorough with their consultation. They did tests the "commercial LASIK" places didn't do when I went there for a consult. The surgery was the weirdest thing you can do, but I would do it again hands down x 1000000. The surgery itself was pain-free. Dr. Akler talks you through the whole surgery while she's doing it. I did have some pain for the first 2 hours when I got home, but it went away and hasn't been back. I've had no complications and I attribute that to a great consultation (ensuring I'm a good candidate), following the pre-op instructions, and the skills and knowledge of Dr. Akler. It's mind-blowing to be able to see this well without my contacts. If you're looking to get rid of glasses and contacts, look no further than Akler Eye Care. We've been fortunate so far in finding new doctors & a dentist since our move to Livonia. I would certainly consider myself fortunate for finding Marston Optometry. The previous reviewers all have it correct in stating how awesome this practice is. From the front desk staff, to the technician, to the optometrist, to the optician this place has exceeded my expectations. I have gotten to the place where I needed reading glasses and after researching a number of different places I chose Marston and am very glad I did. They were able to schedule an appointment that was convenient for me and wasn't several weeks out. I was greeted quickly and warmly by Carroll upon arriving and was only waiting a matter of a few minutes till Yolanda, optometric technician, came to get me. Yolanda explained every step in the process and seemed to genuinely love her job. Soon after Yolanda was finished, the doctor came in and completed my exam. No where in the process did the doctor try to sell me any products or embellish the results of my exam in order to up-sell me any unnecessary glasses. She was honest and explained everything in detail. After the exam, I was escorted to Mindy, optician, to discuss my options regarding reading glasses. I was concerned that this would now be the chance for them to try and sell me overpriced, unnecessary items. My first impression I got there was still unknown and their sign of the clinic was falling off from their building but everybody there was very nice. Dr. Hakim did such a great job. no scars, no dry eye, and no redness which I was worried. I was very happy about the result. I went to someone else before Hakim Eye Center and told me $3700 charge because they do not have a machine in their place and care about me after the surgery.
