Still though, they were my first experience with higher-end bikinis when I came to college, and when I was thin enough to wear those things I was too broke and when I was comfortable enough to afford them I was too fat. Isn't that usually the way? Since graduating UF, I rarely come down 13th Street, but today I figured I could re-visit. (Plus I had a 50% coupon from some nice peeps on Twitter--thanks!) The store is still laid back, surfboards akimbo, sunglasses flaring in their cases, shoes languidly hanging. There are no mannequins, and usually no more than two people at a time working behind the sales counter. The stuff is there, and the staff will only interact with you if you speak to them. They do not upsell, they do not follow you around. The merchandise is all there for you to browse at will. You either want it or you don't. The bikini situation was the same as always--the uglier they are, the more likely they are to fit. The cute, sassy ones? ... yeah, not quite made for someone of my proportions. Groan. Things haven't changed all that much, have they, Freeride? I guess I'll have to blow that coupon on a nice shirt or two ...

Dr. Monahan is incredible. I highly recommend her if you need an Optometrist. She is amazing with…read morechildren. She made my 7 year old daughter feel safe and comfortable. My daughter kept having recurring pink eye. The urgent cares would prescribe medicine for bacterial pink eye. Dr. Monahan found she had viral pink eye and that was why it would get better then come back. She prescribed us a different medication and it cleared up. I couldn't get my daughter back for her follow up and it was a few weeks after when I was supposed to take her there. The lady that answers the phone told me I would have to pay for another appointment because of the delay in getting her back for the follow up. Dr. Monahan did the eye exam, told me my daughters eye was 95% healed. She prescribed us some more of the medication that got her eye healed to have on hand if it flares up again and to put 1 drop in for the next 2 weeks. After the exam she walked us out, she saw me going over to pay for the appointment and told me that I didn't have to pay because it was a follow up (which wasn't what the phone lady told me). She is so kind. I am completely blown away by the whole operation! I was paying $150-200 for at the Urgent Care places to get medication and they weren't even treating the right problem. Dr. Monahan was $68 for the appointment, the follow up and a new prescription to have on hand if I needed it. Nothing I can say will express the level at which I recommend Dr. Monahan especially if you have a young child. I give her a 11/10!

They are personable, knowledgeable and work hard to try and find you the style of glasses you need. My optician, Dr. Barber, is wonderful! I couldn't ask for a more knowledgeable doctor. Furthermore, the prices are on point, nothing is to expensive, and yes, they send there glasses to a lab. They do this for quality purposes, they let me know this up front, it took about a week to get my new glasses back. I absolutely recommend University Opticians.

My lenses started to deteriorate almost immediately after walking out of their shop. A few months later, after they had gotten to a point were they were just getting unusable, I came back to UO to see what could be done about this. I was basically told there was nothing they could do and, ha ha, if I actually HAD gotten the anti-glare coating, they would have been covered by a warrantee. So there was no "warrantee" for the lenses in general?!! I guess that's tough luck for me. Awesome... This place sucks.
