I'd like to share feedback regarding a very disappointing experience during a recent visit. From the beginning, our scheduled appointment was delayed by over 45 minutes, despite having completed all new patient paperwork in advance. The first virtual eye exam encountered multiple technical issues, which led to a second exam. That second attempt ended with a referral to see an eye doctor--defeating the purpose of our original visit, which was specifically to obtain a prescription for my child. Due to confusion around retrieving records and a general lack of communication among staff, a third exam was then conducted, this time involving the store manager. This also concluded with yet another referral to an eye doctor, and again, no prescription was provided. During this process, the store manager made unprofessional remarks in front of other patients, stating that an employee had submitted their two weeks' notice. It turns out that the staff member who conducted the second exam had quit and apparently had no training or support in using the equipment. Even the store manager (Chandler) acknowledged that the experience was disorganized and poorly managed. Ultimately, we spent 2.5 hours in the store with no resolution--no prescription, no glasses, and a great deal of frustration. This was a highly unprofessional and inefficient experience that left us feeling our time was completely wasted. I hope this feedback helps drive improvements in operations, staff training, management and customer communication. read more

I wish I had looked at the ratings before I walk through their doors. The worse experience in my 25 years getting glasses. I will keep it simple . I waited 2 weeks for my glasses just to be given the wrong script. I could not see anything in front of me and they wanted to charge me to fix their mistake. So, I just ask for a full refund, which will take another 5- 7 days to get. I regret that I did not check the reviews before scheduling appointments. I've worn glasses for 25 years and wrongly assumed that optometrist appointments were fairly standard. The website does not make clear that you will be seen via telehealth with a technician on a tv screen remotely operating equipment and NO optometrist on site or accessible. The latter is the most concerning part. I'm not sure how they can operate legally when a licensed optometrist is not available to answer a patient's questions. After my exam, the salesperson casually mentions they recommended I see a specialist for glaucoma because of my results. Alarming to say the least being relatively young and having no notable visual history. Then they tell me that they couldn't provide a prescription for my son because the acuity was too poor to correct in one eye, so I'd also need to take him to see a specialist. Two appointments. Two unsettling results. No healthcare professional available to clarify the results or receive questions. They offered to schedule an appointment several days later where I could speak to a doctor on the tv screen. That's not even a slightly suitable solution. Your website is deceptive and false advertising. Eye exams are a medical appointment and most people would assume that they'd have access to a doctor to clarify their results, even in a telehealth model. This is unethical, fraudulent and deeply inappropriate. Stay away. read more

I was with my friend who was having an exam. One of the nose pieces on my sunglasses was missing. Even though my glasses were 20 years or so old, and not purchased at Stanton's, Naya repaired the nose pieces with new ones AT NO COST! She did a neat and swift job, pleasantly mind you! I went there for both glasses and contacts. I was charged for two eye exams and only one was performed. They charged me for showing me how to put in contacts and they never showed me. The frames are trash, you don't see a real optician and it's done virtually with the quality of the doctor being trash at best. And they screwed up my prescription which caused me to have to go back more than once. You pay top dollar for everything and it's all poor quality. I've had my glasses for 2 weeks and they feel like poorly adjusted magnifying glass and the frames are falling apart. This place just tried to sell me glasses after an eye exam while I'm telling them over and over that at NO POINT during the exam did I see clearly. They also argued that my astigmatism correction was +.50 and that the angle has no bearing on astigmatism correction. Refraction equipment is bent so that left eye is very high and right eye low. Head has to be tilted drastically to see through both eyes. They refused to redo the exam and told me, "have a nice day" Archer road. I would advise avoiding this place. read more

I will never go back to this store. I went in for an exam on 8/25/2022 ordered my glasses and had them donate my old pair that was a mistake now I have no glasses. My one pair of glasses can 9/1/2022 and the box they came on was damaged and so was the case. Come to find out the arm is broken. 9/8/2022 my second pair came wore them once and then I went to wear them again the paint is coming off the frames. I returned them and now have nothing since they took my original glasses to donate. Will not ever go back and do not recommend them. I wanted refund which I haven't gotten yet, but they should of let me a keep a pair since they took mine and now I am out of glasses. Which I need for night driving as well. i made my husband appointment everything went good came in the next day to pick up the glasses. glasses fixed the vision he was having from seeing far away however it made the vision up close bad. took them back in and was told for another $130 we can get another set of glasses mind u we payed $79 the day before for 2 pairs, so then he would have to use 2 type of glasses, that made no since to us. his vision was fine up close. I wish I could give no stars! If you can avoid this place, then please do so! I had a contact exam here in November 2020 and I had issues with the contacts that I purchased. I tried to receive a new contact to try out and I was told I could not have a follow up due to the time line. In most optometric offices the time line is 6 months. Their policy is 3 months which is ridiculous! I have spent almost $200 with them and then they say ok spend another $89 for a new exam in less than a year! That is a RIP off! This is why I will stick to the traditional optometrist office, where I can actually speak with someone that will be empathetic and try to help find a solution. I went in on May 16th of 2022 to get sunglasses and bifocals. My old prescription would not suffice so I paid for a new exam. I was a bit surprised when I went into a room, sat in a chair and conversed with an eye Doctor Who was on a TV set attached to the wall and not in person. I assumed they knew what they were doing so I completed the exam. When complete I sat with an employee and put together a price of about $320 for Progressive bifocals in Flexon Titanium frames I provided. We then put together a price of about $350 for Oakley sunglasses. After which they told me they didn't sell Oakley frames. The quote was for the lenses only and I needed to purchase them somewhere else and bring them back. I went to Target Optical which was the nearest place I could buy Oakley frames. The cost was $220 but they could put my prescription in them for a total of $350. So I purchased them there instead. Two weeks later Eyelab called me and my progressive bifocals were ready so I went in to pick them up and they were blurry. They tried to convince me to use them for a while but I knew they were way off and I couldn't use them. Thinking it was the progressive nature of the bifocal that caused the blurry vision, we decided to go with lined bifocals. They ordered them again (with my frames) and said it would be 2 additional weeks. In the meantime Target Optical contacted me, my Oakley sunglasses were ready. I put them on and they also were blurry. They checked the prescription in my current sunglasses and told me the prescription that I gave them from My Eyelab was far different from what I was currently using. I paid $75 for them do exam. They found that my current prescription was virtually the same as my current sunglasses. The reason I couldn't see through either of the new glasses was the exam from My Eyelab was wrong. Target was kind enough to tell me that they would just cancel my order and refund my money until I decided what I wanted to do. About a week later my Eyelab called and The lined bifocals were ready. I went to pick them up brought along with my new exam from Target. Those were blurry too. I explained that I found out the exam they provided was wrong by paying $75 for another exam. They re-ordered my lined bifocals with the new prescription provided by Target (again with my frames). And I insisted on a refund for the exam I paid them for. They did provide that credit to my American Express. 3 weeks I still didn't have them so I checked online and they were not ready, indicating "delayed" with today's date and an expected arrival date in 1 week. Every week l checked online and it indicated the same thing. Each time the dates were reppopulated with today's date and a date 1 week out as the expected arrival date. I tried to call the store 2-3 times but it always went to their call center and I never got a definitive arrival date. I live 30 miles away so just stopping in was not a reasonable option. Finally the first week of August I went into the store and told them I wanted a complete refund, this was ridiculous, It had been 3 months and I still didn't have useable glasses. I then was told my glasses were in a shipment that was lost over a month earlier and the manager was supposed to have called me. He never did. That employee processed my refund and said I had to talk to the manager about compensation for my frames. I got a direct line to the store and was assured that he would call me that day or the next but he didn't. For two weeks I called the store and he was not in, I stopped by again and he was not in but was told he would be in the next day. I called and was told he was at the bank and would be back shortly. I called three hours later and was told back from the bank yet. When I questioned that I was told, well the bank is on the other side of town. Gainesville for God sakes, you can drive from one end to the other in 15 minutes. I called back the next day, was told he was in and asked to hold, about 15 seconds later I was cut off. I called back about six or eight times over the next 2 hours and it went directly to their call center every time. They would not answer the phone. They did process my refund but they have not provided me any compensation for my $200 frames or even the courtesy of a conversation. This is a very poorly run operation with overpriced products and some of the poorest customer service I have ever experienced. I would not recommend them. I would have posted no stars but Yelp wouldn't let me post if I did, so I posted 1 star. read more

First let me say that the staff that we interacted with here were very nice. My husband and I both came in for a new prescription and glasses. The girl who did the preliminary exam stuff even got my eye pressure on the first try. No one in my 30 years of wearing glasses has done that. So kudos to her. I was a little taken aback that the optometrist was a tele-Doctor on a TV screen but I feel I got a decent exam and a reliable prescription. The person who helped with the glasses was also very nice. But she was definitely a sales person. My giving them only 2 stars has to do with their business model and not directly with my experience with the staff at this location who were great. I do feel I received a good deal on the glasses we purchased due to the complexity of the prescription and lenses needed for my husband but I won't be coming back here and it has to do with their business model. It's very evident that they get you in the door with their "2 pair of glasses for $59 and an eye exam" deal. The "value" selection of glasses to choose from that applies to that deal is VERY slim. The rest of their glasses are conveniently buy one get one free and you have to pay for your lenses which they always say you need the thinnest (and most expensive) lens and all the add ons like reflective coating and whatnot. So you go in expecting to get 2 pairs of glasses for under a hundred dollars and end up with a $400+ bill. Which I know some places charge a lot more but people coming in here for that deal are coming for CHEAP glasses. If we wanted to spend $400 we could have gone to LensCrafters. This is a borderline bait and switch practice. I did not personally get any glasses because I could not find any that fit my pumpkin head. My husbands exam showed he now needed readers along with distance in his prescription and our sales lady said they were having a deal on progressive lenses. It was actually a good deal so we opted to get them. She was nice and since my husband was hemming and hawing over the expense she got us a further discount. Which I am appreciative. I did over hear another interaction with her coworker and another patient who when she told him his total would be $400+ he gasped in shock and said he wasn't prepared to spend that, he was only offered to sign up for Care Credit. So I guess we were lucky with who we got as a sales person. :-/ If you want an eye exam and glasses bundle deal I would suggest Optical Outlets. We've used them previously and were satisfied. They don't rake you over the coals with upgrades and if you don't like their under $99 choice of glasses for their value deal they only charge you the price difference if you want a more expensive pair. I usually spend $100 there for 2 pairs of glasses and an exam. There is always the order online option as well. MyEyeLab's exams are only $45 which is not bad. Take your prescription and order online. Zenni Optical is phenomenal. They will not give you your PD here because they don't want to make it easy for you to buy online but there are a ton of online resources to help you find your PD. I went home and ordered myself a pair for $30. TL/DR I had a good experience with the staff but this company won't get my business again and there are other affordable places to get your glasses. read more

I would not go here ever again. I don't usually write reviews but I want to save someone else the hassle and stress. They seemed like they had a good deal going but it was not even all that good once I got there. It took forever to be seen even though I had an appointment, but I was understanding because it happens. The frames were all bad there. And now my glasses have been taking forever to reach me. I need them asap because I'm leaving the country soon and it's been over two weeks and I haven't received them and they keep pushing back the estimated delivery and saying there's a delay but not elaborating any further. I've been calling them everyday and every time I call they give me no real answers and I just leave the call upset because I waste my time and get nothing in return. I called many times before my estimated delivery date and they said because I called they escalated my case so that it could actually arrive on the delivery date now, which was confusing because does that mean it would not have arrived then if I didn't call to push them? Either way it's past the delivery date and they're still not here and still aren't telling me what's going on and the estimated delivery date got pushed back another week, so it will be almost a month of me having no glasses, being half blind using my old old prescription glasses, and getting migraines every day because of it. Every other place I've been to has delivered my new glasses to me the same day, or AT MOST 1-3 days. Never have I ever experienced this in my 20 years of wearing glasses and going to eye doctors. Please save yourself the misery. I'm a cheapster and I still rather pay more to have received better service than have gone here. I wish I could reverse my choice. They were trying to push me to spend more there too and I am so glad I didn't because I'm already very upset and disappointed and I would have been beyond pissed. Why have a giant store and only 2 Exam rooms? Waited an hour after my apt for an exam by a telecom doc that rushed through. I needed to see if I had a medical issue with my eyes and there is no way they could find out because they do not dilate due to not having Drs there. I should of been told this before I made the apt and asked about this screening. Did not ask patients to properly wear a mask but with only 2 staff members to cater to back to back Apts and walk ins they didn't have time to breathe. The staff was Very nice and basically running from one person to the next. When exam was complete the very hard working woman didn't have a spare moment to speak. Its basically a money making venture relying on lower than minimal staff and I will not be back. Also the glasses for cheap were terribly cheap and basic round wires, not surprised or angry at that. I felt no pressure to purchase which is nice. Again this is not to negatively reflect of the 2 hardworking women in store but the premise of this business in general. Rather than take a minute to answer my questions, he tried to pressure me to make a same day appointment and refused to give any more info about what we could reasonably expect. I took my son in on 10/12/2020 for eye exam and ordered 2 sets of glasses, even paid for them to be shipped to him in Texas. The first pair arrived with no issue. When the second pair hadn't arrived after 6 weeks, I reached out many times with no response until I finally had to go to the store and was finally informed by Ryan that the 2nd pair of glasses we had selected were no longer available! Despite his claims that he had called and emailed, the only email he had to show was that very same day that I had gone in to the store! Long story short, my son and I went up to the store 12/4 (almost 2 months later) and the girl working the counter literally walked over, grabbed the original frame he selected and popped the lenses out of the BLUE pair they sent him and put them in the frame he wanted! This is not a doctor's office, it is a store-front with an internet connection. The eye exam I received was carried out on Skype, with an optician located far away, perhaps somewhere outside the country. The robo lens testing machine, which was controlled remotely by the skype-optician, seemed to be messed up, with some lenses warping the view, a bit like beer-goggles. It may be that there was nothing wrong with the lenses, but there was no one in the building that was qualified to figure that out. I walked out with a prescription for contacts, but it was far from a pleasant experience. I would strongly suggest you look elsewhere. read more

Came in here to get my pair of sunglasses repaired. By fair one of the best displays of customer service I have encountered. Everyone on staff was incredibly polite and friendly, they walked through every step and talked me through what my options were. I'm a college student so my budget was a little limited and they were kind enough to take that into consideration and help me out. The next day I went I and picked up my new and improved shades and I couldn't be happier with the end result. I wouldn't even give this place one star. Went in with my vision insurance to get a exam for eye glasses. They took the exam to later tell me they don't take my insurance. Mr. Sebastian, then tells me I need to pay $50 for the exam. I look through their insurance package to see that they do take it but he tells me they no longer take it. My insurance cover 100% of that visit with a $10 co-payment. They are a ripoff. They are a scam. read more
